  1. After 4 sessions of practice through the day, my own songs and most of my practice ones are crystal clear without faults - but I still cant get unchained melody due to its chant based drawn out syllables or also another one I added - Didos Thank You right, so I need more practice. Still the most progress I made entirely from singing from my head held up, this was amazing. I'll need to wait 2 days before trying more for throat recovery, then continue trying to get those two songs correct too to strengthen my gentle tones.

Previously when I was always going by the general advice of 'sing louder / stop holding back' - none of this ever helped as my vocals cannot sing loud without sounding bad. To this day I hate my voice for having broken upwards as a man.

Also only just realised... Different accounts on tablet and PC cos one of them is my cakewalk account and the other logged in with my google one oops.

not to master as of yet.voice has many off notes.record/practice for awhile.tighten snare and or other instrument on 2nd. beat as they don't line up.the rest of the is ok.jack c.

Thanks, the 'snare click' is off beat, using 16 steps with a different click on 3 steps (on beat and either side) to create a sliding beat. The sound created was intentional, but I will see if it sounds better across 2 steps instead of 3.

I got it, all three steps needed moving one to the right.

  3. I've been wasting a lot of time trying to improve everything, I would appreciate any advice on how I can master my tracks even further:

.... If you would like to compare it to an early abysmal version ...

Same person singing in both (myself).

  4. I got a reply from Overloud:

    Hello,

I’m sorry to have to inform you that the version of Breverb that came with Sonar can only be used inside of it, is not possible to use it as a standalone.

The offer to receive a Breverb 2 Cakewalk code unfortunately expired when Bandlab acquired Cakewalk, new we cannot legally send Breverb 2 Cakewalk codes.

I will try to reinstall Sonar Platinum and see if that works then.

Yes but Overloud was very good to us and if you contacted them they handed out activation licenses for all our Overloud products. I still get e mails from them so they treat me as a paying customer.

The question is.. do people who only have Cakewalk by Bandlab have Breverb and TH3?

To get a activation code you send them a screen shot of your Sonar About screen showing your serial number.. if they are still doing this.

Breverb shipped with X3 & Platinum.

Yes I already purchased both X3 Producer and Platinum back in the day.

I currently thought I had followed all the steps to get it all working with Cakewalk, but its still constantly buggy.

I don't even know how to get that 'about screen' to show.

The envelope context menu has options to clear all nodes and delete the envelope entirely.

I dont think I can find this envelope context menu then. Right click gives read / write / add /remove automation line. The problem is that the automation line that is showing within  the track is not opening in the automation line view.

Try SHIFT+clicking the envelope to bring it into focus. Once in focus, right-clicking on the envelope should bring up the envelope context menu.

While I've done that I cant find out ho to find and edit / remove the circled volume dots.

  8. While trying to edit the volume curve for my tracks, initially doing so wasnt doing anything until I  fiddled with changing the track output to one that worked, but this actually created a second volume curve, and now I cant undo the edits I made the first time and they are causing volume ripples / spikes in my track.

Here is a screenshot showing the problem, I have tried removing all the volume curve dots from my current automation line, but a bunch still remain in the midi track (circled) that I cant find out how to remove:

  9. Until now I've been using separate instrument tracks, and if I do need two of lets say the Piano, its usually for different sections and sounds.

What I've now found is that I need to separate the same track into two, to individually volume and pan curve the low and high notes, with the VST settings remaining the same on the new track.

But the normal method of creating a new midi track and inserting a VST sets it to the default settings.

So how do I copy the settings from the VST on one track onto another, or simply create a clone of a current track with the same settings?

You need the old install media/disks. Bandlab Assistant is to install Cakewalk by Bandlab.

    1) Use your Platinum disks/media to install Platinum. Use default locations. Select which instruments/effects you want to use in Cakewalk.

    2) When finished, run Bandlab Assistant as administrator and install Cakewalk. Use default location.

Cakewalk will now have access to everything that was in Platinum.

Right thanks, I'll try and look for the downloads for Sonar Platinum.

Ok I was dumb, the downloads were available, I stopped looking when it popped up with telling me to just use bandlab assistant to install it before.

BandLab Assistant and the legacy Cakewalk accounts have nothing to do with each other.

    Install Platinum first.

If you cannot access your Cakewalk account contact support@cakewalk.com

I was able to login to my legacy cakewalk account but it says you need to use the bandlab assistant to install it and the assistant doesnt let me log out.

I am waiting to get a reply from support on how to install Sonar Platinum.

Features-wise. it contains years more enhancements, so the actual program itself is more capable.

Plugins-wise, though, it's missing a lot of the paid extras that came with Platinum.

You want to log into Cakewalk Command Center and install Platinum and any extras you want. Then, without uninstalling any of that, grab Bandlab Assistant and download Cakewalk and any of the add-ons and install that. So long as the VST paths are the same in the preferences, any features that were locked to Platinum will automatically show up in Cakewalk, so you have the best of both worlds - years of fixes and enhancements, plus all of the extras you bought with Platinum.

Problem is the bandlab installer doesnt let me log out at all so I cant log into my legacy Sonar account.

  13. I am trying to learn how to create more variance in different sections of a drum track, and if possible this should also work for other instrument tracks as well.

Other than simply splitting, unlinking and editing the notes and volume curves, is it possible to edit the individual drums within AD2 for just one specific section such as the one highlighted in this screenshot without affecting the rest of the track? (and then simply copy pasting that section to each part that it is needed).

    Thanks for any help.

I installed this track template some time ago, but it makes piano sounds instead of the drums. Changing the output on the midi track to Addictive Drums works, butr removes all the drum names in the step sequencer and replaces them with notes instead. I'd like to find a way to keep the drum names as well.

Changing the out port for each In note from Microsoft GS to AD2 works, but I have to do it for each and every note separately, how can I do this for every note and save it to work for every project?
