I always felt left out that every band I’ve been in since I was 12 years old practiced in a basement.

I’ve never been in a Garage band. I wonder what it’s like? Are garage band’s better than basement bands?
I’ve only ever had a carport and they are pretty cold in the winter for practicing. I guess that’s why I’m broke.

Living in Florida, I never had a basement to practice in. Florida is too close to sea level for that.

I've practiced in carports, and garages though.

When I was a student sax player, we watched the house next door for the owners when they were up-north for 9 months of the year. The built the home, hopefully to retire in. My mom got sick of me practicing hours and hours, so she would send me next door. It wasn't bad, the house had good acoustics.

In Britain we put them in a uniform and call them the police force.

The only difference between the criminals and the police is the badge.

I remember some notable person saying that, but I don't recall who.

  3. I think the end of humanity will be much sooner. We are already starting to have crop failures due to the warming planet, and corporate greed is doing next to nothing to stop the escalation.

Personally, I'm glad I was born in my era. I got to see the USA when it was at its peak. Our products were the best in the world, even the German Chancellor drove a Cadillac. People left their keys in the ignition of their car, and didn't lock their doors. And most of all, anyone who had talent could make a living being a musician, playing 6 nights a week in singles bars.

Now we are in the decline of our empire, but I get to see and use all the new inventions the digital revolution gave us, and I'll probably expire before the decline of the US is great enough to make my life miserable.

I don't think the youth of today are as lucky.
