I used Cakewalk/Sonar for over 20 years. I was devastated when it went under. Then I found Reaper. I've never been happier with a DAW. You can create an environment that works just for you.  SO DEEP! I'm happy that Bandlab continues to developed  it, but Reaper is my world!

    Reaper ftw.

Glad to see CbB because even when free still has relevance to some.

Very fair list and I understand why some chosen above Reaper.

I liked to see Pro Tools fading into oblivion, as I was gonna compare it to Adobe's rent to NEVER to own scam, I mean, ahem, scheme, but Adobe has at least good quality (as in nothing beats Photoshop).

  2. Oh you were serious? Sorry, didn't mean to upset you. I love sarcasm and this forum is a hoot (in a good way).

I've read that a twin can't handle too many plugins, as it handles them on its own, not using the computer's cpu, so it might explode if you add one more.

This means you are now trapped in the Apple's, ahem, I mean UAD ecosystem and if you want to run more plugins you gotta spend more on hardware (and as you can see more also for extra plugins)

That's what 890 bucks get you: 3/4 plugins.

PC + Native for the win.

(Because Macs are consumer products, and very expensive for some reason)

He's smart.  Like I've said a million times, it's better to sell 1,000,000 at $6 than to sell
    10,000 at $60 dollars...people won't scoff at spending $6...but they will at $60

    Omg, great minds think alike!

hm, which one, Zo?  Generally cloning disk is transparent for apps and mostly OS unless they use actual physical disk serial or so...

I think most authorization machine based use rather mb, cpu etc to verify if still on the same machine...

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Softube

Just to ve notice : Amp Room is another product , it will not replace vintage amp room , bass amp room ect , so if you uninstall tjoe and open old projects , you'll be in trouble !!!

It just replaces the product. Amp Room Bundle (Bass, Vintage, Metal) are no more. They become legacy now.

Well my not being able to work out how to inset the Marshall Plexi or Marshall Kerry King Signature or the Eden WT800 was just a matter of downloading the latest updates for each, now they show up and work fine. Still the CPU issue, don't see the point in using Amp Room to run them when I could run them on their own at lower CPU. Oh and found the manual in the FAQ's.

Isn't it funny how life changes priorities, came back from the doctors this morning to the news that my mum has passed away, it's been coming, terminal cancer, the doctor said that now she has gone my dad likely wont last long, he has dementia and has probably been holding on for mum. So things aren't good here at the moment.

It has really brought things into perspective, and I have probably been masking my own issues

with frivolous activities for a while now, but the recent events have brought it home all to clear. So I'll be off and preparing for a journey as soon as the borders here open up allowing travel, likely not to return. When the time comes I wont allow myself to go through the pain and misery that I know is coming, I watched my brother go through that 18 months ago, no thank you, I'll check out before that.

Do yourselves a favor, check out the Softube Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959, and the Softube Marshall Kerry King Signature Series, and the Eden WT800 Bass Amp sim, all simply awesome.

    Fair thee well 👋👋👋

From human being to human being, from brother to brother, honest I'm with you. And I understand perfectly your situation. And I  think I will copy later in life this idea (checking out) myself. Hugs mate !

Guyz after install , i lost nearly 2 gb on c drive , where the hell those data are !?

I think this replaces anything Amp Room (legacy now). And maybe other stuff. Routing with this is awesome (I mean you can divide  and choose to what frequency range you apply what effects).

This demo is quite a bit better!

There are some that I like quite a bit, others I find terrible. But that's the thing, using it you have lots of tonal options. The ROOM utility is beyond awesome. It plays A GIANT role in the tone.

I should've stated that this is my personal opinion expressing my personal impression and should be taken with a grain of salt. Sorry for not being considerate.

That being said, I'm not talking about fidelity of the sound source, but rather the character of tone. Back in the day I had been using early COSM based BOSS m-fx and, occasionally,  first gen Zoom digital FX. They weren't great back then but kind of useable. I can recognize that character easily. Contemporary m-fx have come a long way since then, that's why I think it's not cool to not match modern standards. YMMV.

And I didn't mean you were wrong at all.
You don't like the video, I love it. We are both right :P

THE most horrible sound demo for 2020. Reminds me of what digital products sounded like in the 90s-early 00s. No wonder Code series of amps was a disaster.

Wow, to me it sounds amazinggggg. I love the demo to death (the youtube video). Duet into Drop THX AAA 789 into Vic Firth headphones (because they are closed and have better bass and stuff). I am still on the floor like a worm happy about this.

  11. Downloading demo. I have the first 3 original amp rooms. Marshall extra cabinets aren't that badly priced. Thanks mate! (I mean, KING! ) :P

meh, pass, tried 'em all before. You may use them for a few days, but then they will just sit on a dusty section of your hard drive, and there is a reason for that. Remember, with 'FREE' you usually get what you paid for. IMO, YMMV, Pass.

I am curious what is your audio chain? Interface, etc. Just wondering. Thanks.

  13. Ok, let me say this... THIS SHOULD BE A STICKY OMG!!! That good they sound in the video. I've tried before one of its creator's amps, and they were pretty good but lost them due to a new install (and moronness from me) and I couldn't find them anymore (I think one of the creators is Russian?).

So now that you posted this... wow... honest thanks so much (didn't say anything before because you know,... life... :P )
