  1. The question is: is there a way to apply a mixing template to an existing project.

    Scenario:

    1 - Open project with x tracks, y buses.
2 - Execute or load a mixing template that parameterizes all tracks and buses just like the template, placing volumes, pan, plugins, etc. in the same format and parameters as the template?

This is not a track model, but a mix model.

    @Milton Sica

Not sure what you are saying as we are a global community as well as most people these days purchase items directly from many countries.

I live in Brazil where the Real/Dollar exchange rate is 5/1.

In other countries in our Latin America the exchange rate disparity is even greater. If we talk about African countries, certainly even more so.

So, for those who live in a first world country like you, the exchange rate variation is not significant, but for those of us in the third, fourth, fifth world, pricing is something important in our options.

You ask: Did they stay at Cakewalk because it was free?

The answer is a resounding YES!

Therefore, I am completely sure that, as citizens of countries on this side of the world, we always produce our work with free plugins, free applications, etc.

I don't know if I understood the topic, but I tried.

  3. I have been following the posts regarding the new (???) Sonar and would like to make some suggestions regarding the pricing of the product.

I believe it would be very interesting, including from the perspective of Marketing and Sales strategy, to propose different prices for the continents. I think this would be very interesting for propagation and even reaching more users.

All of this is due to the exchange rate relationship that exists for us in Latin America, Africa, etc., causing the exchange rate difference between our currency and the dollar.

For North Americans, Canadians, Europeans, etc. to have this perception, to compare $1.00 (one American dollar) we, Brazilians, have to pay R$5.26 (five reais and twenty-six cents) today.

Imagine if the price already stipulated in dollars today in all situations were multiplied by 5.....

If that was the marketing strategy it would make me come across as observant, that was the impression I got from it being in pastel colours,  It's a shame such a benign comment could be offensive, which was the reason I put the disclaimer first, also that someone deleted it. If indeed using pastel colour scheme was a cynical marketing plot to appeal to the female market, it could be said to be somewhat patronising from a marketing viewpoint.  that was my initial thoughts when seeing it.

for the record I'm all for more women getting involved in making music and recording music in daws

as a possible marketing strategy it reminds me of when VW relaunched the beetle and put a massive plantpot in the middle of the dashboard and stuck a big plastic flower in it as standard.

This is very strange. I also made 2 posts where, based on Noel himself's statement about the correction of hundreds of BUGs, which were simply deleted from the topics.

Do I ask the forum moderators about what types of comments we can make or is it only allowed to make compliments?

  5. I didn't find anything like that and I'm giving up trying here. I'm going to wait for the commercial version to be released and then think about whether I'm going to remigrate, as I'm doing well in REAPER. Thanks. What is the activation procedure?
I double click on the box that requests it, sends it to the website and there the procedure is, as far as I can see, hidden.

  6. Installed.
And I remain confused about some things.
I found the installation process for this version without any improvements in installation time.
The loading time of a project in the previous version I also found to be very slow.
When trying to activate me, my BANDLAB username was not accepted.
The new interface I found to be very similar to the REAPER that I have been using.
I didn't notice access to visual improvements, apart from dark mode.
I don't know if I'm right, but it seems like just a "makeup" over the latest free version.
    It's just an impression.
The much talked about improvement in interaction with screens was not taken to the FX Chairs.

  7. I share the solution to a problem that occurred to me this morning.

It was impossible to open any project, as it would freeze in the saving phase (which appeared in the UI) and block any interaction.

After several attempts, I started to isolate possible problems in my structure.

I then remembered another case in the past in which I was able to recover the work and resume operation simply by disconnecting my audio interface from a TASCAM USB that showed no sign of a problem and even worked for other applications.

Turning the USB audio interface off and on again did the trick for Cakewalk.

It depends on what you mean by performance.  It will take longer to open 3 devices than 1 device.  If you have "Always open all devices" checked, this is done once, otherwise it's done on demand when you arm a track.

Once the device is open however, there is no difference in performance.

The device is the same (TASCAM US 600)!
Is there a difference in whether it opens all the ports or only the ones I will actually use?

Yes - this is to get them set up for writing to when recording.  A reasonably sized file / buffer for each audio input port is needed to ensure glitch-free recording.

The earlier this is done, the better really - waiting until you actually hit record would be problematic if you wanted to manually punch in for example.

Hello, I don't know if I'll make myself understood, but the question remains:

    1) You are saying that if I keep this configuration.....

    image.png.ed43a8ad46ef59ed579ae8e9635fcdb5.png

Will I find better performance than this? Since I only use channels 1/2 and only one of them?

    Dirty pot?  Clean it?
Sometimes just aggressive turning of the pot will clean it.

I cleaned it with spray contact cleaner and the problem still remained.

    The knobs remained centered.

I had the idea of leaving them completely on one side and that is solving the problem.

  11. To create automation tracks in the MT Power Drum Kit, follow the steps below.

    1) Include the plugin with audio tracks, as shown in the image below.

    image.png.e61f6d6b4f39b8a740ef946ea47de7f4.png

2 - In audio channel 1 created by clicking on the button to automate a control, choose the desired parameter. The parameter used to control the overall volume of all drum parts is Global Volume.

    Comments:

1 - The plugin documentation does not cover this procedure.
2 - Automation as described is only available on the first track that receives channel 1 of the plugin.

  12. There are constant reports of slowness from users of the latest version. There is this specific topic and also in the feedback post, but these comments seem to be relegated to the third or fourth level, if not at all, with the search for a justification always being sought.

One time it's Kontakt, another time a plugin, another time configuring the user's station and so on.

And I'll reinforce: yes, the program is slower to load projects.

Sending to a compressor is something I rarely,  if ever do.  Effects such as compressors/EQ's are almost always inline.

Once you get beyond the entry/prosumer mixers, a lot of the pro mixers have dynamics processors on each channel for this reason.

The exception is when you're doing parallel compression, but since most software compressors have a dry/wet mix control, even that isn't needed any more.

I guess you might want to do parallel compression on many sources (e.g. all the parts of a drum kit), but even then I'd be more inclined to do it as an insert on a drum bus than as a send effect.

The most common send effects in the old days were Reverb and Delay, and occasionally something like chorus for a thickening effect.

    Thank you very much.

In fact, I thought that, like CHAINS OF EFFECTS, I could also use CHAINS OF SENDS.

For the voice, for example, I direct via send to 3 AUXILIARY TRACKS. One of them has a Reverb Room, the other has a Reverb Hall that has its own auxiliary track that contains a SIDECHAIN compressor and, finally, the 3rd track that has a DELAY effect.

This way I can, individually, work better on the environments.

This technique has been very useful for me.

I thought maybe this could exist in CHAINS OF SEND.

As I said: I have the NEUTRON UNMASK the Guitar and KEYBOARD Bus. So, from the MAIN VOICE BUS I make a send to each BUS (GUARTARS and KEYBOARDS).

I thought that maybe it would be possible or useful to be able to generate this CHAIN OF SENDS that I make one by one and, when clicking on ADD SEND: call this chain.

I don't know if this would be a "trip" of thoughts, but I thought.

These SEND CHAINS would be something:

    FREQUENCY UNMASK SEND CHAIN.

SEND 1 - SEND TO GUITAR UNMASK
SEND 2 - SEND TO KEYBOARD UNMASK.

In such a way that the operation could be carried out just like the EFFECTS CHAIRS.
