  1. I’m doing everything through komplete kontrol including patch selection and using KK to play with parameters from the hw knobs.  Works great and even includes the artist banks in audio previews.  I can see how selecting patches from GUI directly could feel clunky.  KK has definitely brought new life to some older plugins for me.

I'm almost wondering if it would have been better to start all over and use something like Melodyne to fix the piano and leave the rest alone?

Edit: I think you can download a trial version.

Thanks yea.  I have melodyne studio.  I may go back and do that.  I originally wanted to remove everything and with a naked vocal re-orchestrate everything.  The original recording was from late 50’s.  But it was a poor copy unfortunately and I don’t have access to original.  But maybe as you suggested I can fix what is there and just complement it instead.  Good idea.

  3. We keep downloading same files to see if there is an update..I’m in 30 downloads and same version, will report back when I get to 40.  It’s like my socks.  I knew I had a new pair somewhere in there.

They already sell those at Eden Fantasys. Some of them even have tails attached!

I was not familiar with that online store but seems appropriate to start tracking hot plugin deals in this forum for that store to see who catches on and who just buys because it’s a sale and then gets questioned by partner/wife/mom/etc once it gets delivered and they try to install it heheh

Is this any different to the 50% off sale at AAS?

(I don't have an account so can't see prices)

Logging in I see reg at $39 and sale price is $15.95 so just shy of 60% off.

  6. I went ahead and got it.  Also received the personal $5 coupon.  Although I initially assumed from Waldorf (not sure why) but it was from APD so eventually found it.  I like that it’s NKS ready and has been updated a few times since released with some semi recent GUI updates.  At full price might be a stretch but at $24, it’s a great deal. Still sounds great.

  7. Synapse Obsession was released last night.

its their take on Oberheim OB-Xa polyphonic analogue synthesizer.

Obsession brings the power of a great polyphonic vintage synthesizer to your fingertips. It combines the astute modeling of voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), voltage-controlled filter (VCF) and voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA) with a comprehensive individual voice control that has never been done before in this detail.

    it is NKS ready

Cost is $99 (regular price, no intro deal but great price for what you get)

  8. All kidding aside, I really really like Strobe2.  I found a free NKS mapping online and sounds amazing.  For $19 heck of an amazing deal.  MF still showed it as a hot deal when I last checked. Took forver to arrive but highly recommended.  I have Cypher2 but Strobe2 is wow.

I have both - I still use cubase 99.9999% of the time

insane that a nuendo licence doesn’t allow you to open cubase - zero excuse for that IMO

Hi Simon (or anyone else willing to chime in), with the current sale it’s actually cheaper for me to move to Nuendo @$240 instead of upgrade to latest version of Cubase @$299.  Just curious why you prefer to use cubase over nuendo?  Haven’t really been able to pin down what is the main motivation to use one over the other beside some features being released first for one and not the other.  A few others told me they use nuendo for work so have cubase at home so this is why they mostly use cubase.  Anyway, just curious to get your thoughts. Thanks.

  10. Applications are standard size. Packs for regroover and Rythmiq are about 14GB total for all.  They encompass different styles and can be downloaded and installed individually so if you are not into Trap or abstract electrónica, no need to install two of packs for example.  With exception of original pack for regroover, all others have audio demos that can help you decide.  Just check out accusonus website.

  11. Strobe2 finally arrived :)

As Mathew mentioned, they sprinkled in some 0’s and O’s that looked identical.  I used all my hacker skills, ran a few of the sequences that cracked the enigma machine, and eventually broke the code. I am now registered.  About time....

  12. Fyi...found this description on gearslutz thread from someone that uses real thing..might help someone decide.  “It's more of a "sugar" device than a "surgical" device, but I never use it in series with another EQ. It really has a sound when I "open" every band.

The 822 is different than the 825. Where the 822 is a "Pultec" type EQ and the 825 is LF Shelf, 3 bands, and a HF Shelf.”

Others seemed to agree with that description and seem to mostly use it to boost highs.

  13. I paid $59 to upgrade to regroover pro back in dec 2017 and on April of this year they offered me an upgrade to BMB2 for $119. I ended up not upgrading then.  now, I also have an offer to upgrade from regroover pro to BMB2 for $59 so if you guys are being offered same deal for essential, that is a heck of a deal for you. I’m a bit bitter “Essential” folks are being treated same as us “pros” so please don’t rub it in hehe.

In reality, it's good to know more than one DAW. I'm proficient in 5 of them and I'll pick one over the other depending on the material I'm working with or feel that's best suited for the particular project. The reason Pro Tools is still the standard is that they invested a ton of money in the hardware. And probably they never bothered to learn a new DAW.

In addition to learning several DAWs, I’m trying to develop DAW ninja skills by using a blindfold during some production sessions or changing the DAW language to something I don’t speak.  I think I’ve improved my skillset but for some reason those clients have stopped taking my calls.  We did go way over budget and took several more months longer than usual...

Thanks, Kevin.  I have a deal on Metal Room pending in KVR for $40; if the update is $29 I'd save a bit of coin and pick up the Marshall cabs, too.  CPU is a real problem, though.

If I add the upgrade from main page then goes back to $99 when I open cart. If I click on upgrade from details page it shows up correctly at $29 but says upgrade from softube volume 3 which seems to be upgrade from any of the volumes.  Not sure why it picked volume 3 :)

Anyone find an upgrade price from Metal Room or other legacy Amp Room product?  I don't have an account but might pursue the upgrade path if I find one of those cheap.

Upgrade for me is $29.  I have softube volume 4.  Also shows Marshall cabinet collection for $22.  Likely same reason. These might be intro upgrade specials though.
