Does anyone know of a program that's a little more simple than BIAB? I kinda just want something to blast chord progressions in quickly, doesn't really need to sound amazing. Just for practicing.
Check out JJazzLab:
It’s free.

Indeed, it’s $149.99 for an upgrade and $179.99 for Hybrid (paid once for the year). The non-Hybrid cost is $19.99 a month.
I’m pretty sure you’d get all updates for the major version you ended up on. Maybe it’d be a good way to go when you know an update is coming.
This (Hybrid) is quite a deal for those who’ve never purchased Studio One Professional.

Studio One Hybrid is interesting, as you keep a perpetual license of S1 Pro if you stop subscribing.
10 minutes ago, antler said:They've also included a new subscription offering: Studio One+ Hybrid. Looks like if you stop paying, you get to keep the current version of S1 you had. Not sure if you get minor-version updates, but this is a nice idea.

If you buy this, do you get updates for the 28 included synths to the current versions?
I bought V Collection 8 last year and only the following are shown as having upgrades available:
- CS-80 V3 to CS-80 V4
- Prophet V3 to Prophet-VS V and Prophet-5 V
- Piano V2 to Piano V3
The rest of the synths are up-to-date.

For me the only question is when do I need an audience choir?
Makes for a nice pad layer beneath a piano patch.

Thank you!! This is what I couldn't find. Ordered.
And thanks for the wifi idea. That looks promising. Not that expensive.
You're welcome.
It's actually not WiFi but Bluetooth LE (compatible with most recent computers, phones, and tablets).
Here's a search for Bluetooth midi: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=bluetooth+midi
CME is probably the most reliable/premium option.

SOOOO I thought maybe they came out with a very simple/cheap way to convert midi into a USB signal for all that old hardware that we all have laying around.
Cheapest way would be to use a wired interface.

It's not cheap but it's also wireless.

The Mac UltraSpace package is from 2014 and isn't Apple Silicon Native, so I won't be using this on my M1 Mac. I'll probably eventually install it on my Windows laptop to play around with, but I have no shortage of reverbs to use.

Yeah, sorry—someone asked if there was feedback for it and I clearly posted a response in the wrong thread. I really should just carry on working. Thank you.
No worries. I've done the same before on my phone, not seeing the thread title.

I've used it for a couple of hours and it's interesting as an option. I have a load of DynIRs that I used with WoS a few years ago so having those options makes all the difference; the stock cab options are limited. The modeling is OK - nothing that would replace my NDSP or Mercuriall plugins but I haven't tested all the amp heads. I like the workflow - a lot - and the assortment of plugins do the job.
I complain about Amproom CPU on a daily basis, but this one takes the cake. If I were to use it in a session, I'd be constantly printing audio so I could disable the plugin and free up CPU. Apparently, they're working on resolving that.
All in all, it's not going to replace my daily plugins but it's the first time I've messed with NAM profiles which you can load directly in the plugin. Haven't spent a ton of time with that part of the rig but if they sounded anywhere near TONEX models, I'd use Genome in a heartbeat. TONEX is just too much of a rabbit hole for me, and the UX isn't my cuppa.
Are you talking about Genome and not Tonocracy?

The full Mixbox has been on sale for $29.99 (last month). Definitely a good deal when that offer comes around again.

Hmm, it did for me.
My 8 Track license was expired and it gave me a new license with a year on it.
Maybe they 'fixed' that or maybe because mine was expired.Oh, I should've been more clear. If you have an existing unexpired license, it won't extend the license by a year. I had a license with 9 months left, and after redeeming, I still had a license with 9 months left, and new license with 12 months left. Had I known the behavior, I would've waited until my license expired to redeem.

For those who have an existing 8-Track license, if you redeem a new 8-Track license, it won't extend the existing license but just adds an additional license that runs concurrently with the existing one.

Crossgraded to Pigments for $49. I have Analog Lab 4/Pro, Augmented Strings, and V Collection 8 (+ five freebie effects).
It all started with a bundled Analog Lab Lite and I picked up the freebies and upgrades/crossgrades when they went on sale.

Thanks, IK!
I appreciate the Tone Models Browser and User Folders. Much easier to find and categorize tone models. Big jump in usability.

Now that I own VSX, SoundID and Realphones Ultimate I can test all three using my Sennheiser 650s. And I can test VSX vs Realphones using my Slate VSX HPs.
Thanks. Looking forward to the results. Do you also have any Waves Nx?

Sonarworks also does mix room simulation, but as an addon to their headphone calibration software.

I stand corrected. I looked it up and that add-on was released October, 2023. Thanks. Didn't know that.
In that case, it's worthy of comparison, so I'm looking forward to more users' thoughts as it gets more use.

Wow, no love for Sonarworks?
Sonarworks does headphone calibration. The others also do simulation of the mix room (different studios) on top of that. Just comparing like to like.
Anyhow, there are a lot of pros who use and trust VSX (and gush about it in the forum). I don't get that same impression with the other products.

I'd love to hear the opinions of experienced mixers who've used this plugin.
GearSpace is where I go for that. From my reading, the gold standard is Slate VSX. Realphones is next, and then Sienna.

Is this the first DAW made available for Linux?
Nope.

Also, Ardour/Harrison Mixbus, Reaper, and Waveform.
There are a number of open source DAWs in addition (LMMS, Rosegarden).

It actually didn't last long. When I first looked, it showed the white one. I went and did some research, and when I came back, it was already out of stock. Should've just put it in my cart. Would've been a great deal.
