Nice one, Steve, I love those horns and the guitar break. The mix sounds pristine to me and its a very nice arrangement. One for the album!

    Thank you Kevin!

  2. Recently added lyrics to this one - I'm planning out my 2024 album and this will probably be on it (later this year).

The last verse I had some help from Bard - not word for word, but it did come up with the Window Panes Weep idea - One I really liked and was surprised by.  I had to coax it along a little with 4 or 5 suggestions, but it basically worked as a helper tool for when the words just won't come.

    I am right here
Waiting for you to come back
    It's been a while since you've been
    seen around here

Every one is ve - ry concerned
We hope that you haven't gone south
But who could blame you if you did
There's only so much drizzle that a
    sol can take.

    Come and break the spell...
    And melt away my shell
    Power up ---
    Power up my soul
    With your stunning warmth

Window panes weep their dusty tears,
Empty chairs hold echoes of your bright smile
Conversations stutter, ice falls on the sill
Aching for warmth, a tender touch.

The "room" I've been playing in of late is marked "Stem Separation" - the ability to isolate instruments and voices from a mono recording. This is the earliest/oldest

Amazing what you can do with old tapes these days...great work on that.  I like the tremolo effect whatever it is - it doesn't get used much these days, but should be.

Some very nice vocals and guitar on this, well done. I found the percussion a little intrusive and repetitive but that's a personal preference I guess.

Thanks for the feedback Keith - if I ever get back to this one I will remember and try to adjust.

    Hi Steve.

    Nice track.
I personally found it a little hard to hear the lyrics.. had to listen hard.
Is that a compression problem??  Maybe  bring the vocals up a little?

Hi Gary thank you for the feedback.  I have all the instruments going into one bus and the vocals into another - I'll try to adjust those balances a little.  I still think I am using way too many of the UAD Spark plugins, but I find over time, I calm down a little bit.  Perhaps that is part of the problem here.

    As ever a cool production,

Sin what is sin? Who defines what is a sin? One man's sin is another man's normality.

    I will say no more.

Thanks!  The older I get the more I realize that what you say is true.  Just be nice to people and help when you can and that goes a long way.

Very sweet. I don't know the original song or the film so listening with no background. The song moves me as very sincere and kinda sad but lovely in mood, delivery and instrumentation.  I live under Arizona skies and they are the most stunning at night and on days when we have clouds against the blue the skies are amazing. So nice imagery there for me and a sweet song ! happy holidays

It was Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the film A Star is Born.  We plan on doing the cross country this spring and hope to pass through Arizona.  My son also has to travel occasionally to Yuma for his job and he loves going out there!

Hope you are enjoying the season treesha!
