Thank you !!

Ya, the naming convention is confusing as hell. But this is a good breakdown https://justpaste.it/AcusticaAudioAcquaMasterList

So I’ve been a UAD, Waves, Slate, Plugin Alliance (as well as the usual suspects) user for a long time. But got the itch to try some of Acustica Audios plugs and WOW ! I started out with “Camel” (the names are odd but this is based on Trident and Calrec hardware) and was immediately impressed. Then yesterday I demo’d ”Pink4” (API) and again WOW ! Also “wow“ is the download - it’s like 10 gigs. Now I’m demoing “Sand” (SSL) and holy shit it’s awesome. HUGE download on that as well. The massive downloads are because they download ”libraries” - I don’t fully understand it but that’s how they’ve modeled the hardware vs algorithms (I think). Luckily I built a new studio computer earlier this year (i9 9900k, 32 gig RAM, all M2’s and SSD’s) because even with that kind of hardware horsepower you can tell these plug-ins take some serious power to work. Anyone else have experience with these ? BTW - on Cakewalk by Bandlab they work perfectly.

Thanks folks ! This’ll be the first song we are doing remotely as my singer moved from the DC area to Buffalo.

Thanks again, Noel ! It was an absolute pleasure talking and troubleshooting with you !

Ummm....I’ve been using some variation of Cakewalk all the way back to Pro Audio back around 2001 so I’m fairly confident I’m adept Trust me when I say the issue I had was bizarre and Noel changed code in order to squash the bug. He’s a hell of a nice guy too !

I wanted to do a public shout out to @Noel Borthwickfor some exceptional support. I’ve had sort of an odd problem and Noel had a Zoom session to sort it out - and what he fixed will be appearing in a future release. unbelievable support !!

I’ve posted about this before but I’m not sure my written explanations made sense. So this time I took a vid. Long story short. If I move my cursor around the track area all is good. If I move (and not even click anything) in the buss area I get crackles and all kinds of buffer issues. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uklm6889rvypuff/IMG_1158.MOV?dl=0

I still blue screen during the reboot process. It then reboots again and undo’s all the changes. Oddly I dual boot (one off of an NVMe and one off a SSD - the NVMe fails) and one of the installations updated to 2004 without an issue.

Thx for responding. The most bizarre part is that it only makes the noise (when audio is being processed)when busses are visible and I scroll the mouse ON the area where the busses are. Even without audio being processed I still rack up the “late buffer” count when hovering over the performance area on the control bar AFTER scrolling on the bus area. My brain hurts.

Not directly the same issue but I’m also having strange problems after installing a new NVIDIA card.
-
Here's a strange one. Bought and installed a new video card (GTX 1650) for a recent new studio build (Asus Hero, i9 9900, 32 Gig,etc) and noticed a strange anomaly. When I'm in track view (without busses being visible) and scroll my mouse while audio is being played all works as expected. However if I am in track view with busses visible (via the show/hide bus pane button) and am passing audio through my busses I hear a LOT of crackling when I scroll my mouse. How strange is that ? It makes mixing a real pain as you can imagine. It is reproducible on old projects as well as new projects (using my template) and it never happened before I installed the video card - which is working great. Any ideas ? Can one of my plugins one one of my busses be causing such an issue ? Running 2020.08 (Build 120 64-bit) EDIT - When I reproduce the crackling the "late buffers" number soars up in the performance area if you hover the mouse. The mystery deepens...

Did "ESC" during mixdown/export functionality change ?

Hehehe. That’s probably an accurate timeline. I used to use what ever was in that area -

Did "ESC" during mixdown/export functionality change ?

Narrowed it down a little. If I go File>Export>Audio I get the normal export audio dialogue and can start the export AND interrupt with the esc key. That works fine. However if I do it from the control bar Custom>Export and start the export I cannot interrupt it with the ESC key. In both instances Audible Bounce is enabled. This is repeatable on multiple projects. -

Already ahead of you New project, old project, and different instances of Cakewalk. However the instances share the same keyboard (in a dual boot configuration). I’m wondering if my keyboard got wonky ? Stranger things have happened. I’ll troubleshoot further and I thank you for your response.
