  1. ok i think im finally getting it..

    2 things....

i have successfully created the drum bass and assigned all my separate drum tracks and it is working properly...

but, is it my imagination or does this newly created drum bus sound ever so slightly different than the individual trax?

i mainly perceive a difference in the stereo/pan field...it seems a little narrower?

also  what is the purpose of the AUX track ( vs  a bus )..how does one typically use it?

    Thanks

  2. thanks for the replies maybe im misrepresenting myself..

lets say  i have 5 channels of drums eg kik snr hats and rak1/2

i have eq ed them and put fx on the individually ...

now i want to send them to a bus so that i can control

volume and put more comp or eq over all the drum trax

what i dont want is the former individual trax to be audible

except thru the bus channel..i know i was reading somewhere once that this was

an often done thing in multi track recording

  3. hello all

ive seen lots of youtube clips about this but i just dont get it..

i can set up a bus and use that as an effects send..i understand that  but,,,

what i want to do is send all of my guitar tracks to a send and runs some eq and fx over them.

from what i can gather this is different to just sending them to any old bus

    is this right?

what is the best way to do what i need?

    dumb ,i know

    thanks

  4. Hi all..

I just bought a 1 TB samsung 860 EVO  (so nothing to do with quality of drive)

I copied all the stuff from the mechanical drive I had been using over onto it.  (cakewalk files loops plug ins etc)

and the ssd will chug every now and then when im looping a section for

mixing purposes (no nothing to do with too many plug ins)

go back to the mechanical,  zakly the same number of plug ins ..no chugging ...smooth

they are both use my external usb 3 drive caddy ..so what do you think ?

    I know im disappointed.

  5. hello all...

i have a behringer X touch it works properly...

    my question is this:

    I have a project with 8 tracks

I then archive 4 of those tracks

but X touch still references those tracks

i.e. if i archive those 8 tracks and create another 8 tracks (TR 9-16)

Xtouch still sees the first 8 archived tracks and i have to move the X touch

to the next fader bank to see the newly created tracks

what i want is X touch to ignore the archived tracks ...Make sense?

    thanks

  6. thanks for the replies...

i dont think i fully explained my problem..

i tried the solutions offered but still had the same problem.

i can freeze and copy/clone to another track but when i unfreeze the synth track the  copied track disappears.

this is what i want to do..i have several midi tracks all hitting the one synth

i want to freeze each of those tracks to seperate audio tracks but i cant do it.

whenever i freeze a track it disables the synth and i cant make it active again ive tried "undo bypass and even tho the light comes on it still doesnt react to midi input.

    what am i doing wrong??

    thanks

  7. Hi all..first new build in ten years.

up till now my requirements have been met by my core i7 860 2.8g

but i feel the need to upgrade...so i think it will be either a

i7 8700k or a 9700 kf (also not sure what the difference with the 9700k  is)

32 gig ram /ssd  quit quality P/supp  etc

But my main question is what motherboard

im in aus so the latest gigabyte Z390 start at $230 ish and go to 285 (auros elite) and up to 385 (ultra)

im thinking somewhere in the middle (285) perhaps some one can guide me

is there something i definitely need my M/B to have or is just get the most you can afford,

any suggestions will be a great help.,.

obviously if i was in the states i would just get somebody like Jim Roseberry to build it for me.

but down here we dont have any i can trust

    With thanks

    whoops almost forgot ...monitors.

been a while since i investigated and there seems to have been a revolution in this area ...

ips... pls    4K     resolution? will buy 2 big ones  27 or 32"
