  1. I will say if you look at the software they provide for programming the controllers, including being able to script them in lua, make them an attractive option. Also you can pick the type of controls you find most useful. (I don't own any, but would consider it)

    Haha. Yep.

But I wouldn't tell you to do anything I'm not going to do as well. Which is buy these here this week while they're on sale! :)

Just finalizing a few other purchases before clicking buy on these bad boys on the 1st when the sale ends.

Looking forward to hear how you like 'em.

Thanks for your advice. It may be a little while until I get them.

I found that at Musicians Friend you can get $30 in rewards points, saving a bit more. but they are backordered.

(Musicians Friend noted in case someone else hasn't bought them yet)

  3. If you are speaking about this article (or many like it), it's related to NAS drives in a Synology NAS Case, and it's a warning. There still seems to be discussion about if it is WD or Synology issue, but in any case, not an ideal situation. The drive is not crippled, just a warning (not defending WD,  just clarifying)

  4. Good upgrade prices on the Synth Stack 4 !

New since Synth Stack 3 .. and my upgrade price is $88.55 (not bad for 7 synths)

New! Mercury-6, a meticulous recreation of the Jupiter-6 analog synthesizer, just in time for its 40th anniversary!

New! Novachord + Solovox, a collection emulating two early electronic instruments that were precursors of modern synthesizers.

New! Octave Cat, a meticulous recreation of The CAT duophonic synthesizer unleashed by Octave Electronics in 1976.

New! Harmonia, a wildly innovative original from Cherry Audio, designed to easily create rich, evolving polyphonic tones through its intuitive visual interface.

New! PS-3300, an exactingly faithful virtual analog emulation of the colossal and ultra-rare semi-modular analog polyphonic synthesizer released by KORG in 1977.

New! Pro Soloist, the latest in Cherry Audio's roster of "what if?" virtual instruments that replicates and goes beyond the treasured, preset-based analog synth originally released by ARP in 1972.

  5. Reading the official UAD forums, they are now not only changing what they had said/promised users , but are actively removing that language in various places (both only on their own site, but in external forums) whenever someone in the forum brings it up. It's hard to believe a company can ruin its reputation as fast as Waves did, but seems UAD has now done that.

  6. Yea, their marketing certainly leaves a lot to be desired. They could be more clear.. as for perpetual it says:

    Quote

    Full Integrated Effects Rack

    and then says

    Quote

Standalone effects are available for purchase separately.

    And...

    Quote

1 year of Current All Access including all effects and expansions.

I take that to mean that the effects can only be used inside Current and if you want them for other applications you need to pay for them (which makes sense).. but based on their past, I hesitate to assume that.
