Here in Raleigh, GC and SA are across the street from each other. The music store workforce has just multiplied. Now the GC folks have got an incentive to provide better customer service and to learn more about the products they sell.
Got my Fender 12-string, Focusrite Saffire and SONAR Home Studio 6 at SA. Got my Yamaha MX and Epiphone ES 335 at GC, as well as cords, stands, etc. throughout the years.
Wonder if the prices will go up here? -

in Q&A
2 hours ago, Andrew Carter said:I have been trying to record on Cakewalk by Bandlab for months with no success to date. When I click on Cakewalk a message comes up saying.
"There are no audio devices for the current driver model on you system. Go to EDIT/PREFERENCES/AUDIO PLAYBACK AND RECORDING and choose a different driver mode"
When I do this I find that WASAPI Shared is selected. I click on the + sign to form my track on which I want to record my voice. The "add track" pain appears and I select Audio but the Input says NONE. I arm the track and press record but nothing happens. I am using my Behringer X2222 USB mixer as an interface. Please help if you can.
You also have to select the input in each track, not just in Preferences.

Sorry about that... I'm referring to Cakewalk. I have the latest version and downloads. Now it doesn't work... will play, but not record.
You might want to edit the title of this post with the proper program name, otherwise you will probably get more of the "hey, this is the Cakewalk forum" posts.

Looking to mess around with video with my music. Also may do a funny video for my mom's birthday. Just wanted to dabble.
Where do go? What do you use?If you have never worked with video, play around with one of the basic programs you probably already have on your computer. It's fun!
And educational.
But remember that the Cakewalk programs aren't video editors; they're for synching up and composing music to video. -

One that I did recently with 10 midi instrument tracks
What is the output of these MIDI tracks set to?
A hardware device like a MIDI keyboard or sound module? Or the Microsoft GS Wavetable synth on your sound card? Or a software synthesizer? -

Okay - problem solved - I am posting the answer here for anyone else here who might encounter this:
-Instead of opening Cakewalk directly, open a Cakewalk song file (Cakewalk should load)
-Then, enter and switch the audio assignment in "Preferences" to WASAPI Shared
-worked for me
If the WASAPI drive works well for you, great. I spent some time last night looking at the Lynx offerings (man, those are some good-looking interfaces! And pricey!)
Which one are you using?
In any case, of the ones I saw, only 1 mentioned an ASIO driver, but I can't believe it's not offered with some of their other devices. Or I didn't look for enough.
If it was me, I would try to find out why that happened and get it fixed so the ASIO driver is available.
By the way, from where did you get the ASIO driver? Downloaded from Lynx? Or one that was already on your computer? -
One year is sooner than 2 years.

Delivery drivers in general don't seem to know what they're doing, or how to read a map, even in the days of computer and phone apps that will tell them where to go (😉).
Last week, a food order from a local restaurant never made it to us. No amount of bellyaching filled our stomachs.
Tuesday, we received a Domino's pizza, some wings and a coke we didn't order.
It was good.- 1

If you have "virtual synths" also known as software synthesizers, soft synths, VSTi's, instrument tracks or simple instrument tracks, then you have audio in the project and the audio metronome will be selected.
As far as I understand it. -

I think I still haven't understood what the audio metronome is.
If there is no audio or software synthesizers in a project, you can use the MIDI metronome. As soon as you add audio, it will begin to use the audio metronome to try to keep things in synch.
In Preferences, you can select to use the audio met all the time if you want. -

That's just it - I was looking for an apply button and couldn't find it.
As Promidi mentioned, if the screen resolution isn't within specs, those buttons will be offscreen at the bottom, and the top will be at its maximum height, and you can't drag it higher to show those controls.

Welcome to the forum.
What Driver Mode are you using? WASAPI Shared or WASAPI Exclusive are probably the best for an off-the-shelf computer sound card.
For best results, an audio interface with real ASIO drivers is preferred.
WASAPI is a fairly new driver from Microsoft and should provide okay performance for basic recording. -

I was away for a few days. Why? Because I was wondering why we bother to talk to complete strangers.
Because sometimes they send you stuff, unbidden, like a pristine FireWire card.

So I'd have to just select one at a time and figure out which one picks up sound? There's at least 15-20. Have no idea why there's so many,
Create the number of audio tracks Voicemeeter has inputs.
Arm them all.
Speak.
Which one is recording? Disable all the others. -
Welcome to the forum.
Doesn't the note sound when you click it into the PRV?
I had it but I threw it away

How was it played? On a standard 4-track machine or is it what was called quadrophonic?
