  1. I had a guy steal source code from my company and we sued him. It took 3 years to win and I got a judgement for $600k. I spent about $150k on the suit. He has no money, so I will reclaim none of the damages. This is a much more difficult and complicated situation that you all might think, and it's more difficult because one person is in Russia. My guess is the code wasn't actually copyrighted. A lot of developers believe there is an automatic copyright on published code but it doesn't work that way (I found that out the hard way). Of all the charges we brought against the guy copyright infringement wasn't one of them. Instead, we had to go for things like Unfair Competition (for example, you can't take a competitor's bicycle and change the seat and call it your own). Legal is tricky, expensive, and often ugly. What I know for sure is this is NOT how you handle this situation. All that the company should have said is "Unfortunately, there has been a disagreement between parties and now the attorneys are involved and sorting it out. Please be patient with us as we navigate this issue." and NOTHING ELSE. Offering a public list of your grievances and differences only hurts you - period. I wish them both the best of luck - but boy do I wish for both their sakes they take this offline.
  2. Looks like it's just on the Get Current products. I'm waiting for a sale on the subscription renewals. I plan to buy a few and not have to worry about it for a few years.
  3. Carl, There is a video out there with Hans Zimmer on how he got these sounds. The imagination that went into that sound design and the way he pushed his musicians to create sounds from their instruments is incredible. I think you are grossly over-simplifying the genius of those sounds and the sound track and I'd challenge you to get some of these sounds yourself with a softsynth of your choice. EDIT: Here's the video
  4. Too expensive for me. Why can't these "free" guys get together and figure this out? 😞 Seriously, I won't touch anything with less than a 70% discount, and free gives them NO ROOM to discount. It's like they are shooting themselves in the foot on purpose. 😡
  5. Bought it - this walkthrough sold me...
  6. This one is really tempting...
  7. I watched about a half dozen videos. Nothing got me excited about this one. At that price point there should be some excitement…
  8. Hi Zo! I will be making kontakt instruments but from my research there are advantages to using a more robust tool to create the loop points. I was going to go with reaper or wavelab and the sale pushed me to wavelab. I am super excited to create my first custom samples instrument !
  9. Cool. I want to build my own sample instrument and wanted Wavelab to create the loops in my samples.
  10. I bit - went from Ultimate 10 to Ultimate Collectors Edition. It seems like waiting a few years for me makes the upgrade worthwhile.
  11. I have a huge collection of BFD add-ons but I'm not using any of them. My home is a brand new version comes out and can use the old add-ons. I'd be happy to pay for an upgrade, but working the existing stuff is too much of a hassle.
  12. Thanks Larry - this makes the upgrade a true no-brainer. 🤘 Do you think Best Service is the best price we'll see? I can't image it going much lower...
  13. I have some individual instruments that are part of Komplete. For example, I have Mallet Flux. If I upgrade my K10U to K13U and get Mallet Flux, can I sell the individual instrument that I have?
  14. I'm on Komplete 10 Ultimate - I think it might be time to upgrade.
  15. I thought I'd share - this is the album Alan signed for me at the end of the mix with the masters class. His studio is next to his home, so he invited all of us inside his house for sushi. We were at his dining room table when he signed this. 💜 For those that don't know - Alan was the engineer on Dark Side of the Moon! 🤘
  16. One of my favorite studio possessions is a signed copy of dark side of the moon that Alan signed for me while we were eating sushi at his dining room table. 😎🤟✨
  17. The only thing I don’t have is thermal. I don’t think I want to pony up $45 for another distortion plug-in. I love their instruments though !
  18. Sorry abacab - I did mean the MNDALA plugin. I have two other paid libraries but seem to only have the issue with Oracle X. It might be related to trying to play some notes too soon after changing a preset - like the plugin can't elegantly handle being between loading samples. I've slowed that down a bit and it seems more stable. I am on 1.8
  19. Alan does mix with masters classes at his Parsonics studio. I spent two days with him in California at one of them right before Covid. The first day was on mixing and the second on recording a band. The band that came for us to record? Toad the Wet Sprocket! In truth I learned more with some online classes with other producers/mixers, but the time with him was worth every penny.
  20. Just bought some MNTRA instruments - Oracle X is crashing consistently in Ableton Live.
  21. Picked them both up. I need to retire early to have enough time to play with all these instruments.
  22. I just picked it up. I wish the expansions were a better sale but to summit up I’m happy with my purchase.
