I think your iZotope suites probably have it covered, but I just picked up Wavesfactory Trackspacer in their most recent sale and now consider it an essential tool. So simple and effective it feels like cheating.

I was looking into that and was debating whether I have that functionality or not. Doesn't Neutron 3 and Nectar 3 have that?

To echo what Brian said, with Neutron 3 and Ozone 9, plus what comes with CbB and a download of the Meldaproduction Free Bundle, what you'd have would knock Magix' collection into the creek. You're already way beyond the need for that.

It sounds like you're putting together a nice collection of processors. From my perspective, you're there. Wait for Pluginboutique to put one of the iZotope Exponential reverbs on sale again, Phoenix or Nimbus, and there would be few mix engineers who would say that you needed anything further.

All it's about at that point is "creative" FX like Stutter Edit or whatever if you're doing EDM production, or "character" compressors and EQ's, like emulations of old hardware if you're into that sort of thing, which I'm not for the most part. You can join me in the zombie horde waiting for the next Pluginboutique freebie and seriously debating whether my budget can stand less than I'd spend on a bridge toll on a Soundspot plug-in.

Yes, it would appear I am amassing a collection of every effect I would ever need, lol. I already have Excalibur and Nimbus, also have Stutter Edit 2, Unfiltered Audio Zip and Triad. I also got the free compressors from the StayInspired campaign and OTT. For EQ the included Cakewalk one and the ones in Ozone, Neutron, and Nectar is great too. The one in Nectar 3 I found is awesome because it is a 24 band EQ that is standard and dynamic and also has Follow EQ function that I am not sure FabFilter Pro-Q has. That's why I have not bought any of the FabFilter stuff yet. Also, between Nectar, Neutron, and Ozone. I probably don't need the advanced versions. It seems besides Tonal Balance Control (which I don't think I need right now), all the missing features in Ozone are in either Neutron or Nectar, even RX7. Music re-balance is in Rx7 standard (which I have), spectral shaper in Neutron. Nectar 3 has stuff Neutron doesnt, etc. I also got the free Sonible entropy EQ they gave away with Pluginboutique in June. So it seems the Volume Former is all I needed and glad it is free. I didn't want to have to pay for LFO tool. Someone on YouTube showed how you can use TAL-Filter to do some of the things LFO tool can do. This new free Magix plugin seems to do the rest. I wont get upgrade to the full suite because it seems redundant at this point and would be a waste of money. I basically answered my own question after a while. 😛

I'll say it again, you have more /better tools than many pros have already.

Do you get much use out of the TAL-FIlter?   Is this is plugin you actually use all the time?    This is the kind tool that you might not really use enough to need an "upgrade" especially for $60, when as noted above MComb is pretty powerful and you already have the well respected TAL-FIlter.

I like how you say I have more/better tools than many pros have already, haha! I probably do, but I am such a n00b to even realize! 😛

I have not tried the Melda Production plugins all that much. I remember downloading one and uninstalled it right away because of the nagging "This is a free trial BUY NOW" staring me in the face each time I loaded it up. 😛

  4. It seems you can upgrade to the coreFX Suite for $60 if you downloaded and registered the free coreFX VolumeFormer. This looks cool because I don't have the xFer LFO tool. However I do have the free TAL-Filter. How it this compared to TAL-Filter and LFO tool? Also would it be worth the money to upgrade to the Suite version if I already have iZotope Nectar 3, Neutron 3 Standard, Ozone 9 Standard? Plus the Cakewalk classic effects plugins we will be getting from the new update. Also I may get the FabFilter Mastering bundle in the future. 😛

  5. I have Waves Element 2 and it works fine for me in Cakewalk. I just opened Cakewalk and loaded Element and tried it, works. Closed Cakewalk, opened Element again and tried it, works again. Have you tried uninstalling Elements and reinstalling it? The problem with Waves plugins is that they dont use the typical VST type files. They all seem to be shells, and Cakewalk seems to always have to rescan the shell files for changes each time it restarts. Something I noticed. I only have two Waves plugins so the scan is so fast I barely notice the difference. With tons of Waves plugins it may be a different story. Also, the Waves installer seems to install kinds of VST types. I delete all of them and keep the VST3 versions. I would suggest to try uninstalling all you waves plugins. Re-install them. But before you open Cakewalk, delete all the VST2 or other versions and keep the VST3 versions. Then run Cakewalk and see it that helps.

  6. IDK what the fuss is about. It's FREE! I installed it and it works fine. No nagging or spam emails either (didn't sign up for newsletter). If people are worried about background processes, you can disable AcdIDInTouch2 from Task Manager and disable it's startup, and also rename the file. Problem solved! I did that and it still works fine and can even check for updates.

I will be getting Davinci Resolve Studio soon. But I will use the ACDSee video editor and screen cap program as the simple quick and easy program. And Davinci Resolve Studio as the advanced editor. Kind of like how I have Cakewalk and Audacity 😛

  7. Plugin Boutique sent me emails saying that my trial version of the plugins I tried was over and offered me 10% off coupons for the plugins. I don't plan on buying them, but if someone here wants to, use these coupons. They are valid for one month only and are probably one time use. So whoever uses it first gets it! 😛

How is the proceesss of upgrde , do you have to enter old serial ect in izotope website or some ? Does it erase the old ozone ?

All I do is enter the serial in iZotope Product Portal then authorize and go from there. I think it uninstalls elements as well. It did that upgrading from RX 7 elements to RX 7 standard.

To me it looks like a huge library of synth instrument sounds that would be cool for sound design and inspiration, or adding a certain sound you want to include in your mix. Although FULL KONTAKT IS REQUIRED (lol). It does say it has tons of WAV files, plus I plan to get Kontakt soon as it goes on sale 😛

The video they highlight looks cool:

Question for anyone who has Falcon: I see it comes with a huge number of internal effects, including SparkVerb; is there any way to use them outside of Falcon, or alternatively have Falcon act as an audio effect host (rather than an instrument) that you can drop in the FX bin?

'Cause that'd be a nice selling point to help rationalize the need for a $350 synth.

Based on UVI selling the effects separately (you can buy Thorus and Sparkverb as separate plugins), I doubt this will happen. It would make buying those plugins obsolete for all Falcon users. 😕

EDIT: I did just find out that you could import any sound file into Falcon and add effects to it. Since it is a sampler as well. You could for example import a WAV file that you want to have a specific effect. But then you would have to record it onto the MIDI track then export the project back to WAV file.

How is this any different than the freebie we got earlier this week? just wondering?

From here: "Looks like the main differences are that the Beats version is only 8 MIDI Tracks & 2 audio tracks, less sounds than the standard version (the new free version includes the 3 synths & 1 expansion, F9 Instruments) no Next Sequence function or Arp from first glance. But you can also use this as a drum plugin as well."

So it looks like with the paid version you get "Access up to 32 simultaneous mono inputs to record a multi-track performance. Utilize up to 128 tracks in total." compared to 2 tracks. This deal you get 6 expansion packs compared to 1. Also with this deal you get over 24,000 samples and tons of kits, loops, etc. All the details are on the deal link.

Currently if you buy MPC 2 from the Akai website without expansions it is around $180 but with this deal it is $112 with 6 expansions.

  14. The 2020.05 release was my introduction to Cakewalk, since I just started using it this summer. It has been very smooth for me and has hardly ever crashed, and it works great! Even now that I have 259 plugins LOL! 😛

I also got a brand new laptop this summer and that is where I installed Cakewalk. I don't know if this means anything. I'm just surprised how people have crazy amounts of problems and I don't 😛
