  1. Thanks for posting about this. I was not aware. I might just go ahead and drive up to Indiana for this (from St. Louis, MO). Several times over the years I have wanted to get up there and see the new place. The photos of it are incredible. The list of presenters have some names that I would very much enjoy meeting. 'Going to look into motel rooms now.
  2. Well, if I gave you the details of the cases it would become obvious from their nature. Obviously, why bother?
  3. Sorry, no. I was referring to the site with the article of the original post in this thread. FWIW, I attempted to correct some things in Wiki a few years ago but the liberals kept changing things so I gave up. And Wiki has changed history on some things that I know for fact are different than what is in their volumes, so I now realize that it's just another tool of the globalist propaganda network.
  4. I'd like to add a comment on that site, but I'm not sure if what I would write is true anymore. Can somebody let me know on the following? 1) Was not Sonar the first DAW to be able to be used on dual monitors, i.e. free to move components to the other monitor outside the main program window? 2) Do all DAWs now have dual monitor capability?
  5. Sorry, Bill. I really dislike that song. I am not a fan of the Dregs, even though I bought a couple of their albums. Taxing to listen to a lot of that. I think you are impressed with technicianship more than song composition and melody. If you have High Tension Wires, or The Introduction, or Stand Up, then you know there's a big difference in them vs. what he did formerly with the Dregs.
  6. I was a fairly big fan of Steve Morse so I gave those 3 tracks a listen, and I could not listen past halfway each. No melodic content for my ears. But if you don't have Steve Morse's "High Tension Wires", that's the one to put at the top of your listening list. Every track is bursting with "Man, this is great.!" But there are a few discs by Morse that I have difficulty listening to, similar to the above tracks. 'Goes aimless.
  7. Your guys' help videos are truly fantastic. I had never seen posts like these until this site. And I'm on several different music and gear sites. Great work from you!
  8. Are you playing your actual guitar into those Amps, or are you using something else as a sound source?
  9. I bought these again from the American Licorice Company, special order a few months ago. Fantastic!
  10. Have you been made aware of this yet? Relish Guitars out of Switzerland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_fqLR0dRTw
  11. 1) What is this thread's question actually asking? Is it something specific to "automation" within the DAW? 2) The OP makes me beg this second question: Can I buy an electric guitar VSTi plugin that uses Kontakt Player 5 or 6? I've been thinking of buying Orange Tree Samples electric guitar which utilizes Kontakt Player. Is this going to be a problem for CbB? I'm asking because the original question is making me wonder if there's something important I need to know before buying a VSTi that uses Kontakt Player that I intend to use CbB.
  12. If money is not an object, I don't think anything comes close to Fable Sounds "Broadway Big Band". A few months ago they offered a 50% off sale so maybe near the end of this year they'll do it again. https://fablesounds.com/broadway-big-band/
  13. I just read and listened to a number of posts and videos on the new Arturia Compressors. https://www.gearslutz.com/board/musikmesse-2019-a/1258628-arturia-releases-3-compressors-youll-actually-use.html I know that we have several to choose from in CbB (BT Compressor CP2S-3, BT Compressor FA770-3, Compressor/Gate, LP-64 Multiband, Sonitus Compressor, Sonitus Multiband). I have not yet used any of the bundled compressors in CbB yet, but as an owner of some Arturia software, I can get the new offering of the 3 compressors (which include sidechaining, of which I know nothing about, but everybody raves about it) for $69 until April 19, 2019. Should I buy these and add them to the arsenal to have ready to use, or no? Anybody have thoughts on this?
  14. SCook, I opened a new project based on the instructions from that link in CbB. All works as described. I then dragged some beats over from AD2 into the MIDI track (#15). Fine. But then I added a Lounge Lizard Session 4 keyboard and when I play my MIDI controller, it's playing both the keyboard sound AND drums. Procedurally, how do I turn off the signal to the AD2 drums at this point, so I can hear only the keyboard sound from my MIDI controller?
  15. SCook, I installed those templates from that link into X3 Producer BEFORE I installed CbB. Do I need to do anything now to get CbB to utilize those templates for drums, or are they somehow automatically available for me in my CbB setup? NEVERMIND. I see now that I do need to add those files into the new locations. Did it.
