AMD has finally gotten their ultra low latency performance together with the new Vermeer (5xxx) series.
I've got a 5950x based DAW (I'm typing on it right now).
The 10900kwill out-perform the 5950x when it comes to ultra low latency performance (example below).
In heavily multi-threaded scenarios (video rendering), the 5950x will significantly best the 10900k.
Lets say you want to run Helix Native (plugin version of the Line-6 Helix guitar processor)... at latency equal to or lower than the hardware version (which is 2ms).
When it comes to ultra low round-trip latency, the Presonus Quantum is as good as it gets.
Set Quantum to 96k using a 32-sample ASIO buffer size. This results in 1ms total round-trip latency.
Load Helix Native and create a significant patch using two 2048-sample Cab IRs, delay, reverb, etc.
The 5950x is the first AMD CPU to be able to sustain this ultra low latency scenario completely glitch-free.
With the Threadripper 3970x, you'll experience glitches.
Needless to say, this is excellent performance.
With the 10900k, you can actually set the ASIO buffer size down to 16-samples (sub 1ms round-trip latency)... and it'll sustain the load glitch-free.
It's the first CPU we've tested that could actually do this...
The 10900k is a $500 CPU.
The 5950x is a $800 CPU.
Competition benefits all of us.
Based on what Jim said on another thread I am planning for Thunderbolt in the near future. Of course there are many other factors involved (most important having one of these beasts for a processor) but I doubt you could come anywhere close to these results with USB 2.0.

Nice specs Bapu...
My mobo died during a mixdown on Friday and doing an emergency build when I get all the components next week:
Motherboard
ASUS - ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO Socket LGA 1200 USB 3.2 Intel Motherboard
Processor
Intel Core i9-10900K Comet Lake 3.7GHz Ten-Core LGA 1200 Boxed Processor
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From my old machine:
Processor Cooler
NH-U14S 140mm U-Type Tower Cooler
Memory
Dominator Platinum - DDR4 16GB 3000Mhz x 2 for 32GB
Drives
WD - WD_BLACK SN750 NVMe 500GB Internal PCI Express 3.0 x4 Solid State Drive for Laptops & Desktops
Samsung EVO 500GB SSD
Samsung PRO 250 SSD
Asus DVD Writer
Power Supply
Seasonic Focus+ 80 Plus Gold 850 FX Fully Modular
Case
Silverstone Fortress FT02 (huge but silent)
Trying to re-use what I can and cannot wait for Gen 11 processor.
Went with the ROG motherboard since it has other goodies and 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports and did not want the headaches of adding it later...
Looking to add this audio interface once the build is working based on Jim's comments about latency:
Presonus Quantum 2626 Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface

I downloaded the demo and I may get it. Definitely a different sound when you A/B with AR Studio 3 and I like the idea of flipping between them. I also like the Ambiance control on this version. Looks like no Unfiltered Audio Bass-Mint for me...

SSL4kG, Masterdesk or Townhouse? Which is worth having/useful/vital for your production?
If they renew the vouchers this time around you could get 2 of the 3.
$29 for all 3 would be absolutely insane!

For those using Cubase - you can also fire up your new Cubase 11, go to VST Plug-in Manager and click the Plug-in Report button. It was added in Cubase 10.5.

Yes...Acronis True Image is like a Subscription...you get all updates and upgrades for 1 year.
So, if you had 2020, and it expired in Oct., after Oct you would no longer get updates
or upgrades...My account shows 2021: PERPETUAL LICENSE after the free upgrade... so to be clear it should never stop working but you are correct - no more updates or upgrades.
I will probably sit on this version for a few years at least.

Are you sure there is a free upgrade to the Standard Edition? I did not see this on their website.

Izotope has its own download manager called Izotope Portal. Installation is easy, and one license allows you to install on two computers. No ilock or dongle required. With full Nectar 3 you should also get included a license for Melodyne Essential, which must be separately downloaded and installed though Celemony web site. No ilock or dongle required for that either. Again, if this is full Nectar 3.....it’s a steal.
Confirmed full Nectar 3, installed and activated.

Definitely appears only VST2 are supported. When I installed VT2 versions of Exponential Audio and rescanned they showed up as well. Same with ARC3 which is good!

T-Racks 4 and 5 and Amp 3 are available, no sign of Amp 4 though, strange.
Thanks! I did not have VST2 versions of T-Racks installed. Just VST3. They show up now.

Larry , you're sure abouut plugin hosting , i heard it was out in V8 ?!
Confirmed it supports 3rd Party Plugins with the standalone version - no Waves or IK Multimedia though.
Sonarworks and all of the PA stuff are there plus others.
You can even load bx_masterdesk or dearVT Pro if you so desire! That should be interesting to play around with...
According to their support site it is NOT officially supported.

FYI - T-Racks has also been updated to Ver. 5.4.0:
Introducing Space Delay
General reliability improvements

$36 to go from 10 to 10.5 for Pro. I guess that's worth it!

I think I will wait till the end and see what happens. I will get the ADA Flanger at the $29 price. But that's all I can see I want. I have almost all I want.
I've passed on the Shadowhills comp already. And never was interested in the Master Desk. Not sure what I would want.
At the moment, just the flanger.
Don't forget to add a couple of pedals even if you have copies then use the voucher so price will be $24.97.

I was able to install the current Waves Central yesterday with no issues. For my v9 plugins I downloaded the last V9 from Waves (Central_Offline_v9-92andApps_Win) and the pointed the latest Waves Central to the unzipped directory for the v9 install by selecting Offline Installer and browsing to the directory. Worked for me.
