As someone who used to use Project 5 a lot, Bitwig had a similar look and feel when it came to workflow. I've tried Ableton a few times but could never really get on with it. That may sound surprising considering that BW developers came from Ableton, but Bitwig has for me been a bit more intuitive than some of the other things I have tried. Of course they do have a few weird things, like Tap Tempo being only accessed through a weird shortcut, but overall a good mix of simplicity and power. Apparently Bitwig also imports FL and Live projects now. Another thing you may want to look at is Mixcraft. It's a good hybrid of linear and pattern based. I considered it as well during the Great Panic but there were a few things which annoyed me, most of which I have heard have been fixed.

Turns out the problem was an old version of their download manager.

During the Dark Times, I looked at a lot of other DAWs. There were a lot of things I liked about Studio One, but it didn't click. I also picked up Bitwig as a replacement for P5 and I use that from time to time. However, CWBL has stayed my primary.

Apparently everyone wants the creamy vintage mojo because I can't connect to their server.

I'm guessing 3 LO-FI FX YOU'LL ACTUALLY USE ... the other 2 would be vinyl and bit reduction.

Are these standard MIDI files or in some proprietary format like the EZ Keys MIDI?

There are a lot of suprisingly good ones in here and some letdowns. One thing that's a little surprising though is the usefulness of some of the rhythmic sounds near the end of the bank. They are a fun little surprise you probably shouldn't expect from a collection like this.

what does Audiority do that Turbo Delay doesn't?

It really gets hard to justify spending money on delays once you have MTurboDelay.

I have two of them and don't see any further discount. It may not count if you got the other turbo products through bundles.

I contributed a ding sound that happens when I accidentally bump my lamp in the middle of the night and they took that. However, I contributed a few other things that I'm pretty sure nobody else did, and I hear nothing like that.

I'm not a fan of the "Steinberg" folders either, but you could always just make that a symbolic link to your regular VST folder. Would it be possible to have your Avid folder be a symbolic link to the Recycle Bin?

That's interesting because the change log discusses bugs with AU versions for most of these, and also fixing pops when using the phaser in the Replika effects.

This implies that a VST3 version of Guitar Rig 6 is coming soon.

It could be that the investors want SAAS, but the NI managers don't see it working so they set up a test project which will fail so they could say "See our users don't want subscriptions"
