I remember when Mix Recall was first added to Sonar. Then and now I still think it is one of the best additions to the palette of tools on offer within Cakewalk.
-
Try setting 48k 24bit not 32 bit. 32 bit relates to internal plugin processing not audio processing.

Not sure if I understand your use case properly but are you aware that you can have multiple projects/files open simultaneously in Cakewalk.

Cakewalk Midi Track Basics Flow and Few Questions
Michael Vogel replied to Sridhar Raghavan's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Spend some time with the Cakewalk Reference Guide. It is a great teaching tool to fill the gaps that don’t come intuitively from just using the program. It’s downloadable from this site. https://bandlab.github.io/cakewalk/docs/Cakewalk Reference Guide.pdf -
I've just done a WUP and have this link that anyone can use for a discount as stated above. https://www.waves.com/r/zeix9f

No issues here. Why not contact Waves support. They’re very responsive and helpful.

GPU audio potential finally unlocked! Is CbB ready for it?
Michael Vogel replied to Teegarden's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If a lot of the future dev’ to make this happen is down to Plug-in developers I can see lots of problems. Even now with VSTs there are many devs that don’t follow the standards set down in the specs causing all sorts of problems. Will they now be confronted by another set of specs that will ultimately be poorly implemented causing yet more problems. Im grateful to be running my Waves plugins in a Soundgrid server so don’t have to worry too much about latency and plug-in count. Using the power of GPUs for processing would be great but I need to see this happening not just read about. -
Look for forum member Aszlow who has written a plug-in/driver that is far superior to what is available through ACT etc. He is a long time Cakewalk user and has developed this over a period of several years. It’s highly recommended.

Cakewalk/Realtek/ASIO and Windows 11 ?
Michael Vogel replied to Michael Finnity's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I’ve read a few posts blaming Win 11 for audio issues claiming it is unsuited for audio. I been using Win 11 on my laptop for about 6 weeks or so and have not encountered any issues dealing with CbB or any other DAW. My Win 10 compatible drivers all happily work with Win 11 and apart from the layout changes to Windows, I’ve not experienced any differences between Win 10 or Win 11 as respects audio This coming week I’ll likely migrate my Studio PC to Win11 as well. -
I’ve had a Soundgrid system for 6 years or so. No problem with Cakewalk or Sonar beforehand. I have an IOS server/Interface and an IOX for additional routing and IO. I’ve had health issues that have hampered me the last couple of years so haven’t done a great deal but I’ve used multiple DAWS without any real problems. There’s a learning curve with the initial setup and how you use the whole Soundgrid system with a DAW but once you’ve mastered it alls good. I’ll probably need a refresher when I get back to it. I also run a Raven touch screen to give me full control but I use that more with Cubase as there’s a dedicated overlay for it whereas, because Cakewalk is touch enabled out of the box Steven Slate didn’t ever make a specific Cakewalk overlay. it’s really a whole other subject and it makes my setup a bit of a monster to run. With constant health issues it’s been a bit hard to get into a rhythm and establish a smooth workflow. And yes I like it. I find Waves are generally very responsive to questions and the software has been very stable ie the Soundgrid driver (which is just updated to V 13) along with the rest of the software. I’m a big Waves fan and have all their plugins. In more than 35 years I’ve tried RME hardware, Presonus, Mackie, MOTU, AVID and heaps of other hardware and when the WavesSoundgrid stuff came out I Jumped from RME and never looked back. The preamps are excellent, the driver is really stable and latency has become a thing of the past. I’ll be interested to try out the new driver. Anyways I’ve rambled on a bit. Let me know how you go.

Edit your thread title to reflect that your problem is solved. Just place [SOLVED] at the end of the title. Cheers

Because I was only seeing the VST2 version I moved the VST2 Waveshell file out of the scan path. This made the VST3 version show up in CbB. After I moved the VST2 Waveshell file back nothing has changed and the VST3 version remains available. Problem solved even though I don't know exactly why. I have the following settings in VST preferences. see pic.

