  1. Wow, really enjoyed listening to this! With my headphones on the guitars seem to dance around the top of my head.  Very clean sounding recording and great playing.  I think it's pretty perfect as is.  If I were to add anything to it I think a flute solo would wound sound nice in there. Outstanding man.

  2. Miguel, thanks for the suggestions. Larry, Jobim is my inspiration for sure, love his stuff.  Also Russ Freeman of the Rippingtons did some beautiful work with his nylon string that makes me want to try to emulate.

  3. Made some subtle changes to the mix.  Slight EQ to guitars to brighten a bit. Slight decrease in reverbs. Changed to simpler drum fills and brought down the intro snare.

  4. Thanks David, Wookie, jack!  David, there are some conga/bongos on the bridge part. I tried to add some wav percussion to the song but when it synced to the tempo it sounded terrible. I'm open to any ideas of how to add good sounding Afro/Latin percussion to songs.

  5. Thanks Steve,  I couldn't play without fret marks, I'd be lost! I pulled the frets on my 75 dollar Glarry jazz and filled with wood filler then a couple coats of CA glue,  really fun to play.

Nice work Kurt, very enjoyable listen. I agree with David about Yamaha instruments. I bought a SLG200-N a while back - in the shop I was comparing it with guitars at four or even five times the Yamaha's price point and it still more than held its own.

Appreciate the SLG guitars are a bit niche, but they are very playable, have a good blend of amplified and modelled sound and record well.

I really should get mine out of the case a bit more often. 🙂

Thanks Andy. I was shopping for the SLG and then decided I like playing unplugged too much. Years ago I saw Lee Ritenour playing one so I know they sound good.  My wife would probably like the silent version when I play a lead part 100 times trying to get a good recording!
