Alternate note names for plug-ins have always been per-track, however; prior to 2021.06 they had to be set every time the track was opened in the PRV.

This was how the feature was originally designed.

For 2021.06, the feature was modified to store the setting in the project in order for note names to persist across sessions.

For me,  the note names do not persist across sessions.  I have to re-select them again each time from the Notes Names dialog.  I normally open PRV by double-clicking the track (MIDI or SIT).  I'm running the latest CbB (2022.11).  Is there perhaps some setting I'm missing?

Have been tempted to try the DSF Proteus library for Kontakt since my hardware UltraProteus went belly up, but am afraid I will be disappointed by the usual 'static' nature of sampled hardware even if it's been dressed up with Kontakt features. Watched for it to go on sale, but it never has.

    Anybody have it?

    New sale just started.  https://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/product/e-mu-kontakt-proteus-legacy/

Umm, maybe I'm missing something here.

Double-click the clip to select the track.

If track 1 is selected and you click a clip in track 2, track 1 remains the "Selected" track while track 2 becomes the "Current" track. But if you Double-Click a clip in track 2, then track 2 will become both "Selected" and "Current".

That does seem to work, but ONLY if I have

Options -> Click Behavior -> Double Click -> MIDI Clips -> -Nothing-

(I normally have it set to Piano Roll View).

(The one that appears under Region FX in the context menu when you right click a clip.)

I use Melodyne Studio constantly, and have zero use for VocalSync, V-Vocal, or Drum Replacer.

I'd like to put Melodyne at the top of the list and/or remove the other three altogether, such that getting to Melodyne's sub-sub-menu (Create Region FX, etc.) is less fiddly.

A partial solution, is to use the default shortcut CTRL+M to "Create Melodyne Region FX clip".

Is there an easy way to select all midi notes that are muted? (I'm trying to delete them) I thought Event Filter would allow, thinking muted may mean velocity = 0 but that's not the case and I don't see any option for muted.

One way would be to Bounce the clip(s).  That will remove any muted midi notes.

Excellent way. It is possible to check the recording version of the project.

However, the code used is not the same as what we currently see.

I think it would be the case that there is more equal information between the column shown in the CWAF and the help screen of the current version.

FYI, here's my understanding of the differing version numbers:

The "Application help screen" format is:  YYYY.MM  bbb

But the CWAF format (for CbB) is:  YY +6 . MM . 0. bbb

So, in your example of "Version 2022.06 and build 008", CWAF would report that as 28.06.0.008.

And going the other way, a CWAF of 24.11.0.31 would correspond to 2018.11 build 31.

Note: The CWAF format is a bit different for the older pre-CbB files:

       SONAR 1-8 (correspond to 2001-2008):  Y +9 . v1 . v2 . bbb.   E.g. the last SONAR 8.5.3 was 17.5.3.282
       X1-X3: Don't know
       Platinum: Don't know

Just my understanding ... I could be wrong.

  7. One way would be to run the CWAF (Cakewalk Audio Finder) tool, which reports (among many other things) the Cakewalk version.  For example, the latest version of Cakewalk is 28.02.0.039.

You can find the CWAF tool in Cakewalk in the Utilities menu.

You can click Help in CWAF for the documentation.

  8. Maybe it has changed since yesterday, but it seems like the $19 is for an upgrade (from Scaler 1).

The full version is on sale, but  for $49 (16% off)  ... which still seems like a good deal.

  9. I always use a PPQ of 600, just so that note durations are in nice, round numbers, and easier for me to work with:

    600  Quarter
    400  Quarter Triplet
    300  8th
    200  8th Triplet
    150  16th
    100  16th Triplet
     75   32nd
     50   32nd Triplet

UPDATE: I have attached a modified copy of the problem project. Took out all the audio, plugins, and left only the MIDI. If anyone has the time, you are welcome to load the file and try to shorten the tracks that go out to Measure 170. If you get it to work, Please send me the step-by-step workflo, including menu options.

I must admit, I am baffled too.  However, I was able to get it working, by bouncing to clips:

I selected all the clips (Ctrl+A) and then right-clicked on any clip and selected Bounce to Clip(s).

BTW, I really enjoyed your catchy tune!