  16. I totally groove on the skylight interface and don't want to see it go anywhere. As for the minimizing tracks to skinny lines, Cakewalk has had that for many years, called the Navigator view. One author's book referred to that view reminding him of the 1980's video game "Defender", which it actually does resemble if you were around then and remember the game. Regarding colors, I actually do prefer X3 Producer look with the greys, over the new CbB dark theme. I've voiced my opinion on soft synth colors, numerously and for years all over the web. The developers seem to love eye fatigue to the max always using very dark colors for their themes, go figure. Lastly, if you're going to use your DAW seriously, then by all means get a 2nd monitor which Cakewalk takes advantage of in the best of ways. Even if your main PC is a laptop, get a 2nd monitor. You can have your Track view on your primary monitor and have your Bus Controls maxed out on your 2nd monitor and when you need it, click B for Browser and I for Inspector, and your workflow should be primo.
  17. Quick glance at it: Almost 2200 pages. Table of contents looks thorough. You can use Search (Control+F for Find) and (Shift+Control+F for advanced Search) in Adobe Reader. Graphically appealing
  18. Deleted. Best posted in a different thread.
  19. Yep. Anybody that does not make an image backup of their C-drive onto another separate drive, is just asking and waiting for disaster. For Windows 7 - Norton Ghost v.15 ($15 on Ebay), and if you have Windows 10 there is Acronis and 2 or 3 others. Cost is around $40? It's the absolute first thing you do to your computer after buying or building it. There's no excuse for neglecting this procedure. And then you continually make new backup images with that software over the life of your computer after you install new software that you are confident is good and does not need to be uninstalled. You restore your backup, then install your new tested software, and then immediately backup image it again. So your image backup is always 100% clean, reliable, and up to date allowing you to restore and be up and running again in minutes. I have copies of my backups in several locations, for all my computers.
  20. Your idea is like coming to BandLab in reverse, which I see your idea, but I also think it poses some logistical problems that would have to be worked out. One guess might be that individual PCs require some type of additional software to be able to do a peer-to-peer thing, especially since you envision 4 people working on the project at the same time. Also, why would 4 people open up 4 different projects at the same time? I think BandLab's current method is best, but it needs to upgrade the plain vanilla DAW to the upscale CbB. And then of course, the whole BandLab site is not run nor managed properly. Mislabeling of genre's by the people uploading, and permission issues, etc. I wrote a more thorough list in a different forum here. Don't ask me where.
  21. Ok, thanks. I actually have a Wave Editor 2 by CyberLink (the very popular DVD Blu-Ray software company), that I have not even used once. So you use the Wave Editor for just that purpose - to edit the wave and prepare it for use in whatever sample playback system you have, i.e. Session Drummer 3.
  22. This sounds very cool to do. I have SD 3, but I got lost when you said to load them into Wave lab. Is that something we all have in CbB? Can you explain a little more?
  23. The guy's presentation was so good that I did watch the whole thing. He's talented at keeping his audience - intrigued, amused, laughing. I was surprised in all the math talk no mention of the 12th root of 2. No biggie. Bottom line - I preferred the A440 segment as superior to the A432 demonstration. I guess I'm ..... what?
  24. Your question should be in the "Cakewalk by Bandlab, Q&A" forum. Read my 2 posts in this link that are related to your question, and might just be what you are looking for.
  25. First things first. Unplug the MIDI cable(s) from your PC. Do your audio synth recording. Listen to mix. Problem persist? Then you have somehow recorded drums into your tracks, and it has nothing to do with your keyboard. No drums like you would expect? Then good. So now you're left with whether or not it's important to you to have your MIDI cable(s) connected while you record audio synth. It bothers you that you should be able to keep the cable connected without issue, but, but (and I have this problem with my Kurzweil PC3K) the MIDI echo comes back into my Kurzweil and wreaks havoc to sounds inside my Kurzweil. In my case, though, it's a USB midi cable. Trying to isolate these types of things can be a real zinger. Best solution is to disconnect the MIDI cable entirely while recording audio synth.
