wow, crazy price; makes me think that we might not get much of an upgrade deal to Gigperformer 4

Agree, when I saw this I thought, great they are trying to get as many people to bite some high upgrade price.  Seems unlikely anyone buying now will get free upgrade to Gigp4

  2. Fyi…can’t use $30 discount coupon with this sale.  If you apply coupon it converts bank price to regular full price.  For 3x banks minus $30 coupon total was $57. If taking advantage of this sale total for 3x banks was $45.  If only buying 2x banks then both options come out to same price per bank ($14).  In my case my $30 coupon expires at end of this month so was trying to figure out if I needed to take advantage of this sale now or could wait a little.

Wow, just saw PlugInGuru’s take on this one: “In all my years of programming this is the closest thing to an Analog synth in software form I've worked with.”

    And it’s Unified.

    PA, here I come.

I really like this synth and best of all full NKS support which makes it extra fun.

FWIW to me evertime I hear a track where the author touts Trillian used for the bass the sounds seem really stale. Not the performance, the sound. YMMV.

Whenever trillian is mentioned, 9 out of 10 people will bring up Charlie Puth’s song Attention that uses Trillian.  It is the go to song to try to win arguments hehe trillian has a lot of sounds that sound great in mixes and are ready to go with minimal processing.  It also has some that are not so great and are older.  Modo bass is really good.  I was thinking more and more about ezbass due to midi implementation. Seemed for quick sketching might be a good tool.

i have trillian , toontrack , scarbee nad the one i love to use is modo bass lol also lately since i got it believe me or not but for simple bass line , korg triton has some convicing in the mix ones lol

Since you are dealing with a plugoholic I have triton and modo bass too.  Only one I’m missing is ezbass hehe. I’m glad there are balanced views so I can pretend I have some self control hehe

  7. You guys are driving me nutz with all this ezbass this and ezbass that.  Only way to squash this is to join you hehe.  Any suggestions based on your experience with toontrack sales when to jump in?  I’m not seeing any sales for ezbass May.  Seems Bestservice and Timespace at $149 are current best deals.

Have both, have used both extensively the past couple months. They have very different sounds and use cases. Vocal Bender is MUCH cleaner, and contrary to what you said, Little Alter Boy is MUCH dirtier...with a few features for more harsh sound design (i.e. the 3 modes + drive). However, Vocal Bender's modulation panel (+ waveform display)  and note specific features make it far superior when doing pitch / formant automation. If I need to automate pitch- say C to F to G# - it takes 2 seconds in Vocal Bender because you can automate using notes (with root key), whereas Little Alter Boy you have to automate the pitch wheel, which can be a huge pain in the *****.

For example - this entire feature set doesn't exist in Little Alter Boy, and is extremely useful (timestamped):   https://youtu.be/v50kOeJBTdQ?t=296

I like the sound of Little Alter Boy better (has a much grittier low fi sound...even in default mode), but much prefer Vocal Bender for complex automation. I really wish these plugins could be combined together, because they both have very useful features, and sometimes I want the sound of Little Alter Boy with the features of Vocal Bender (like amp modulation), and vice versa.

Ya my previous comments were based on initial demo.  I now have all four, alterboy/vocal bender/ovox/vocalsynth and use them in a similar manner that you described.

  9. I have both.  Vocal bender is more like little alterboy (pitch and formant shifting).  Ovox is more like vocalsynth (resynthesizer).

So I use them differently and in my experience haven’t found one can replace the other.
