To stop this behaviour, use two delays and use automation on the delay's bypass or input level to switch one off and the other on at the point of the tempo change.

Trying this out and it has some major flaws.

It produces  information down the middle.

Alternatively: Use two sends in pre-fader mode with the slider to -INF. Issue with this is . . . the two Aux Tracks needs to be in mono on the interleave and with its "Inputs set to stereo. 😕 otherwise it cancel out.

Second issue here are the send pan knobs. You cant set it to "Follow Track Pan." This introduces two extra steps. Luckily if doing this effect on a rise, so its a quick workaround for

I need to revist your original TIP above. Perhaps my delay settings was wrong. I tried this with the Valhalla and it has a strict follow interleave protocol to the bone.

NOTE: the effect needs to be in pre-fader mode, so that it can be placed in a space far back.

  2. Just made a video to demonstrate the possibilities CbB has, if you know how to do it. We still need that thing people keep asking for though! I forgot its name. 😅

FWIW: We just need to remove some limitations on cropping and loop playback so that we can HEAR what we're doing as I have requested before, please. The steps of bouncing to track could've been eliminated if these restrictions were gone, so that we can create better samples.

if you use the 2022.06 rollback (to 2022.02), then an installation of 2022.09 uses the full installer (if you have already updated to 2022.09, then you have to use the 2022.09 rollback (to 2022.06) first).

This seems to have worked. a lot of steps, but it worked.

    Thanks.

Can you send us a project with a repro? I cannot repro this.

    Apologies.

I just figured out what caused the issue. Human error my side. Both the original and the Aux was active. Meaning in order to fully test this, the original track (track being sent) needs to be muted with only the aux track active to test this.

I must have forgotten this on when updating to Build 027 testing this out.

To be honest, I think this is pretty common behaviour . . .

This cant be true. It even exports the clicks and pops too.

FWIW: I'm doing this effect everytime and never ever heard this behaviour before. I took that same vocal and created this outside of CbB (Different DAW) and tge same Valhalla and Manny Delay does not do this. It does it with the Channel Tools (width/pan sliders) as well.

EXAMPLE: The Valhalla starts in mono out to stereo at startup, but then stays in stereo on the effect and export as such too when you duplicate the clip. Meaning it doesnt start back at mono going out to stereo to repeat the effect.

I'm gona to have to do a rollback to verify this, because I have some rides starting in mono going out to stereo in build ups on old cakewalk projects and this is a first.

I agree with the first half of your statement but there are no guarantees about the level of impact a sampler will have on CPU resources, whether it ships with the DAW or not.

In fact: Some does. These ones are nomally bundled with a lot of preset libraries.

ADSR sample manager, Big Fish Audio Momentum - even the TX16. When you have multiple inserts open - yeah they do. At least my desktop 6th Gen i7, 16 GB does. Have not tried this on the new system. One thing in sound design you should always remember is not yo commut to your audio yet and sitala is far from a sampler its more like a player than an actual sampler I have it too.

I'll go as far as to say: between it and our very own LC (loop construction) theres not much difference between it except the pads and that you can trigger it via midi keyboard - otherwise theres nothing. I'm actually in the process of creating a video that demonstrates something - so keep an eye out for this in the tutorial section.

I have a reasonable expectation that this highly-requested feature will eventually be delivered.

And I have a feelling, a hint was given a day or two ago right here on the forum. I might be wrong. 😀

With the coding i meant the programmcode, not sound quality. Square1 is running stable on my PC despite 32 bit, Pentagon though is not. I think it has to do with it beeing a DXi plugin. The compatibility isn't that good with newer systems.

Both were running fine on a 4th-gen-i7 system. I do have them in 64bit that came with my Sonar Platinium bundled, but I have completely rebuild the old machine and wiped everything on it. Installing them means: I will have uninstall CbB to install Sonar and Cakewalk by Bandlab last. That's a process I do not have time for anytime soon.

The only remaining question I have is that the track meter shows the stereo signal when armed for recording a mono input.

Probably because it is still in STEREO!

FWIW: Hit stop and play a few times, you will see it follows and then it separates. Its a hit and miss issue/bug or whatever. Close the DAW, Restart open CbB and its gone.

  9. The beauty in Sound Design is that it does not ask for "quality." In music "Dirt" is candy. Poor quality/coding VSTi's makes for a great vintage sound in HipHop, EDM, Dance and Future Rave.

You might hate a thin sound preset - i might hear great detail for a certain sound in it when sculping to taste.

Pentagon and Square are from RGC Audio and i think the original programmer isn't with Cakewalk anymore. Besides that, is Pentagon an old DXi plugin which is dead nowadays. If at all either Rapture, Zeta2 (actually that one is from RGC Audio too) or something completely new whould be the better option.

I believe CbB owns the license to Pentagon and Square. I might be wrong, but something like that was mentioned previously.

After last update for Cakewalk today 7.10.  my keyboard midi controll disappeared totally, cant play anymore.

I use Win 7 and Yamaha keyboard.

    Any solutions ?

Go to preferences and midi devices and select the midikeyboard - again.

I still get a stereo signal when selecting only L or R input from a Patch Point:

I can verify this. I was actually in the process of making a video on this.

Though: There seem to be a hit and miss happening. It collapse to mono, but as soon as you press stop and play again it goes back into stereo - untill you click on L or R again, but reverts back to Stereo when hitting stop and play again.

Instead on uninstall, try using the rollback installer provided in the product announcement.

Did that and It does not provide the full core installer of the latest version.

OK so can anyone explain this one to me:

Two vocal tracks - both recorded perfectly and play back normally

    • Added Melodyne (5) as RFX to each one in turn and made the necessary tweaks
    • The first track plays back perfectly; the second track - completely silent
    • Have checked the obvious stuff like mute, gain, faders, echo etc - all fine
    • Here's the strange bit - open the RegionFX editor on the mute track and play the track inside Melodyne - plays perfectly.
    • Both vox tracks are routed to the same bus, but I'm only hearing one.
    • have also tried rendering down the RFX or even removing it - track remains muted

Can't fathom this one - hoping someone can help as it's driving me around the twist!

    Cheers and TIA

    Andy

    • What happens if you press "K" on the keyboard?

    • Have you check for phase cancellation?

    • Try to reverse the polarity.

    • Test to see what happens when you pan each other slightly L&R.
