I didn't buy their loops packages, because they are just... loops.  You can get millions of loops anywhere and add them to Band-in-a-Box.  They do add some styles with these PAKs, but they are styles-with-loops, which, after listening to the demos, didn't interest me.

If you want to see what I'm talking about you should buy two Xtra Styles PAKs.

With the PAKs you get the performance of a real drummer, changing all the time through your song.

If somebody has the loops paks and you disagree, please let me know.

Ah, got it.  This stuff never makes sense to me.  So probably a waste of $30.  Oh well.

Okay, I will grab one and try it out.

Tezza, can you get that SkyMuster satellite NBN?

For everyone else, this is not what the internet is like in most of Australia :) But it's a big country with a low population so outside of urban areas internet coverage quality drops off pretty quickly.

I get this.  I used to live in the middle of nowhere California and only had access to really bad DSL or really expensive satellite that reviews said wasn't much better than DSL.  Then we moved 45 miles closer to L.A. to an area with FIOS.  So much better.

We have been working out some very specific details of the models for AmpliTUbe Joe Satriani with Joe himself and we are making great progress to make sure his tone and everything he needs to see in this collection is OK with him.  We should have it ready in June.

I wouldn't recommend buying something assuming it will unlock things in a group buy as we are not guaranteed to run the same/similar group buys nor are they guaranteed to be run the same exact way.  70% off for what you get with Lurssen Mastering Console should be well worth it.

Only if you don't already own it.  😃

Last year, or was it the year before,  I happened to accidentally get into the group buy by picking something up on sale in June but not having time to register it - I was traveling a lot for work.  Ended up accidentally picking the group buy timeframe to register and got a bunch of free stuff.

But truthfully, I bought the recent Max pack sale and may not bother with the group buy this year.

  4. Am I the only one thinking about buying this just to save for the buy in for the group buy?  It is the most expensive of their products.

Edit:  I mean in lasts year's group buy it was the most expensive.  Might not be this year.

    or take singing lessons

Actually, singing lessons used to cost me $65 an hour or $200 a month in LA.  Thinking Melodyne upgrade is cheaper.   😏

    Get new freebie  next  monday

Darn it! I got it down to £9.77 with tokens and virtual cash, but forgot that the freebie would change if I waited.  Oh well. 🤨

Now I have two Era levelers.

  7. Not a bad way to get into Cubase.  Then wait for the summer sale on the upgrade price, hold onto the upgrade (i.e. don't register it) until November or so when 11 is announced and any upgrades get a free upgrade to 11.  :)

Can you run Studio 4 and Essential 5 next to another?

Yes.  They are separate products. I've had Studio, Editor, Assistant and Essential on my computer.  When I upgrade, they don't remove the old versions.

  9. Okay, Audio Deluxe still has Studio 3 to 4 upgrades for $49 less discount.  I forgot I updated Editor and not my Studio 3.  So got the 3/4 upgrade and free update to 5.  It worked.

And?  When they 6 comes out, I will have a version 4 available for a discounted upgrade. 😁

I guess I should record some vocals and play with it.

  10. Hmm, have to think about this.  Would it be better to wait for a sale?  They seem to have has some good ones in the last year and I'm not really in a hurry.  And frankly, the last time I needed to do some quick editing of vocals, Waves Tune was so much faster to use than Melodyne or Autotune.

    The laundry?

    The dirty dishes?

    The groceries?

Actually, he does his own laundry, most of the cooking, and half of the grocery shopping.  So I can't complain too much.

I thought you were kidding about it being an IK thing... until I scrolled to the bottom...

But it could be a good contact tracer if EVERYBODY wore one...

This!  If you notice how it works, it will only work if eveyone wears it.  So, great for a warehouse company where you can't see others coming or maybe in a call center where you want to make sure everyone stays the proper distance apart.  But if no one else around you is wearing it, does it pick up signals from phones?   It makes no sense just to buy it.

  13. I was telling my husband about this.  He said, where he works, he can see if someone it within 6 feet.  His company is talking about reopening on a limited basis.  He is more worried about co-workers coming in sick because they have no leave.  He picks up everything.

I think the idea is good though.

Lately I have been doing something really weird.  I've been making a lot of music with the stuff I already own.  I realize that's wrong but I have to confess it's true.

I do admit I'm getting Scaler and  EZBass.   But no reverbs, thank you.

Are you feeling okay?  No fever or cough?  Strange headaches? Funny feeling in your chest? 🙃

I already know the answer to this, but is there a single one of you who thinks they have enough reverbs?

I have Spaces II, Pro-R, all the iZotope ones, the Waves Gold ones,  the T-RackS ones, the NI Komplete and Raum,  the Steinberg stuff,  the Arturia freebie, many from the Best Service collection, Eventide 2016, and about 50 others I can't remember off the top of my head.   Plus some weird ones like Blackhole.

Call me crazy, but I'm getting close to ready to call myself covered, reverb-wise.    I admit I do not own any Vallhallas yet, so fire away.

Well, generally I say I don't have enough reverbs.  Even though I swear I have all the good ones but Valhalla and Altiverb.  But I want to see a review or demo or something.  Generally, I trust APD, but if they haven't been able to test it, then I probably won't bother.
