You need to give us cpu hit in daw , in task manager it doesn't means a lot since , in your daw , if only one core is loaded , you get droppoed or crackles starying to appears , even if you 30 % overwall in task manager , hence the pressure we put to dev , to code optimise for Multi core use (thk you UHE !!       , UVI , MOOG are you listeneing , Roland ? lol )

In Studio One's performance meter with one instance loaded in UVI workstation it shows +/- 25%, about double Pigments load. Four instances of HX-20 in UVI workstation do cause an overload.

If I load four instances of Workstation, each with one instance of HX-20 CPU load stays at around +/- 25%

Where Workstation's own CPU meter showed 5% in standalone in the DAW it shows +/- 25% when running in the DAW with one instance of HX-20.

Cool i need your precisions  : Wavetable , are they original wave form in wave table format or just fancy custom ones (or both) ?

Cpu hit : ? (give us if ya can a reference with another well used plugin)

    Thks !

CPU is not something I usually monitor as I seldom have problems.

CPU hits shows as around 6% in the according to UVI Workstation's display, but in windows task manager +/- 0.5%  I suspect the CPU meter in Workstation refers to one core.

    in contrast GForce's  SEM is +/- 0.3% and Arturia's  Pigments from 1.5 to 2.0%

CPU hit in Falcon is a little higher but remains below 1% in task manager

All the samples are in a monolithic *.UFS file. While some have recognisable names like "Harpischord"  they are not realistic but do provide useful sound sources.  In factory presets they are often layered with the conventional oscillator.

EDIT - I should add these figures refer to the standalone versions.

  3. Installed. (I have the Sonic Pass sub) .

Its an interesting architecture with two oscillators with a conventional choice of waveforms and a sample layer with a good choice of samples. The Oscillators and the sample have separate filters both HP and LP with individual resonance.

Its very programable and way beyond rompler territory and I was very quickly creating sounds far from the initial patch. First impressions are its probably one of the most versatile of UVI synth libraries.

EZMIx is for the "quick fix" and yes, you most likely can achieve the same results, but the question
becomes "time".  The amount of time you spend getting those same results vs. just getting those results.
Demo and see if it would benefit you timewise...that's the ticket with EZMix

What I figured, a time saver, as I could get it for $33 including the dreaded VAT from Best Service I decided to buy it. I will hold fire on expansions for the moment.  I am also hoping for occasional "happy accidents" applying random patches to sounds to see what transpires.

  5. I just had a play with Keyboard in Blue. Its a bit of a one trick pony compared to a lot of Kontakt EPs,  but because the amp has be sampled rather simulated which makes a very natural, nice tone.  Its very responsive with good dynamics.  I probably would not have purchased it but I am very happy to have it in the Musio subscription.

If there is a Kontakt version it may be more versatile, I can't say.

Vernon, I took organ (piano and drum) lessons as a kid, but I have tendinitis and play terribly in my old age. But still, considering the deal on the IK Hammond B-3-X at JRR Shop and the "GROUP" discount brings it to only $33.59 USD, and your testimonial in this thread I think is breaking down my defenses.  That price is too good to pass up.

    No brainer at that price.

  7. I can't say I am not tempted but the upgrade discount from my VB3 1 will be all but wiped out by VAT and IK's Hammond B3-X has become my goto and I am pretty happy with it. So buying it would be for the ring mod and the "vocoder" function plus some differences in tone.   Jury's out!

Another great thing about Composer Cloud. I likely would not have tried this otherwise, but Fantasy Series has become one of my favorite orchestra libraries. What a beast of a library.

This is the great strength of CC (and UVI's sub.) I have found I use the things I would have bought far less than ones I would have dismissed.

  9. I updated to the latest version.  The Keyswitches implementation looks pretty good an certainly increases the utility of the player.

Unfortunately I choose the clean install option which is supposed to keep your downloaded libraries.  Unfortunately it seemed to forget the library paths. Even after reassigning the path Musio did not see the content. I had to download the libraries again.

  10. I tend to gravitate to the EW Gold pianos these days for "straight" piano sounds. And I have plenty of alternatives in Kontakt, UVI, Arturia, and Musio including some interesting prepared and cinematic variations so this is going to have to offer something special.
