     HW output but really minimal.

No, to the hardware bus. That is of no USE basically when you have a Control Surface. That is why mine is always permanetly tucked away | and | not relevent as an example.

Yes, to your "Bus A" as an example to this as a"Dedicated Master Bus." You do not want to accidently have your mix bus, or your master bus be panned slightly to one side. That will mess up a perfectly balance, mix as i encountered earlier - before decovering the reason why it was.

would you still want FX and PC available?

Yes, most definetly would i want the FX bin still available on these, but if the option is given to remove it too, why not? Personally, I wouldnt remove it. Cause the "Dedicated Master Bus" would be where I do my Mastering and the second one my Mix Bus. I always have 2 Mix bus strips and a Master Bus in the final project, with each having its own reason and use for. Like sometimes I would create a 4th "Mix bus strip" to do my overall parallel compression, if i feel it needs a little more | or | use it as a wet/dry saturation bus on the overall mix to create the perfect artificial analog sound. So this is where you would only want the Mute/Solo and interleave (obviously with the volume slider included) on the entire strip. More Flexibilty.

As far as the PC module goes. I cant remember when last I had used it. It too is permanently . . . uhmm . . . disabled? It's removed lol.

    Appreciate the +1.

Example: What I would like to remove on my "Dedicated Master Bus."

Question 1 - Is it possible to change the reference of the video source folder in the project?

What you can try out is go into the preference and under the FILE/Folder location try choosing a dedicated folder from there.

NOTE: I have never done this with video before, but i have done it for my Exported Audio Tracks and Track Templates. SO PLEASE! EXPERIMENT! with a demo project before you commit to the new folder location.

PLEASE! IF YOU DO NOT TRUST THIS, DONT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT.

Do these changes at your OWN RISK.

  4. The Track Control Manager and Module Tab in the console is a great tool to custom your strips, but it is not flexible enough.

I was looking for a way to remove only the Master Bus MSR buttons and the PC Gain,Pan - including the channel pan knob. Unfortunetly neither Track Control Manager, nor the Console Module Tab allow us to remove these buttons individualy per bus to create a dedicated strip as the "Master Strip."

Reason: I had just hooked my laptop to my Nuclear 2 (By the way: it works extremely smooth with The CWalk) Not sure what happened - though it was definitely human error, which panned the PC pan knob 4%  Left. This had me going through every channel and strip with an effect Aux and Bus strips wondering why the track is slightly playing more through the left speaker. I have never used the PC Bus Gain nor its Pan EVER, so i didnt think of looking there. Eventually my eye caught this issue and did a reset to "C" (center.) I immediately open the Track Manager only to discover

This little incident sparked this request to have these be removed per button and per strip. Example: I would like my "Main Dedicated Master Strip" not to have the PC gain, pan, channel pan, send module and the MSRW buttons on it | but | to only have the Interleave on it with my mix bus only the MS and Interleave.

Hope I'm not asking too much and that you see the flexibility and "Security" in this.

It happens sometimes that there is extra length in a song when exported. Sometimes I can't figure out why. My workaround is to create an arranger track that has one section that is the length of the actual song. If the selection is set to select all the data then all I have to do is click on this one arranger track & the data is selected. Now when I export using the selection as what is to be exported I get only what I want with no extra time in it.

Most common culprit would be a rogue automation node that got copied and pasted later in the mix with edits.

To isolate this issue, its always best to Ctrl+A and then do a Shift+L which will create your loop markers and tell you exactly where to look for it. Once located and deleted, repeat the above shortcuts before you export.

The export window should then give you the accurate time and length of the song.

It's not empty.  Typically there's a clip on the track and I'll accidentally hit the Take Lane button.

It is not an actual clip. It only creates, a "guide" to draw your automation on in the lane area if you prefer to draw automation in the Lane. One is the "Automation" lane | and | the other one "Take" lanes. If you delete this clip you delete the actual one. It does not create a duplicate track.

  7. I can't think of ever not using the Smart Tool.

The only time I do change tools - is when I would paint automation. Other than that, The smart tool is the best feature ever created in Cakewalk to this date.

If im right: The issue is a simple one everyone encounters daily, but subconsciously fix the problem. You can actually see it happen in as you draw in those notes.

You're crossing in to another clip. So this happens because of the two individual clips. If you bounce the two together and make them one clip - the problem will disappear. You can see this when your snap to grid gets disabled in the PRV on the third note you're drawing in - as the note is currently laying underneath the other one that overlapping. Somehow that clip got split.

Bouncing that clip should fix your issue.

Some time ago I had problems with slow loading of Waves plugins and, if I remember correctly, I received a suggestion that for faster PACE should always be running.

I did that and it fixed the lag.

