  1. Even with WUP year after year, that UI still looks like it was made for Windows 3.1.
  2. I think most people think about ODS when they think Dumble and seems generally more popular (Ford, Mayer, Kimock, Santana, Carlton, Bonamassa, Urban) SRV owned a couple SSS and there are a few famous players that have them, but frequenlty don't see much about them and seem far more rare. The main characteristic is just a really high headroom clean tone. I've played through a few original ODS' I've only played through "SSS clones" as they are that hard to find.
  3. Thanks. Now I'll have to decide if it is worth it. Seems like quite a bit of hassle from someone like myself that has a few machines and the long term implications of a company that may nor may not be around for the long haul. It is based on the Six String Singer Dumble amp which I don't think I've seen anyone else try in the VST space. The ODS (different amp) is what the FUCHS Overdrive Supreme is based on. the SSS is a much cleaner amp. The Ethos Overdrive (the clean channel is a bit of a SSS emulation -which the Overdrive chanel is more ODS). The legend came to be related to SRV's use of the SSS. (also note that on a machine where the PA Amp sims use 6-7% CPU usage, this Humble thing uses about 21%. (that is a couple percentage points higher than even AT5 is)
  4. I only ran the trial. Sounds pretty good but looking at the authorization method it looks like this is a one computer at a time deal and you have to contact the vendor to re-install it which is going to be a deal breaker for me. https://ml-sound-lab.com/pages/faqs
  5. I've bought from them quite a few times. However, I did do some searching before posting and the only thing in the I'd actually really want catergory was the Audiority Pyros release which they seem to be the only retailer that actually wants full retail during the intro special. The NEED Preamps is a little tempting but not sure I need them for $30. The main driver would be lower CPU usage than what I have in that space now.
  6. Cheapest thing I can find is $9 to get it, wonder if we can do better...
  7. My guess would be cost a whole lot more and perform the same (since they confirmed previously they use the same algorithms for the previous ports)
  8. Waiting for the "you have 2 days to take advantage of the upgrade pricing before we no longer acknowledge that you purchased the previous product" launch campaign.
  9. There seem to be some rumblings it might be the same as this (though potentlaly different effects/controls??) https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/micahs-choir/ Perhpas something to look into for those that don't like LABS authorzation limitations.
  10. Marketing says 1% CPU usage in M1 Air. Wonder what that translates to on a computer people actually have and use in the real world.
  11. I think it depends on which freebies you stocked up on before. This isn't your first Rodeo. Something like the SPL De-Reverb is a useful freebie. And the unfiltered audio stuff is powerful, but can be a bit over the top to want to get your head around other than perhpas the Gate.
  12. I prefer the PA ones but both of these amps are more compressed in nature so the "feel" isn't as big of an issue to me. The PA out of the box seems like it has more clarity and less muddiness though I'd imagine the AT ones with plenty of tweaking (swap cabs, mics, post EQ) could get the same sort of thing going on over all. These are two I'd test drive if you have the AT ones to see if the difference is big enough for you. Of course the PA ones have far lower resource consumption. I had the PA Orange and Diezel VH4 before I got the AT5 get everything GB.
  13. The ENGLs at that price point just fall flat doesn't really respond like a real amp and not a fan of the tone of either of them. The Savage120 (higher price point) is fine. The other ENGLs sound and feel like older digital technology capturing them (which is true). The Orange Rocker is great and recommend it, but higher price point. The Mesa I haven't demo'd as I'm not really a fan of the real thing, other Mesas I like but never been a rectifier fan and figure I'd pull out the Desiel if I wanted tone in that ball park, or I also have them with AT5. Rockrack feels more like the ENGLs in terms of response and tech (i.e. it is older). A good value for people that don't have anything else, but for someone with a nice collection I don't really see the point.
  14. This, I love the Hornet business model (good price, treating customers as valued individuals) but not sure it would get any use from those that own Toneboosters EQ4 or Melda's AutoDynamic EQ. Granted, both of those options are order of magnitude more expensive than this deal.
  15. I'd personally ignore the Engl's in that price category and look at the Chandler and Bassdude to see if either offers you something different than what you have in the stable. I find the Chandler to be the most unique offering in that price point (and sounds good). Buxom Betty is among the better amps they have, IMO.
  16. Yeah it has been at the $30 tier before. I've been thinking about that one also if they do a triple voucher reset. Already have the TE100 which I was shocked at how much I like it.
  17. It is mostly same old But there are a few that are lowest price I've seen for such a sale. Bx_refinement, Bax EQ, or the TE-100 I don't think are normally in the $30 tier. Which will matter if they run the $20 vouchers. If anyone was miserly enough to hold on to a higher tier monthly voucher, there are certainly some deals to be had at the top of the price spectrum.
  18. Agree v5 is realtime and v2 takes offline analytics. Very different things. Would have been nice but I'm betting HB won't be able to honor it based on previous screwups in the past where they copy and paste the marketing text instead of validating what they are actually able to give away. Im liking Video Pro X more than I thought I would. Works on lesser spec computers than Davinci will run on and the multicam sync with audio is useful if you have good sources not to mention a number of other things.
  19. It does seem to have version 2.0 though.
  20. That sounds amazing. For those of us that have the LE version and can't deep dive, have you made that available for us to use? (unrelated I downloaded the "beta" piano and while there are some bugs it seems like yet to be worked out using it in 15.02, it is easily one of the best piano VSTis I've personally ever used. The sound and control of different aspects of it is just outstanding).
  21. Seems like PA is really trying to corner the mastering market. So many Mastering EQs, COMPs, and Saturators
  22. Given that few people drop the cash on a current GPU I can understand why developers haven't tried to adopt it. It only benefits a small subset of an already niche audience It's a great idea but I can see the support complications going that route Melda has offloaded the graphics part to the GPU for a while. I wonder if he dabbled with the audio processing part too. But as mentioned above the key is just making efficient code in the first place and Melda has certainly focused on that
  23. Wow, now I have to figure out how to move my melda libraries to an external drive to demo that 40GB "beta" piano. That was quite impressive.
