  1. Also, be aware that the notes you see are a representation of your MIDI performance, assuming you played it in. If you're not playing exactly in time the notes will be all over the place. You can use Input Quantization to place the notes in the correct spots as you record, mostly, but you still may need to do some editing for a pretty document.

You can do extensive editing to get the notes all lined up, or you may be able to clean them up with Trim Durations and Fill Durations, if your program has those options in the Staff View.

I feel your pain. My older brain's the reason I'm not even going past 8.5 hahaha

I'm still using SONAR Home Studio 6 on an XP machine, but I do have CbB on a W 10 computer and know eventually, I'll have to make the move to it.
But for what I do (recording myself, audio and MID, plus a little editing) it won't be a huge jump. It records just fine.
All the extra geegaws it comes with will just be gravy. Mastering is beyond my ken. Well, beyond my ability to hear what I'm doing.

  3. Oh, it may want to print the entire length of the song, wouldn't it? You can cancel printing once the part is complete, or, copy that part to another project where the entire project is only the length of that clip.
I'm sure there are other ways, too.

. . . and after something dies the smell usually lingers around for a little longer 😉

Could also be proof of a long held belief that after nuclear devastation that the Roaches would be the only thing left alive? ;)

I believe that the Mythbusters showed that the flour beetle would be the last to survive.

Wow, I have JUST do that a few weeks ago. Like totally moved every file from my C drive to an external drive.  I also shut down all abilities to get any updates. Do you mean updating windows or Sonarx3?

The company that made X3 is no longer in business. Their programs and many virtual instruments were bought by Bandlab.

They have released an updated and supported version called Cakewalk By Bandlab, for FREE (for 64-bit Windows operating systems). See the stickies at the top for links to the downloads of this amazing new (and supported) DAW.

  6. We heard so many different kinds of music as we grew up in the '60s and '70s.

I mostly chose rock albums when I bought music, but my mother loved country, so I heard a lot of that. My father loved 'beautiful music' so that was on the radio when he was home from work.

The songs I've recorded have been mostly pop/rock, but I've got a jazzy thing, a couple of countryish  and folky songs, a short classical piano concerto, and a nonsense song. Plus a Christmas song.

  7. Haven't checked today, but yesterday was able to see statistics.

On the plus side, all of that song-cycling counted as plays, so I had more plays than I have in years!

    Thanks for looking.

Heck yeah. And while we're at it we should consider a forum for the girl in the pink polka-dot underwear, because my old band used to dedicate a song to her at every gig, and I guarantee you, whether you're playing in Boston or Moscow, the girl in the pink polka-dot underwear is always there. Salute! B|

Clarify something for me: Is the underwear pink with different colored polka dots, or are the polka dots pink?
