Avoid 1903 and 1909 build. Those builds was buggy in general. I'm currently testing the 21h1 build, which has not been released yet / and so far, this version (since the 1803 build) is much more stable. The big upgrade in new features will come in the 21h2 build of Microsoft Windows 10

 Get your hands on the "Windows 10 Pro 20h2" / OR / for now, stay on the 1803 build. 

Flatbed is ideal. What about those that dont have bigger monitors? We need to cater for them too and a flatbed effects list is ideal for that, but in general cakewalk needs it.

I'm with you on Track view real estate  - I don't like the double sized Inspector and wish I could put it back the way it used to be. But I keep the Browser open as I find it so much quicker to do a text search for a plugin than the old method..and if you have it docked on the left it's not very far to drag !

Shortcut B opens and closes it...or I have a macro on my Streamdeck that closes both the Inspector and Browser with one key

 

For some reason, I can't deal with those windows. A clean interface looks attractive. I have a decent size monitor too for real-estate on that.

A "wide window" that show all the effects in it's category on one window. 

EXAMPLE: Lets say you have 200 Compressor plugins in your Dynamic category folder it's gona show/view all 200 plugins in that folder on one windows.

I don't use the dock windows anymore - other than just for adding samples. 

A flatbed will be ideal. Not everyones workflow are the same. I find those dock windows unattractive. It's been almost 8years I'm not using the dock windows anymore. 

I'm trying to keep as much real estate in track view and console available. It's also a long plugin dragging-insert. 😂

On hand is quicker and better for my workflow. 

Good idea what I mean about my workflow: I dont scroll up to the TOOLS MODULE I use the shortcut "T" at place where my Mouse cursor is. That's quick fast and efficient.

Feature request for a flatbed effect list. 

Cakewalk really needs this feature for its effect list. Scrolling to an effect that's at the botton - so tedious! 😣

The last update, brought my request to 70%  - With this, it'll be 80% that's where Cakewalk sits on features with me today under it's new home. 

The other 20% is stability, New/better Automation features, New Export features too - like adding a single or Album Art cover. 

Than there's just small enhancements to do here and there at the very last stage. That's how satisfied I am with Cakewalk today.

The best thing to do is to move the plugins to the category you want it to be in / and delete all the duplicate vsts  in the x86 common file folder and Vst folder. 

What's actually nice about moving thing around in the browser is that you can create subfolders too. You can place different compressors subfolder in its main folder. 

With me, My multiband plugin folder are placed in my compressor folder. This keeps things neat for me. The catergory delete itself when it becomes empty. I'm not much of a long list fan.

True. Yes, it works great in Cakewalk. 

I delete every Asio Driver that is not that of my interface, from all my devices. 

This give me access to a fluent workflow with less dropouts and problems. Especially when you travelling to go work in a different studio and you're required to work on a different DAW 

One such scene played out a few weeks back, when producer at a major label worldwide, recently told me that, if Cakewalk becomes more stabled - he believes it will take over studios every where! 

Sitting on the balcony right now playing around with a project using the virtual keyboard, I've noticed some latency (obviously, cause i'm not hooked up downstairs in studio.) 

Just a wild idea that popped up.

Wouldn't it be great for cakewalk to create their own Asio Drivers? 

This will help those that can't afford gear greatly, not so? Also, it will make working mobile, less of a fuss. 

What I mean by this is: Seeing that I refuse to go sit in my home studio now, or to even download Asio4All, WASAPI drivers are not much helpful. One just allows mulitple communication between hardware and software/online streaming platforms / and the other one not. Though it does lower the latency issue, but not by much - not a big issue. 

Not sure if this is actually meant for the FEEDBACK category. 😅

Give or take 30 mins after it goes into sleep mode. After 30mins your computer deletes a temp file that keeps the memory, but this should keep the DAW in focus though.

😆 This is so true. In fact I never thought to even question this - now that I'm thinking about it. Yes, I always have to bring it to focus after my system gone in to sleep mode. With my other daw, as soon as I press that spacebar - it plays music.

Yeah. It's what I do at the moment. Everyday I find that it doesn't work that well with certain POP or Hip Hop tracks. With EDM - AUX or a BUS works better. 

What's your alternative sidechain method other than routing your tracks to an Aux or Bus?

Cakewalk by Bandlab is twice the DAW Sonar Platinum was. The only problem is that if you had the Z3ta,  Pro Channel Concrete Limiter, Dropzone, Beatscape, Rapture, basically every plugin that you bought wont work in CbB. 

You only get the main core application with the core prochannel modules, I believe it's the "Studio instrument collection"  and the sonitus plugins. 

Though: when installing Sonar Platinum with all the instruments you've bought with it / and install Cakewalk by Bandlab very last, all your stuff will then work and move over to the Cakewalk by Bandlab. 

At the end: It is worth moving to the free version.

That's what I was referring to as "Empty" ( a.k.a BLANK) template. I only use custom "Blank" templates. Meaning: If I make any small changes to my workstations OR the template itself - I "replace" the existing one.
