  1. Not sure what the story is. Bought it for $0 at Eventide, got the serial number, loaded ilok but the license never shows up for activation. I can log into ilok or use that app and it's not there. CbB pops up the Eventide activation screen when I scan but the Quadravox isn't in the list to activate.

Yes and this is the 21st Century ...

Edit: I got it working. Not sure what I did, but I followed the link above, put it in the cart, went to check out, filled out everything (name, address, email) and what I thought was a user name and login. I finished up and got an email to download and use iLok for activation. I downloaded iLok, registered but it never showed up in iLok. The request to activate it would show up during the plug in scan in cakewalk but not the option to actually activate it.

After some futzing I went to Eventide and noticed I didn't have a login. I created one and was able to take the SN and code from the email and register it. Bang, it shows up in iLok - Activate - done.

It appears the sale isn't through Eventide but rather Audio Plugin Deals and that is where the first account login is created when you buy it. You still have to create a login at Eventide to register it and then have one for iLok to activate it (and then Cakewalk will stop bugging you.)

A tad tedious if I might say so ...

  2. If in doubt you can open the Resource Monitor and see each core load.

CRTL+ALT+DEL->Task Manager->Click on Performance tab->Click on Open Resource Manager (at the bottom)->Click on CPU tab->On the right is the CPU usage for each core. You might have to click on the arrow pointing left at the top right of the screen to expand it.

  3. I've traced a problem to Sonitus Reverb. I like the sound of the FX but I occasionally have an issue with it popping, peaking the output meters and wreaking general havoc on the audio. It seems to happen mostly when I increase/change the pre-delay/room size or diffusion when playing a song. I've stopped using it for the most part.

It seems to be ok if I change the setting while stopped but what fun is that!?

Is it just a temperamental plugin? I can't associate it to anything else I might have loaded with it.

  4. I've been PMing with AZ about some potential additions to AZ Web. Right now it's strictly stop, play and record.

If we were to ask for a few additions, what might they be? I am thinking in terms of having a tablet or small device I can take into a vocal booth or over to my guitars or keyboards while I record.  I don't need to mix or solo or mute or really mess with any of the tracks really. Just switch things for recording or playback from across the room.

    I was thinking:

    1. Bypass FX

    2. Disable PDC

    3. Master Volume

    4. Reset Audio/Midi engines (screeeech!!!)

    Maybe:

Volume level for a single armed track for record but it would be a problem with several armed tracks.

Anything else specific to remote transport/settings?

    Just thinking out loud here.

  5. The way I do it is create a new stereo bus, change the name to Reverb, insert the reverb of my choice as an effect on this bus, set the output to the master/main bus, turn off the dry signal in the reverb plug in and then add sends on any track I want to have reverb.

There are times when I want some reverb to be different on a couple of tracks than the others. In that case, I just repeat the above but with the different reverb. I can send to one, the other or both depending on how crazy I want to get.

I will occasionally put reverb or echo only on a specific track.

I also do the same for echo, some global chorusing, etc.

  6. It appears to depend on the EuCon interface for CbB that you can't get unless you own a serialized Avid product. Maybe the iOS app is serialized? I couldn't figure that out. You can't create an Avid account for EuCon download without a serial number.

    Edit:

I followed the path to the download for the drivers and get essentially to the same point.

Where might I find the EUCON Cakewalk plug-in so that I can try to work with the Protools Control app?  One link that I found supposedly offers the 32bit and 64bit version but requires an old Cakewalk/SONAR account login to download which I don't have and cannot create:

    https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013271/EUCON-Control-Surface-Support-for-SONAR-X1

I found another link that doesn't require a login, but it appears that it is 32bit and it won't install.

    Thank you,

I've been looking too. CbB docs say to just select it as a control surface but it's not there.  Any attempt to find it always takes you to the Avid site and it assumes you bought something. I'll keep looking.

  8. Is there one that is all buttons and no knobs? I don't need to vary anything, mute, solo etc., I just need a remote transport with some buttons I can use to toggle some functions and control play, record, rewind, rewind to marker, etc.

  9. As the title say, in Events view left clicking on any value will increment it. And I mean clicking on it to select it. Midi channel, measure/beat, etc. Right click opens the Event selection so that works. Holding after left  click correctly changes the value when I move the mouse.

It getting old having to reach for the +/- key to fix it. I did a search in both the manual and online and didn't see anything.

Any idea what is going on? Maybe I am bumping the mouse when I click on it? If so, it's REALLY sensitive.

  10. It could come back on with a stop or playback. I guess if you turned it off with the icon it might come back on with a stop or playback though.  Of course like 50 other things I fail to remember (block size, etc.), I would have to go "oh, yeah, I have it set to toggle in Preference." :)

  11. I have to turn off FX when I record to eliminate the midi note delay and re-enable it on playback. I would be nice to set a flag that would do this automatically. When you hit record (not just arm a track) FX is disabled without having to click the icon. After a stop, hitting playback enables it again.

Something like "Disable FX during Record."

  12. I just saw this searching for a similar problem. If I run two Munt MT32 x64 plugins at once, it get this crackling/sparkling in the sound. Muting one doesn't help the other. And it's only when it's playing a sound. There is no noise when no notes are playing.

If I turn off the "Use Multiprocessing Engine" it goes away.

Not sure what is going on. Without the Multiprocessing Engine, it taxes my m7 pretty good although it's still enough on some complex songs with lots of plugins.

Edit: I did see where Load Balancing is for effects but not instruments so that explains why turning it off has little if any affect. The manual says CbB will still use the other processor and cores when Multi-Processing engine is off but not exactly when.

So far, with MPE off, all the songs seem to be fine even if the processor usage is pretty high. But if it works, I'm not going to worry about it.
