The site probably does something bad with the underlying code. Or letting others... My Firefox can not navigate the site. A couple of days ago i used the link in the first post. It didn't matter what i clicked on, it always reopened the start page. Today i tested the link in the second post. It opened to a hardware synth. It didn't matter what i then clicked on, it always reopened the hardware synth page. I then tried the link in the first post...it was not the sites start page...it was the hardware synth page.🤕 It's no biggie, i was just curious about the sites offerings.

This is pure theoretical because i couldn't get it to work but i read a manual about Jamstix. Jamstix follow your timeline/tracks. It's a vst instrument. It should open 4 or more tracks for its output. One would probably start by recording a song with a softsynth/instrument on one or more tracks. Next select a basic style in JS then play them together. JS should adjust itself to your songs tempo. Next make changes to JS song sheet. You add,edit or change parts to your liking. When there is drums for the whole song you can also choose to drag the drums, as midi, over to a track. You do that by clicking on the song name, not the part, and drag it over to a miditrack.

That plugin-boutiqe mishap lead to finding it elsewhere. Instead two plugins for 18 £ i got those two plus additional two for 15 £. Thanks invisible friend.

I had problems with the synth "Codex". First it worked. Then it disappeared. Then there where errors with the scan at startup. I took note of what the error message was and moved that particular shell out of that folder to a temp folder in my documents folder. It was a test and i could move it back if it wouldn't work. But it worked and i hadn't errors any longer. I now had a synth that didn't showed up and another synth "Flow Motion" that bogged down project starts. For every instance of the synth in the project it would add approx 7 seconds to the start of the project. Three FM's in the project made me wait 21 seconds to have the project loaded. I have a bunch of other stuff from Waves but it was only the synths that caused me problems so i did a cleanup. I moved the two synths to an USB with installer and license. I moved the rest of the licenses to the cloud. Uninstalled all waves plugins and then checked folders to delete everything that wasn't associated with the controlcenter. Reinstalled all plugins, not the synths, and moved the licenses back to my pc. Now it's a smooth ride again. 👍

I got a bit curious about jamstix and tried to install the free version. Didn't work. I run the installer/manager with admin rights. Didn't work. I'm not gonna waste more time on it but is curious about if any one else got it to work with CbB. Have a nice day.

I tried both chrome and firefox to register an account at plugin-boutique. Never got it to work, no response mail. It has to be my guardian angel looking after me. It knows of my bad economy. 🤔

I haven't tested it but i feel like it would be possible to have two pianorollviews if you undock the first one and move it to the top of screen.

Folks! Please be aware of the difference between support and updates. If you never have the need to contact MS support why bother with the media hype? Updates keep on coming when it have to do with security updates. The only reason to upgrade to a newer os is if you need to have the absolute latest version of hardware and software. Then it's the drivers that's going to be the failure point.

Excuse me for going a little bit off topic. It's about win 10 versus win 7 mentioned above. i don't quote because then it would be a personal thing which it isn't. The support for win 7 ends next year, that's true. If that forces you to change os... Then you obviously have problems with using a computer if you must have contact with the support. And it will probably not get better with another os.

Maybe lenses could help?

Maybe test another audio driver? Try wasapi shared instead of asio.

The problem i had was the play button in CbB would not work when Hatefish was put on a track which is essential to be able to use Hatefish. I found out that if i had an audiofile on a track in the same project the play button worked. Then i just mute the audiofile to concentrate on Hatefish alone.

Put the "input echo" on for the synth. I don't think it's necessary for the arpeggiator but do it there too. The synths input should be the arpeggiator and the output should be to the master. The arpeggiator input should be either midi omni/channel or midi device omni/channel and the output should be none. Some midi generators can produce sound with a little inbuilt synth. In that case the output should go to the master and "input echo" must be on if you want to hear the inbuilt sound together with the synth.

My freeware arpeggiator, BlueARP, is a vst instrument.

Maybe you have read posts about how good those old plugins where, like Rapture Pro, Z3ta, Dimension and others. How good something is, have to do with personal taste. There's no guarantee that you would find them good. I explore the world of free or cheap plugins. The quality of free plugins amaze me. They are very good. I have used trials of commercial "pro"plugins but am pretty sure i'm not missing on much with free plugins.

Use midi learn. With that you can trigger a single cell or a whole column. FORGOT. You have to turn on miditrigger with the midiicon top right.

Surge is good. It can make any sound you can think of...almost. I had problems with Helm on my win7 64-bit. I uninstalled it long time ago so i don't remember the exact problem other than i couldn't use it.

Yesterday i couldn't get notes from my midikeyboard. It took me probably half an hour of fiddling (which where a waste of time) to come up with the solution. I suddenly "DUH..." remembering the pc restarts, because of registry changes i made. Mainly manual cleaning. I also found TTS-1 was helpful. You could confirm the audio was working with a mouseclick. Solution: Shut down Cakewalk - turn off the midikeyboard - restart the pc - start Cakewalk - turn on midikeyboard.
