The thing I hate most about Waves is the VST shells. Has to be rescanned every time I start Cakewalk! The multiple versions are annoying as well. WUP is just the icing on the shit cake. That's why I never bought any Waves plugins and only got free ones. I also wont be getting WUP. If it becomes a hassle, I will just delete all their plugins. I am making sure I don't need or rely on their plugins, so when the time comes, deleting them wont be an issue.

I was impressed. Then I saw the title of the first preset is called "1st impressions". 😆

Here's another GAS test - do you have enough plugins/libraries that you can cover the General MIDI soundset when excluding the 'all-in-one' plugins such as SampleTank?
Yes! 😆
Another thing is craving plugins/libraries/upgrades to satisfy some hunger. Although the hunger is usually for food but GAS mixes the signals. 🤪

When you go to buy a new plugin and find out you already own it...is that a sign you have too many of them, or just an early indication of coming dementia? At least if it's the latter, every day will be like Christmas.
That is when the power of GAS becomes too great it starts affecting other areas of the brain! Dementia are one of the symptoms. 😛

This topic has reached 2 pages. IDK if I should be honored or worried 😆

Have you reported this to the plugin vendor yet?
I just did now that you mentioned it

Not sure if it was mentioned before; MPC2 and MPC Beats still crashes with the latest version of Cakewalk. Cant open projects or expansions without it crashing.

But are they 400 unique ones, or is it closer to 200 VST2s and 200 of the equivalent VST3s? Maybe if it's the latter it's not so bad... yet 😁
Unique ones. I make sure there are either VST2 or VST3, not both. 😛

Ok, Studio One reports 7 south of 2000 plugins in their scan.
CbB over reports (because it reports mono and stereo versions) just over 3300.
😲 I don't know whether to feel ok about myself since I have less or worried about my future with GAS if that is where I am heading 😛
Since I saw you had many DAW's. The voice of GAS whispered in my ear "Buy Bitwig". But I must resist! 😆 I should be fine with Cakewalk, Reason 11, Ableton Live Lite, and MPC2.....for now! 😛

Okay Ed how many do you have?
I'm curios too now that you mention it 😛

If only this was a pinned topic when I first visited this forum in the spring and also if I knew what GAS actually meant. 😛

Searching the Deals section for the word "GAS", I haven't laughed so much for this long in a while 🤣

Just when I thought I was on the road to recovery from GAS! 🤪

My latest GAS purchase! You have to become aware of the problem to cure it right? Now on to therapy. 😛

Then laughed because of how bad I actually have it! >_<
I have been reading that term used on this forum and I always wondered what it meant.....close to 400 VST's later which include 40-50 synths. I have to admit I have a really really really bad case of GAS! 😂😭🤪😩

This actually impressed me so much including how powerful the UVI player can be and how it's libraries are high quality especially from 3rd parties like VI Labs. One of the reasons I invested in Falcon and it more than delivered! Using Falcon you can even edit this library and add the many effects it has and modulations on top of what is already provided! 😎
Combine this with synthesis? Make granular piano pads? It can get as simple or crazy as you want. 🤪

Well, you can add regular FX to instrument tracks. Even if the tracks are midi. For example if you added a TTS-1 track, you can add any audio FX to it. If you are talking about the MIDI track itself, that's a different story.

I think I remember someone saying that the BYOME presets sound slightly different in TRIAD. Just something to be aware of.
I never used BYOME so I wouldn't know. But all I know this means is more presets!
The TRIAD presets sound amazing themselves. The BYOME presets are just extra for inspiration and tweaking.

Imo it's better to buy Unfiltered Audio's TRIAD on the next sale for the same price, which is also multiband and includes all effects 😎
That's exactly what I did! I got it on sale for $50! Multiband with 43 effects and 20 modulations, plus all BYOME presets! 😎

Ya looks really good. I was possibly thinking about IK mixbox but I think I’ll spend the money here instead.
I couldn't resist and had to buy it, it's too good! Now I definitely have no need for Shaperbox or anything from FabFilter. 😛

But I rather not. I like the automated scan. If you scan manually it doesn't give you the notifications of new and removed plugins like the auto scan does. Also, makes you manually have to scan each time you make changes, which I rather be automatic.
