  1. After updating IK Product Manager to  1.0.8 (23I28) I sudddenly lost 5 autorizations from EVERY product.
Before it was "9 authorizations left" for AmpliTube 5, Miroslav Philharmonik 2, MODO BASS 2, MODO DRUM, etc... And now its just "4 authorizations left"!
And it was "10 authorizations left" for MODO BASS - now its only "5 authorizations left".
And it was "8 authorizations left" for AmpliTube 4, now its only "3 authorizations left".
So... Maybe that "positive" was not so false? 🙂

  2. Skinning is definetely a good thing, but only as long as it remains an option, not an duty.
Developers should not shift their work onto the user's shoulders.

Also, UI design is much more than just "looks". For example, MIDI editor has a menu when it's floating, but lose it when docked. It still can be called up with right mouse button click in specific area which looks just empty without any hints, but... IMO, that's a textbook example of bad UI designer's decision.

  3. I have S1 Artist, and after dragging "AnalogEffectsCollection.install" to S1 window I get an error message saying Analog Effects Collection is  incompatible with Studio One. I can see Analog Delay in my account as purchased item at my.presonus.com/products/all - but it not available in S1 Extensions window.

    Looks like it's VST only.

    Still, at this price... 🙂

  4. Every time I load any factory preset from one of the collections I got as a freebie from this 25GB into AT5.2 (like Brian May, Mesa Boogie etc), I got annoing noize every few seconds. Like that trial copy protection noize.

But if I start from a default preset or from one of the presets from collections I actually bought (like Fender 2), it's OK, no noize.

And if then I load gear from freebie collection into default preset, replacing default amp and cab with amps and cabs from freebie collection, it's OK, no noize.

    Looks like a serious bug.

Used my license of SVX 1  from audioplugin and it works

Oh. That's definitely "Oh"... Next time I should be more patient. Way more patient...

It is true it lacks some of the newer Photoshop niceties like AI based one click selection

Totally useless feature in most real life situations IMHO. And cutting objects from photos is part of my everiday job 🙂

Affinity is great. There's still some imperfections and some really strange design decisions (like there IS Auto-levels as destructive filter, but NO Auto option in non-destructive Levels adjustment layer dialog). But in some aspects it's actually even better than PS.

  8. Corel Draw 4, Aldus PageMaker 4, Adobe Photoshop 2.0... Sweet memories.

There was a rule of thumb that even (4/6/8) versions of CDR was very unstable, and odd (3/5/7) versions was reliable 🙂

Eventually I abandoned Corel for Aldus/Altsys/Macromedia FreeHand, which was replaced by Adobe Illustator. Now I use Adobe at work and Affinity Suite for my personal projects.

  9. In My Products section on KI website, I see 9 Authorizations left for my AmpliTube Slash Power DUO Bundle.

But in IK Product Manager, I see 7 Authorizations left for my AmpliTube.

And there's no AmpliTube "Full" or AmpliTube Slash Power DUO in Products sub-section in IK Product Manager . Just AmpliTube Free,  Slash,  Fender and other Collections.

Where's my 2 Authorizations go and how to get them back? 🙂

  10. Well, I'd say Axiom is not exactly a "plug a cable and you're OK to go!" type of ampsim.

Rather it's first and only "sound design modular studio" oriented towards guitar players, not keyboardists.

Some presets are pretty good stright off, though, in every category. And you get LateReplies and ReGuitar as built-in effects.

  11. I wrote to support@celemony.com, forwarding that old mail with free update offer.

    Received answer:

Dear Customer, Thanks for the mail.
You are indeed right. The purchase of your Melodyne 4 version in that specific period allows you to receive a free update.

Here’s a serial number to upgrade your product to Melodyne 5.
    a. Please login to your Celemony user account
    b. Select the License Options for that product and enter the following update serial number:

Upgrade process with that SN went without any problems, now I have Meloddyne 5 Assistant.

    So it's true!

  12. On end of 2018 Celemony offered to upgrade from Melodyne 4 Essential to 4 Assistant.

    And they stated:

Your next major update: free of charge

Melodyne is constantly being further developed and improved. Now you, too, can profit – free of charge.

Because if you update or upgrade now, you’ll get not only the current Melodyne 4 but also the next major Melodyne update for free.

Well, I think "5" is a "major". Or no?..  🙂

  13. It would be nice, if only Waldorf didn't block my freshly created account so I just can't go to checkout.

After filling the registration form they sent me "confirmation" email with this text:
"Thank you for signing up with Waldorf Music. Please confirm your email address by clicking on the following hyperlink:
    Email address is already confirmed".
And now when I try to log in, all I get is "Your login is blocked" message.

Oh well, I didn't lose anything anyway 🙂

  14. There is new and interesting feature in Boogex 3.0 IR Loader - DynaCab.

As it described in manual: "The DynaCab processing is simple in its nature: the Amp signal is processed by two independent convolvers, each loaded with its own impulse response. Then the outputs of these convolvers are mixed in a dynamic manner. The dynamic response is derived from the signal output of the Pre EQ stage. This preserves the original guitar playing dynamics." ... "In an ideal case, both impulse responses should be matched: e.g. by capturing two impulse responses from a real guitar cabinet, at high and low loudness levels."

The problem is - there's not many matched IRs out there. Still, it's uncommon feature.

  15. Finally managed to register account.  Didn't get email with verification code (yes, I looked at spam folder too ;-)). So now I can't login (account wasn't verificated) and can't use my email address for new account (username was already taken by another user... me).
Oh well, I have more than enough reverbs to bother support service :-)
