  1. I liked Tape Face. Haven’t played with it as much as I’d like to but for $25 it’s a steal and on couple of tracks I tried it on it sounded as good as some of my other emulations.

Here is a gearspace thread where others seem to like it quite a bit also:

Everyone is also raving about FILKCHANNEL which is on sale but not on flash sale like Tape Face.  I’ll have to check it out next.

  2. I like supporting new developers when I can. I purchased Tape Face but when I tried to install on Mac it gave me a weird error saying to contact developer.  I wrote them an email and within 20 minutes they replied and told me about the issue they are having with some versions of Mac OS and the installer.  Fix was to right click on pkg and select installer manually instead of double clicking.  Worked like a charm.

What I didn't realize is that NI wants/requires you to go through NA to d/l and authorize everything. I got it all sorted out now.

For 3rd party libraries without an NI serial you may have to use quick load menu in kontakt instead of NA.  But that’s a lesson for another day hahha

  4. If you still have kontakt player available you can right click on any library (or nki) within kontakt and select open containing folder.  This will open the folder where they were installed.

Another way to find out is within Native access to click on the icon (graphic) of any installed library. This opens an info window and selecting installation path tab also tells you where they were installed.

  5. If I can I  use native access to relocate libraries that I previously installed but wanted to move.  I do this usually if I run out of space and move them to a new external ssd.  I first move them and then I right click and select relocate.  I then point them to new location.

  6. This is a pre-announcement of S+A new instrument Landforms.  It hasn’t formally been announced yet but should be any day now. Seem they are waiting for NI.

if you have been waiting for this you can buy it on its own for intro price of £208 or as part of discounted everything bundle for £475 from link below.

    While pricey, sounds amazing

40% off - crossgrade from Cubase is $240, and Comp Crossgrade is $477

    https://new.steinberg.net/promotion/nuendo/

Last year I crossgraded to Nuendo from cubase because $240 was a once in a lifetime reduction in cost due to their 20 year anniversary.  Seems like it will be a yearly thing now haha.  I didn’t activate nuendo 10.5 anticipating nuendo 11 was around the corner.  So this saved me an upgrade cost.  Also nice is you don’t need a usb elicensor anymore which used to put people off.   I really haven’t used cubase in a very long time and I’m covered DAW wise but the generous crossgrade that covered my very old license made it interesting to me so I could dable in film/post work.

Didn't get any discount. All I have is Riffer.

Is your serial registered with Audiomodern? I bought it on PB but never bothered to register it with Audiomodern.  I just did. Was curious if that made a difference fo receiving loyalty voucher.

Classica Double Bass, is a ready-to-go Double Bass library with 2 legato and three microphone positions. We recorded an italian handcrafted 4/4 Double Bass, equipped with Pirastro Strings and played with a signed bow made of pernanbuco.

The simple and modern GUI is designed to have a total control over the sound.

Classica Double Bass is suitable for any genre, both as a soloist and as a cutting-edge bass thanks to its rich harmonics.

Classica Double Bass was recorded at Rocchi Recording Studios, Rome, at 96khz using only top-end microphones.

  10. I was going to ask Fleer if he planned to cook shrimp on the barbie with this one but I guess it’s Austrian and not Australian hahah. We also need an Australian piano so all my jokes work.  I don’t know any Austrian jokes.

  11. I had remembered they sent out a survey and in exchange for replying they sent out a -20% off coupon.  I couldn’t find it as I must have deleted it by mistake but found the Christmas coupon code they sent out.  Surprisingly that coupon worked for -20%.  So I purchased Preparato double bass for $79 instead of intro price of $89. Look for their email from December for -20% loyalty coupon code.