During a decade or more using Waves plugins and Digigrid hardware Waves support has always been very responsive. I’m going to shoot them a support request too.

In the interim use the VST2 version; thats what I’ve been doing.

Sorry you’re having these problems. Something from your post really stands out for me, the following; ”there is no way in hell I'm going to put this on my studio computer, luckily I still have my trusted X3 PE on the studio computer, which since I bought it some time ago, has NEVER let me down, “ So you’re running CbB on a different computer to X3PE which you say is on your Studio PC I’m having trouble understanding how you can compare the performance and stability of CbB on a completely different computer to your stable studio one where you’re running X3. Including myself, I know multiple people who run versions of Sonar in parallel to CbB on the same machine without problem. I don’t need the Sonar versions except for V-Vocal Anyway there seems to be plenty of room for doubt about your conclusions. Still you should do what you think works best for you.

Where does CAL send "message" output?
Michael Vogel replied to Paul DeRocco's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The following link is for my whole CAL repository. It’s stored in my OneDrive feel free to download the lot. The majority of the files are in the zip archive. The link is good go a week. https://1drv.ms/f/s!Ahg7GEVUP0HfvFn2ew71b680OgES . BTW - I’m no CAL programmer or expert of any kind so I can only help with the resources above. Hope it helps. It’s everything I could find on the Net about CAL. -
Ive not seen anyone mention this: The bottom line is that hardware does break so a long shot; is it possible that the USB port you are connecting to is faulty. Try another one. Try another device in the port in question. Sometimes Power settings deep in the advanced power management settings of windows can cause USB ports to shut down prematurely.

As the title suggest- Can anyone recommend a dealer offering a good discount on (WUP) Waves Update Plan? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Suggest you contact @Jim Roseberry, he’s a long time Cakewalk user, musician and his company, Studio Cat make DAWs among other systems. He also consults (for a modest fee) and will provide a parts list for a self build. it’s a great service because he knows which bits are compatible, reliable and suitable for your specific needs. contact him at the above through this forum

Another recommendation to get some pro advice from Jim as to what to build or buy. -
Presonus driver (Universal Control) on win10 and win7
Michael Vogel replied to RummieGit's topic in Computer Systems
I have a dual cassette deck, a VHS recorder, even a standalone CD/DVD player recorder - just in case but it’s been years since I’ve had any use for them. I have a similar timeline that covers PCs and their ancient OS’s going back to win 98se I think, in the end I use Win 10 21H1 Its the latest designation I think. I believe the reality of working with technology is to work at the front of the development line not bringing up the rear. There was a time when having the ability to time travel to meet a clients needs meant something, now it’s just a cluttered mess that would be better off in a museum than taking up precious space at my place. The various OS’s are simply images taking up a few gigs of space on a hard drive with some limited ancillary hardware to make it work if needed. Can’t remember the last time I did however. -
Thanks Kevin for helpful info. I’ve never run a VM so know nothing of the vagaries involved. Thanks Jack, Clearly there’s more suitable places than here for in-depth information , however I saw it as a simple Yes or no type answer. Also it was just convenient to ask as I was on the forum here, saw the Computer section and noted that the rules for posting here didn’t expressly forbid such a question even though not music or Cakewalk related.

So did anyone follow up on Noel’s request to send in a project so that they can look at it because what’s being reported is not the expected behaviour.

My Music PC (Win 10 Pro Latest version) has 6 HDD 1 x M.2 NvME and 2 SSD. I want to setup a Virtual Machine to run Home Assistant as a trial along with some other home automation programs.. Will all the programs setup to be running on the VM continue to run when I switch back to Win 10 Pro side of things. Assume the PC will be on 24/7. Suggestions/advice welcome. Thanks in advance of being overwhelmed by positive and useful responses.

Look I’m sorry to have to say this, as a cat owner, I mean as one owned by cats, please stop the distasteful cat pics. If you don’t desist I’ll just have to report the posts to my cats. ??
