Sonarworks also does mix room simulation, but as an addon to their headphone calibration software.

I stand corrected. I looked it up and that add-on was released October, 2023. Thanks. Didn't know that.
In that case, it's worthy of comparison, so I'm looking forward to more users' thoughts as it gets more use.

Wow, no love for Sonarworks?
Sonarworks does headphone calibration. The others also do simulation of the mix room (different studios) on top of that. Just comparing like to like.
Anyhow, there are a lot of pros who use and trust VSX (and gush about it in the forum). I don't get that same impression with the other products.

I'd love to hear the opinions of experienced mixers who've used this plugin.
GearSpace is where I go for that. From my reading, the gold standard is Slate VSX. Realphones is next, and then Sienna.

Is this the first DAW made available for Linux?
Nope.

Also, Ardour/Harrison Mixbus, Reaper, and Waveform.
There are a number of open source DAWs in addition (LMMS, Rosegarden).

It actually didn't last long. When I first looked, it showed the white one. I went and did some research, and when I came back, it was already out of stock. Should've just put it in my cart. Would've been a great deal.

When you want to update the drivers of one of the devices from your motherboard to their latest version you have to go directly to the chipset manufacturer (in this specific case Realtek) and download the driver from their own website.
This is true for Realtek except for their audio drivers which you have to get from the motherboard maker.

I has a quick look over at KVR (I will be disinfecting my soul later today).
There's a couple of threads about the full version: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=582388 and https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=587996 without any negative feedback (which is a shocker for KVR).
Thx. Looks like you can get a 40% off Rewards+ coupon for 1 token. I assume it stacks on the $20 upgrade to Lifeline Console.

Doesn't App Cleaner & Uninnstaller remove such plugins? I'm new in using audio plugins so I need a help.
For me, I only install VST and VST3 plugins so I delete the AU and AAX plugins. This uninstaller helps keep the internal record keeping consistent.
Also, App Cleaner uninstalls apps, but not all plugins install apps in Applications.

From the email newsletter:
Price Increase Coming in 2024
Just a quick note that library prices at my site will be going up around 8% on January 7th ($39 libraries will be $42, $49 libraries will be $52.) Every single cost has skyrocketed in the last 10 years and I have kept the same pricing structure thru all of it: I have not raised my prices since 2013, so it’s time for a slight adjustment.
My suggestion, take advantage of the sale prices now to save even more!

Anyplace to get this other than syntorial itself or the app store? I was hoping for freebees.

I looked in all the usual places and they still show full retail. So, you can choose the 50% off or the freebie. 8P

Tempting. Does anyone know if this unlocks the stuff it comes with (e.g. unlimited downloads for tone models) for the iOS version as well?
Yes, it unlocks the iOS version as well,

They've also removed the upgrade option from any version of Artist to the latest version of Artist for some reason. At least for me, there's not much difference in price from upgrading from Artist/Producer to Professional from buying a Professional license.
Looks like the 30% sale is only on Pro. Artist is still full price. And you’re right. They’ve removed the Artist to Artist upgrade option. Boo.

For those on Apple Silicon, the AU plugin doesn't come up in GP4 and the VST requires running with Rosetta. The plugins are dated from 2015 so they haven't been updated to be compatible with Apple Silicon. They only updated the installers for the new OS releases.
Good thing it works with Unify (and has been Unified).

Wonder how much an extra seat for Studio 5 costs when one already hasStudio 5. It says this can be done but not sure how much it is during this sale. Would be nice to get another Ilok authorization but also don't want to pay much to get it.
Maybe buy a used license of 5 since new licenses are 6.
edit: oops, never mind. Thought it was the Studio One thread.

I'd like to find the plugin that can make my modest acoustic with a sound hold pickup sound like a well mic'd guitar in a room at a no-brainer price.
36 minutes ago, Doug Steinschneider said:Nembrini's Acoustic Voice requires a piezo pickup - it's Martin emulation sounds good. I converted an all acoustic Takamine Jade (budget line they produce) to acoustic electric using a JOYO JE-307 I bought on Amazon for $24. I'm going to try it with Acoustic Voice at some point.
Blue Cat also has a guitar body/pickup emulator that includes acoustics.
Actually, all you need is an IR loader and the right IR. Here's a site with free acoustic IRs: http://acousticir.free.fr/ ... you'll want to find an IR that matches the pickup type.
Following the guitar IR, you could chain compression, EQ, modulation (e.g. chorus), delay, and a room reverb.
That's pretty much what Nembrini's Acoustic Voice is doing but doing it in a single plugin.
For a free IR loader, I'd suggest MConvolutionEZ.
