you sound wonderful to me ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ya only use nectra 3 no compressor, reverb, delay?jack c.

Those are all built into Nectar - I also sometimes send the vocals to reel adt (waves) but just a little bit.  And sometimes I use Vocal Rider (Waves) to even things out if needed.

how did ya handle voice processing?jack c.

Hi Jack - thanks.  For the vocals, I used Nectar 3 - and since I am not a great singer, I used Melodyne on some portions.  There are 18 total tracks of vocals, 9 for me and 9 for @kiwichrys.  Of those nine, there are three for each part (John, Paul and George).  It took some work with Melodyne to line them all up closely.

Fantastic Job!  I do think the low voices could come up a little as some of the highs are a bit prominent.  Extremely nice vocals .   mark

Thanks Mark - I'm going to go back and maybe make some adjustments to the low voices.

  5. I found this video that was posted by Richard Buskin.  I think he took an official video and put his audio to it.  I took the audio out and put my version of Because.  I play instruments and do some vocals on it and @kiwichrys (from Bandlab) adds more vocals.  She did all 9 vocal tracks as I also did...but she handles the high McCartney part better.

  6. I had a Texas Instruments that was smaller than an ipad.  It had a whopping 16KB memory pack that plugged into it and was about the size of an old mouse.  Shortly after that, I went to Commodore and never went back.  I had a VIC20, a 64 and a 128.  I didn't get the Amiga.  My buddy and I interfaced to the VIC 20 to create an 8 bay power supply tester.  He did the hardware AtoD converter and I wrote the software in machine language no less.  They sold an EEPROM blower so that we could make a cartridge that would start up the program when we turned on the computer.  Those Commodores were pretty powerful.  I remember spending a couple of hundred bucks at Lechmere on an old dot matrix printer that printed at about 10 characters per hour (LOL - slight exaggeration).  Then I got an IBM 286 and spent an additional couple of hundred on memory sticks that I think got me 8MB more RAM.  I also had a couple of huge monsters from Nixdorf that ran CPM on which I was able to play wonderful amber PONG games.

You have a way of owning your covers, and this is no exception.  Very well done!

Thanks Lynn - that makes me feel wonderful!

Thanks Jack - Dave can also sound a lot like John Lennon as well.  He's a chap from England himself!

Nice one Steve,  a great tune to cover. On laptop so can't comment on the mix except the first time the tamb comes it's way over the vocals & not panned..,it's better on rest of the tune..again this is my on laptop..grain of salt..-great job

Thanks a lot for the feedback.  I agree with what you said about the tamborine, but I decided not to lower it, because it made me think of Ringo while listening!  I just got the book that details each day in the studio at Abbey Road and have been reading it since Christmas - a wonderful story!

Even after the update, CbB is unusable. Type 1 audio dropouts every few seconds of playback, tweaking plugin parameters causes dropouts, sometimes pausing playback causes dropouts...In the current project I'm working, it takes me a few minutes to EQ a single track because you tweak a setting during playback, it causes a dropout, you go back play, then a random dropout occurs...I'm already running at the maximum latency I can.

The problem is on you, not on Cakewalk.  You need to put some money into your system if you are having such problems.  It works almost flawlessly for me and had for quite some time.

Fabulous!  This is not an easy song to cover - from the arrangement to the vocal, but you made it sound easy.  This has always been one of my favorite songs, but I like it even better, now.  Carry on!

Hi Lynn!  Thank you very much.

So............this is something you made no? From the description it sounds more like an album track already made by someone else?

If I misunderstood sorry. It's a great song and mix regardless!

Yes it is a cover I did.  I don’t know why anyone would post the original song here or something someone else did.  Thank you for listening and commenting!
