  1. I just spent way too much time reading about the MIDI support in VST3 and plugin formats in general, and I stand corrected. It looks like what Steinberg is saying is technically true, but they are simply obfuscating the real issues and MIDI support as a whole is pretty bad/complicated in VST3.

It's as if they thought MIDI just isn't important. A really strange decision.

And then there is the issue that VST3 does not support program change MIDI events.  VST2 does.

I don't think this is true. I did a bit of googling, and there are multiple statements from Steinberg which can be summarized to:

    Quote

VST3 plugins must follow the VST3 protocol, which promotes all MIDI messages in a well defined and modern format. It is up to the plugin to support whichever MIDI messages it receives from the host. Many plugins don’t support program change in the first place, but nothing is beeing [sic] taken away, and Program Change messages are promoted to all plugins receiving MIDI just like with VST2, albeit in VST3 format.

So if program changes do not work with a VST3 version of a plugin, that is because the plugin developer didn't follow the VST3 spec.

And, what's your opinion about them? (I suppose that you will have a better opinion about the first one you purchased)

I've been listening to some demos of DF2. Not very impressed so far, so I'll probably skip it.

I think DF1 is good value for $40 but I wouldn't pay more much more for it, though I'm happy to have it in my arsenal. Bonus points for giving the option to disable the post-processing (EQ and compression).

I like percussion libraries, so I don't mind if the ones I own overlap with each other, but if you already have the basics covered I'm not sure if this will give you anything you already don't have. Here's the list of the instruments in it:

    • Cinematic Impact Collections
    • Concert Bass Drum (Multiple Sticks)
    • Cymbals (Multiple Sizes, Strikes, Swipes & Scrapes)
    • Gong (Hits, Rolls & Rubs)
    • Marching Drums (Multiple Sticks, Solo & Ensembles):

    • Bass
    • Cymbals
    • Snares
    • Tenors

    • Taiko (Multiple Sticks, Solo & Ensembles)
    • Toms (Multiple Sticks, Solo & Ensembles)
    • Timpani (Multiple Sticks)
    • World Percussion:

    • Conguita
    • Darbuka
    • Djembe
    • Doumbek
    • Dununba
    • Kpanlogo
    • Sakra
    • Udu

    Hello,

if I buy the Mixing Bundle, by how much does the price of the Complete Bundle?

35% of all plugins included in the Mixing Bundle? Or 35% of the Mixing Bundle full price?

If I recall correctly, when calculating the price they subtract 70% of what you have actually spent on the plugins in that bundle. So if you buy the Mixing Bundle, the price of the Complete Bundle should be €1049 - (€324 * 0.7) = €822. You would then spend €1146 in total for the Complete Bundle.

    Please someone check my math.

Haven't kept track with Affinity but at least when V2 came out, it didn't really bring too much new to all of the software. Have they since patched and added things?

In v2 the crop tool doesn't forget its settings anymore (if you use a different tool or photo between cropping). I do a lot of cropping, so that fix alone is enough for me to upgrade, now that the price is more reasonable.

Own Version 1 of Affinity and want to upgrade to Version 2? Experience the full power of V2 for 25% off PLUS get a premium add-on bundle worth €294.98 (for free!) with your purchase.

My price is €80 for the whole creative collection. I'm not sure if it includes VAT. One year ago during the launch sale the price was around €124, I think.

My Black Friday budget is shot to hell.

Best Service have boosted the offer with a free product of your choice, which makes TT upgrades look a bit more attractive. Not sure if the same offer applies to other products, though.

Do you know how long this offer is available? EZBass + one EBX + The Orchestra Essentials for €179 is actually a pretty good deal, I think.

  9. To save others some time, the deal is: buy one of their products and get a free expansion for it. Edit: Also, "Get a regular version of EZmix 2 at up to 80% off!*"

Also available at Best Service. The price is the same (at least for me) but you get (and can use) BestCoins. Might be time for me to pick up the bass.

  12. I think this was the first game I had ever played where I was an active participant in the introductory cut scene. It was amazing.

I would really love if NETFLIX or other streamer picked up an option to actually make a series or a movie out of it. I would say it would attract a big audience

I bet you I would hate the end result, because they would approach it from the "how to squeeze as much money out of this as possible" mindset. Two rants about the current trend in movie/tv industry, which I found both interesting:

This one is a bit long-winded for my taste, but it raises some interesting points:

Did you buy it there? I’m nervous to pull the trigger as it obviously is some kind of glitch/error .

Yeah, I bought it there. I took the risk because it says "any bundle" and I have a bundle even if I haven't registered it. Worst case scenario we get refunded.

It is possible that it's a glitch, but it would be weird if two websites had the same glitch.

Seems like it was a pricing error? It’s not showing up with the original link and if you search for it, it shows up as $299

    Still available on PluginDiscounts.

I had to pick this up even though I had bought the Essential Edition earlier. Good thing I haven't registered it so I can just maybe get some of that money back one day. But I think I'll hold on to it until I'm sure UAD lets us keep the licenses.
