  1. Here is a quote from Heavyocity from the VI-Control : It seems the original Damage was created with a partner agreement with Native Instruments but Damage 2 is all Heavyocity. There is an additional $100 discount on Damage 2 if you already own Damage 1.
  2. Here are some videos I have done covering various VI Labs libraries, and I have to agree Modern U is the real deal!
  3. An unexpected journey into felt. It was a fun time, thanks to everyone who joined in live. Here is the edited replay.
  4. Join me for my walkthrough of the latest expansions to the VSL Big Bang Orchestra: Lyra and Musca! These are very powerful string ensemble libraries. They are available for a special intro price and offering a 30 day demo (USB e-licenser Key required). See you there!
  5. @Christian Jones, so sorry you are having issues. So when I first started using Signature Grand one of the things that took me off guard was that it uses a lot of effects processing in many of the patches to create a "mastered" or "characteristic" sound. I was hearing it hit a limiter it seemed then I was able to understand what was going on when seeing what other users and the developer explained things. So one of the first things is that the way the signal path is set up, the levels of the mics affect how hard the under the hood effects chain is being hit, so I would try that and see what results you get. You can also click on the "wrench" icon to see more of what is going on behind the basic interface. I do know there has been a recent update that addresses some of the hard limiting sound and there are plans to further refine the interface to give us a better way to control things. Here is a link to download the update: https://simplesamsamples.s3.amazonaws.com/SG_6-19-20/Signature_Grand_071920_Update.zip Also here is a great thread on VI Control that has a lot of good information on Signature Grand, and the developer seems to be active there. https://vi-control.net/community/threads/simple-sam-steinway.93956/ I will also see if I can load this into Kontakt 5 (I am currently at v6) and see what I find out.
  6. I have really enjoyed my time with Impact Soundworks Pearl. It is a very punchy yet warm Yamaha C7 Kontakt library (also compatible with the FREE Kontakt Player). Check out my walkthrough of this wonderful library.
  7. When doing my review for Sample Logic's Symphonic AI, I noticed lots of dropouts when loading new patches and other operations. I found a solution in the Audio Configuration file. I hope this might also help other users experiencing the same issue. Go into Preferences | AUDIO | Configuration File * Look for Dropout Msec and increase it to a value that feels comfortable. I just chose 2500 and it seems to work. * Then go further down and modify the Thread Scheduling Model to 2. There are other modes but 2 has been the most stable for me.
  8. Craig, This one really stands out, very well done.
  9. Here is the link to the Premier! Should start at around 7:15 EST!
  10. I just got this yesterday and have really been enjoying it! I am doing a Premier tonight (just now uploading) on my walkthrough. It will be on my channel here: http://www.youtube.com/prasietracks Please join me!
  11. I am really enjoying Piano In Blue from Cinesamples. The story behind it is very inspiring to think you are playing virtually the same piano Bill Evans, Glenn Gould and many others played when they recorded their iconic projects. Join me as I premier my review as well as having fun with this historic library.
  12. I thought I would share a review of the VI Labs True Keys Bundle that is on special for $99 at Audio Plugin Deals. https://bit.ly/Audio_Plugin_Deals-True_Keys_Bundle This is a great trio of pianos from VI Labs that I have been using for a couple of years and thought now is a great time to feature them in a video review. Come join me for the premier (should be a little after 7:00 PM once uploading is completed):
  13. Here is the livestream replay. Had a lot of fun with this one, as well as some inspiration at the end, Enjoy. Symphonic AI | Animated Intelligence For Kontakt | Sample Logic and Red Room Audio
  14. I have used a lot of Steinberg libraries over the years and the Vienna libraries use the same key so it worked out fine. The Big Bang Orchestra sounds are very nice.
  15. I was so excited to be able to feature Symphonic AI in my most recent livestream. Here is an edited replay of my experience, I hope you enjoy? Symphonic AI | Animated Intelligence For Kontakt | Sample Logic and Red Room Audio
  16. Well what I am discovering is they basically have taken their concepts from their older libraries (Morphestra, Cinematrix, for example) and paired those initial ideas with a refined approach that for me started with Motion Keys. These are not what you would call orchestral phrases but an improved twist to how the arpeggiating engines work as you can introduce subtle randomness and other nuance with it. Motion Keys brought a new way to interact with the library’s presets and sound sources in a more efficient way. The GUI approach is so much better and intuitive. When I was reviewing Morphestra, while I would say it was very powerful and dynamic the workflow was hard to work with, and while it would be a huge project I would love to see them move some of the older libraries into this new approach. The greatest flexibility is that you have so many things you can do with each soundcore independently, and you have 4 of them to work with. Also using an XY controller is another step to take things a little further. I had been using my KORG nanoPAD for this but the SL88 Grand has an XY joystick built in which is absolutely perfect for this. The orchestral material sounds very good to me, and like other observations this is not something that would necessarily replace a traditional orchestral library but it is like the match that can help get fresh ideas and starting points to build on to create something new. So I say all of this to say, we shall see 🤓 I so appreciate being a part of this family of wonderful friends and gifted musicians.
  17. Their Pearl Concert Grand (Yamaha C7) is very nice. I am going to be reviewing it very soon.
  18. I have this and if everything works out I will do a livestream on Friday around 3:00 pm. It is building on concepts from previous Sample Logic libraries but refining them in a really good way. One of the best updates is the preset browser. It makes it very easy to find what you are looking for. Stay tuned 📺
  19. I really enjoy using Trackspacer, it is a great tool to use to get a vocal to sit well in a mix.
  20. There is a user preset area. When you have made changes to an existing preset just type a name for your new preset in the Preset Name Dialog box and click Save, This will save the preset in the User Presets.
  21. Absolutely, and then you can go from there thanks to the modular approach. It is a very interesting library for sure.
  22. Here is the edited and indexed replay for my latest journey into the VSL Universe. I hope you enjoy the ride?
  23. Our journey into the VSL Big Bang Orchestra universe was an amazing ride indeed. I want to thanks to Ben from VSL for joining me and assisting in answering questions and helping me navigate a few things. I will be editing the replay and uploading soon but the full live stream replay is available below. Thanks to everyone for their support and I hope you enjoy being a part of my journeys to all of these incredible destinations?
  24. This is a very nice upright library. Quick Look | Sonic Atoms - Novel Piano | Free Library for HALion | Livestream Replay The Prayer | Featuring Sonic Atoms Novel Piano | Impromptu Playthrough
