The biggest advantage for me is being able to put VSTs anywhere in the signal chain.
Having dials to tweak is the icing on the cake.
Exactly!

AFAIK SampleRobot is a one-man company, or very small at least. I don't think I've ever seen it on sale.
I think you are right. Last week I wanted to install a copy of WaveRobot that I purchased in 2007. I was not able to access the challenge and response, so I sent an email to the company. Christian, (person in the above video) got back to me immediately, and helped me get the software installed. I was very impressed, especially since the software was purchased 12 years ago. I really like the features in 6.1, combined with the great customer care, has me seriously considering purchasing it.

I might be wrong, but I think he was referring to Bapu….

here's a way of using any VST as if it was a ProChannel module.
Absolutely awesome tip. Many many many thanks to you! This should be put in the tutorial section.

Great topic. If you have Kontakt, try the Synth patch "Across The Pacific." It's totally in the red.

IMHO the video only shows a small part of the complexity.
I couldn't agree more. In fact, I've gone through pretty much what you have. The reason I posted the video was to show the splitting of the blobs, and too trust your ears, and not what the blob is showing. If something sounds way out, I'll try to correct it, or sing it over.

My emails to Melodyne produced zilch - their position is that it must be a problem in Cakewalk. It's certainly a pain; I keep meaning to un-install and re-install the old version.
I think it is something to do with Cakewalk. I've been using Reaper with ARA2 and it has worked perfectly.

A good video to understand the complexity of vocal editing.

For Brits of a certain age ...
When I saw the post title, I thought the thread was going to be about a new Netflix, or Amazon series...

Or better yet, get Frontier free (you need to sign up for a user account):
Anyone that needs a good limiter should jump on that.

Has anybody ever dragged the blobs to create a harmony part?
Yes. What I do is duplicate the track, and move the blobs up or down, for the harmony that I'm after. You can also enable "snap to pitch," and then move the blobs around. I have Melodyne Studio, so I'm not sure if "snap to pitch," is available in all versions of Melodyne. You can use the formant tool, and the random deviations to make it sound more realistic. Again, I'm not sure those tools are available with your version of Melodyne.
Getting back to your original problem, I'm not sure that is a Melodyne issue. I've been using Melodyne with Reaper, with ARA2 and so far it has worked perfectly.

An unbelievable event. No audio recording exists. The picture is the only thing that documents the event. The article is a good read.

craigb: Now, if you were to find a music video of this event...
It played a lot on MTV in the early 80s. Usually you would see it between a Poison video, and a Frankie Goes To Hollywood video.

A quiet Sunday night in 1953. The Dodgers had just won the pennant. J.F.K. and Jacqueline Bouvier had just married. And four titans of bebop came together in a dive bar for a rare jam session.

I bought my copy years ago and some of the plugs are still in my go-to bin, a couple of them got me to shell out for the big brother version (most notably Unfiltered Audio G8), some of them turned me on to the manufacturers, and others aren't available anywhere else.
I usually buy a copy a couple of times a year, and it is well worth it just for the info in the magazine, but like you, I use a few of their freebies, because they are really good. Most notably is the CM PSP delay. It's a light version of the PSP delay, but there's nothing light about it. A ton of presets, and flexibility. Well worth the price of $4.99 digital download.

I have not seen any ads on this forum.
Well, that settles it. Case closed. No ads are being served on the Cakewalk/Bandlab forum...

Running Chrome, and I see ads. Doesn't bother me. Just checked Firefox, and there are also banner ads.
