    SOLVED

    Just thought I'd UPDATE everyone on the issue of channels being in use by another application. Despite me disabling any other audio drive in the Device manager, I was still getting the same problem of something using my channels in Sonar using ASIO mode. 

    Anyway, this issue is now solved. I've just reinstalled Windows 11 and installed Cakewalk. Removed the WEBCAM I had been using completely from USB slot. No problems this time.

    It was the webcam that was the culprit.

    A cursory search reveals several people using CbB on W11 without issue. Your interface is rather old, FireWire has fallen by the wayside and as mentioned previously it is quite possible that the drivers are no longer compatible.

    Me, I am not an early adopter. I'll let others do the beta testing for new OS releases.

    No worries, my friend. I have been using my Echo interface (with ASIO driver) without any issues before on Win 11. It's just that reformatting and reinstalling Win 11 this time seems to  have added another hidden gremlin.

    Updated the title to a more appropriate issue. I will, of course, get back to this forum if/when I ever solve it. Thanks.

    FWIW, I recommend using the on-board Realtek audio you almost certainly have for all Windows sounds (random beeps, Youtube, WinAmp, etc.) and using your AudioFire 8 only for Cakewalk.

    Don't let other applications use the AudioFire, and there shouldn't be an exclusivity issue.

    I am using CbB.  I have used CbB on Windows 11 without problems, I reformated my PC and reinstalled CbB - now I have a problem with the ASIO drivers. I can only guess that it is an update to Win11 that has created this issue. If anyone has any info that I'm missing, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Not able to open old projects with Breverb plugin

    As per title. I have old projects from about 3 years ago. I try to open them but cakewalk flickers into life and then shuts down. Using the safe mode, I have pinpointed the issue to be with projects where I have used Breverb. Anybody else had this problem? Of course, I could open the old projects with safe mode, insert breverb then, and save, but I just wanted to know if there was any way of reopening these old projects with breverb still intact. Any help appreciated.

    Just tried it; not sure how to get rid of ".cwp" though. Not sure if there is another solution.

    This grooves so hard and every element flows. Nothing gets boring because there is a change coming in 8 measures tops.

    Only critique is perhaps cut the intro some, get to that groove sooner?

    Wow! Thanks so much to everyone for the warm words of encouragement. I can't tell you how much I appreciate them. This music was partially inspired after I had seen a Hans Zimmer concert in Liverpool - what an incredible gig! Myani was the working title I gave to the project. This is why I adore this DAW - it is so versatile.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Gswitz. I tried it but no luck - Dim Pro still doesn't want to open and I still get the white hanging box. I even deleted every single track and buss, added a midi track and a master buss - saved the project in a different name and tried to add ad Dim Pro - again no luck. It's a mystery.

    Thanks for the reply. Yes, graphics card Nvidia 680 drivers are up to date. As mentioned before, Dim Pro opens up fine in a new project. There is something about this old project (which I'm working on) which doesn't seem to like Dim Pro. I have even deleted all the tracks and busses (except for Master) and still, Dim pro does not open.  I just have a feeling that my detuning Dim Pro has done something to do it - but I can't change the tuning as I can't open up Dim Pro in this project.

    I posted this in the old forum without any response so hoping I get something in this new forum. 

    Scenario 1:  Open new project. Insert Dimension Pro. Synth loads perfectly well.
    Scenario 2. Open old project which has various audio tracks and soft synths (including dimension pro - organ sound). Click on add new synth, dimension pro. The result is that Dimension pro does not load and i am faced with the Dim Pro interface being completely white.

    I have opened the project up in safe mode and deleted ALL the soft synths and then attempted to load Dimension pro again. Result Dimension Pro white screen crash.
    I have opened up the project and deleted ALL the soft synths in Synth rack. Dimension pro still does not load. 
     The only thing I can add further is that I altered the tuning in the  Dim Pro organ sound in the old project. I can't think of anything else!

    Any help appreciated.
