  1. Hi everyone,

I recently reset my Windows 10 Home and tried to install Cakewalk again.

As you see in the picture  it was "Unable to register the DLL/OCX:RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x3"

Could it be some k?ind of driver is missing

    Thank you,

    Space Kid

Use a drum map or create a step sequencer template. A step sequencer template is an empty step sequencer pattern step up as desired.

After adding the synth, set the output of the MIDI track to the drum map to configure the step sequencer. When using an instrument track, the drum map assignment is made in the MIDI tab of the track's inspector.

Without a drum map loading a step sequencer template performs the same task but must be loaded for each instance of the sequencer.

IOW, a drum map is a per track setting, a step sequencer template is a per-sequencer setting.

Thank you, scook! Informative and helpful as always :)

  3. Hello,

Is there a way to automatically assign names(hi hat, snare, kick etc) instead of notes (Bb3, G#3, E3 etc) in the step sequencer? As much as I love the default drum plugin of Cakewalk I would find it much convenient that way.

Or maybe someone knows a third-party plugin with an intuitive step sequencer?

    Thank you,

The default sample rate for new projects is set to 8000. Is this intentional?

If not try setting it to the same sample rate as Windows audio.

Generally this should be at least 44100.

    Thank you so much, scook!

That turned out to be the problem I guess. I'm totally new to this so probably messed with the sample rate somehow :)

  5. Hi there,

I have been having problems with Audio Settings.  I have ASIO4ALL with settings as in the screenshot. It seems to work fine with included Cakewalk plugins but as I switch to external plugins like Komplete Kontrol (Native Instruments), Syntronic (IK Multimedia) and namely piano instruments it just gives "distorted" beep and stops making sounds.

I tried playing around with buffer size, increasing and decreasing  samples but it did not help.

Sometimes in Driver Settings it shows ASIO4ALL Not Connected.

I also switched to  WASAPI(shared)  it says Missing Audio Outputs.

Please note, I do not have an Audio Interface device. I work only with PC and its keyboard.

    I appreciate your time!

    Thanks,

You can use ASIO4All if you wish. The buffer needs to be set in the ASIO4All software.

Do NOT use the Realtek ASIO driver. It has problems.

With these modifications it was still distorted. I tried lowering Buffer size in Cakewalk and in ASIO4ALL  to the lowest (64) still did not work

Could be the Mixing Latency Buffer Size is too small. Depending on the Driver Mode and interface manufacturer this may be adjusted using the slider or the ASIO client software provided by the interface manufacturer. WASAPI driver mode is not adjustable.

Thank you :) I changed from ASIO to WASAPI Shared(triangular) in Preferences->Playback and Recording. I do not have any interface yet. Just starting out so.. But I have downloaded ASIO4ALL.

  8. Recently I got kind of "distorted" sounds from every instrument. I don't know how.

I could not disable it. I bypassed all the effects on FX Rack. It didn't help.

When I exported the track it sounded normal, without any effects.

Any idea how to turn off the effect?

    Thanks