I don't know if that could be it. Perhaps a more updated version of PACE.

They load in less than a second in PT - on windows 10.

Besides, I dont see how the load speed  can be related to PACE.

Greetings Cakewalk by Bandlab Reference Guide documentation writers.  The current revision number of the CbB Reference Guide is Version 27.12.00.  If memory serves me that means the guide is describing Cakewalk as it existed in December, 2021.  There have been multiple updates to the program since December, 2021.

Please update the guide to reflect the most current release.

    Thank you in advance.

Download the offline documentation. It's on version 28.06. I got mine with the new install of Cakewalk. Which can be easily accessed through the Help tab.

FWIW: I just looked up my reference guide which I downloaded earlier this year.

    It reads:

    Copyright © 2022.

True statement. I guess you didn't read the OP word-for-word yourself, because you missed that he is using the VST2.

I guess you didn't read where he said they sent him the UPDATE - meaning the VST3 version.

He is yet to download the Vst2 version. I guess you missed reading that word-per-word, right?

Probably time to up your reading prescription then. Good luck. 🙂

Linked tracks do seem to slow down the playback at times so I won't use them.

This would only be possible if you do not have a powerful (at least decent) system | or | your system drive are busy packing up.

I've never had this "slow" issue before in my 13 years with cakewalk.

Also there's the language each DAW uses. Some DAWs call regular VSTi inserts "Midi." Whereby in Cakewalk: Midi and Instrument tracks are separate.

Like in top. I dont know what happened's , but vst pluggins do not work. Cakewalk do not see any of free plugins . Only supported obout Cakewalk. I cant find answer. Is only my trouble ?

Cakewalk wont see it because you have to add the vst folder path of your plugins to CbB.

The plugins might have installed in Program Files>VstPlugins

    Read here:

I'm not the one with the problem, was just trying to help the OP.

There's your problem. You're Assuming i think you are the one with the M1 problem and that's the reason why you're in your feels over nothing.

Cause he made it extremely clear:

"It was suggested that I contact Korg and let them know that something broke when they changed from vst2 to vst3."

  14. 44 minutes ago, abacab said:

    @Will.From the OP ^^^

And the Cakewalk crash report clearly shows the failed plugin as "M1.dll", not "M1.vst3. 😉

I think any confusion may have come about when the OP referenced the release of M1 that added the VST3, not that he was actually using that format. I assume that update is when his VST2 messed up as they overwrote his existing VST2 "M1.dll" with the newer version.

     Version 2.3.0
        [PC/Mac] VST3 format support

Again: I think you need to re-read the  OP and my reply word-per-word and letter-per-letter. 👍🏽

  15. This might also be because the "1000" custom presets you have collected over the years, are not compatible with the vst3 version.

I had a similar issue with another plugin recently with its update.

Normally before i contact the manufacturer I troubleshoot things myself - especially with custom presets found online or that was sent to me. I do this for reasons such as in discussion.

Reason: What experience have thought me: Most composers and mixing engineers I work with "professionally" abroad with my travels - you still get people that uses that exact same version in plugin they've bought 10 years ago. So the present you have received was made in an outdated version of what you have.

    Case in point:

I had recently went to Holland to collab on an album and this guy were still using Protools 10 with Waves V9 plugins. After some debate between me and him, he finally cracked and allowed me to update Protools and most of the plugins he uses daily. The guy had been paying every month, but refused to update his stuff - all because of the "If its not broken, why fix it" mentally and this guy works with legends in the industry.

Anyway. What if trying to say is, there might be a favorite preset you used in most of these projects that were still created in a 32bit environment or a really old version of M1 | OR | the reason might also be, because you had a "Patch" and not the full .exe to update the registery for these custom presets as well. What ever the case might be: Its best to send CbB developers a copy of your a problem including a crash dump and ask Korg to send a complete update install of the Korg M1 to you.

Cakewalk crashes with automation when I record a midi track !

What are you trying to assignment for automation? Plugin, pitch bend or mod wheel?

my sound card is a Behringer u-phoria 404 hd recording at 44000HZ sampling frequency double Precision 64 Bit DRIVER UMC Asio Driver and with 64ms latency

I'm going to assume you meant 44100sampling rate. Try switching 64bit Precision off.

Make sure you're using the same rate in CbB and in your Windows.

I can't seem to import a mono track without it being turned into stereo.

It sounds fine and I can pan it hard left, as intended, but it's just annoying to see the twin wave files.

I had accidentally cut the end off of it (sigh) and went to yesterday's save of the project to get an intact part. Exported the audio track (see pic) to my desktop and imported it to a project.

    guitar track.jpg

As long as your wave file is in mono and plays down the middle . . . you're in mono.
