OK, I'll do likewise, since I don't know any better.

In my case, someone with little free disk space and a DAW plugin scan that takes a while. Don't worry - I'll probably get round to clearing it up and then I'll be back wanting every deal again soon. 😁

Gig Performer 4 has become my preferred plugin host for plugin maintenance (deleting unused/unwanted/non-working AU/VST/VST3 plugins) as it scans new plugins incrementally.  Once I have my plugin directories cleaned up, then I go to my other DAWs to scan/categorize.

  3. Couldn't hold out.  Purchased the 5-pack for $35 (thanks to Jam Points).  Got Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip, FAME Studio Reverb, and The Farm Stone Room.  Trying to figure out which two of TASCAM Tape Collection to get.

  4. Hm.  This’ll be a great way for me to almost top off my T-RackS from the group buy.  I’m only missing 7 of the latest.

    $50 - $15 (Jam Points) or $35 is a great price for:

    - The Farm Stone Room Studio Reverb

    - Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip

    - FAME Studio Reverb

    and two of

    - TASCAM 388

    - TASCAM Porta ONE

    - TEAC A-3340S

    - TEAC A-6100 MKII

Any suggestions for the tape emus?

    Very tempting.

Not sure I can hold out for a MAXgrade to Total Studio 4 MAX.

Also, if you look at it, ToneX is $99 on sale with 400 models. SE is $49 on this sale with 200 models. I just wonder this is a good entry to get into for future upgrades to ToneX max. As I am sure I will get it at some point.

If you have a use for interfaces, iRig HD2 on sale for $99.99 or Axe I/O ONE for $129.99...

I picked up the Axe I/O ONE and used up 39 jam points (and comes with TONEX SE and Amplitube SE).  I consider it a bargain since it include Z-TONE.

TONEX SE unlocks the unlimited downloads of the free tone models as well as capturing so it's a pretty full featured SE product.

The TONEX Pedal (for $399) comes with TONEX MAX.  If the pedal is something you'd want, that's a pretty good way to get MAX.

  6. Aside from this deal, seems all the SE products (AmpliTube, TONEX, SampleTank, T-RackS, etc.) are only currently available as part of their hardware bundles.

Depending on how much all these add-ons combined cost, you're better off buying an interface which comes with an Artist license.

I definitely agree with this, especially if you include the Presonus Studio Magic Suite into the equation and are starting out from scratch.  It’s arguably the most generous and useful bundle amongst the different hardware vendors.

Be aware that the flanger is pretty useless for live use...I was playing my guitar through it and immediately noticed a latency. Looked up the manual and sure enought there is a 50ms latency.

If you have Amp Room, try using Fix Flanger within it.  I get 3 ms of latency in Amp Room vs. 60 ms standalone (according to Gig Performer).

Studio One Prime is now only available in the Studio One 6 Professional demo available from your PreSonus account. Don't understand why PreSonus stopped promoting it with a separate download. It is not explained on the website. 🙄

Thanks.  Turns out that it’s all the same package, just with different features turned on.  When you activate, there’s a choice of Sphere, an existing purchased license, the full version for a time limited demo period, or Prime.  So, you can just activate Prime directly if you want.  Glad Prime is still available (not for me but for being able to point others to it).

It appears that Studio One Prime stopped at version 5.something, no version 6 for that.

S1 6 Prime was introduced soon after Pro and Artist were, evidenced by this: https://pae-web.presonusmusic.com/uploads/bronto/files/presonus-so6-compare-versions_1_.pdf.

I can't find it on the current web page anymore.  If they discontinued it, that is unfortunate.

Update: actually, the above is evidence that they intended to release S1 6 Prime at some point.  I don't know if they ever did.

Not really. You could always buy Artist since version 1. This is not like Ableton Live Lite, Bitwig 8-track or Cubase LE which you can only get with some pieces of hardware and the manufacturer has to give you essentially free upgrades to the next version, since this is not software you can buy (I can't speak for Bitwig, but Steinberg and Ableton will give you free upgrades to the next Cubase LE and Live Lite versions). Studio One Prime was introduced in version 3. It is essentially useless if you consider all the limitations it has. But Presonus is known for these strange business models like having a barebones DAW which was not much better than REAPER in v1 and v2, then introduced an intermediate version which was essentially the Artist version with two add-ons you could get separately, then to having a useless free version and what it should've had since version 1. I guess you can't take old strange practices from what is essentially a team of old Cubase devs.

I was responding to a poster that who thought Artist was free.

BTW, IMO, Prime is actually quite functional as a standalone DAW as it provides a lot of functionality for recording audio and virtual instruments (only the built-in ones).  It just doesn't have VST support.  It's the DAW I used during COVID shutdown for a group of students to record.  I would say it's the best free DAW that works on Mac and Windows (but only if you don't need VST).

I might hold onto that for later. Since I have Artist 2, the upgrade to Producer or Professional 6 is almost the price of the full version, so I might save money and upgrade to Professional straight away.

Also, if you didn't know, Studio One 6 Artist now has support for VST plugins, so you could upgrade from S1 2 Artist to S1 6 Artist if you don't need all the advanced features of Professional.

An upgrade now would be to Professional.

There's no current Producer product, though maybe you can pick it up used for cheap.  I got mine up from the XChange Producer Software Collection and upgraded to S1 Pro 5.  The features I like in Pro are Listen Bus, Mix FX, and Show Mode.  I'll probably wait it out for another major release before upgrading.
