    Yes, that sounds reasonable.
I think my excitement at times causes my brain to have a logjam at times where you have so many things flooding through that it is sometimes hard to just breathe. One thing that I need to start doing is just put a bunch of these on a notepad to reference so that I can look at the list and not have to think too much about it.

I never thought of When I'm 64, that would have been fun. So keep your eyes and ears open.
Thanks so much for the suggestion.

    All the best,
    Simeon

Just so you know, I'm just being lighthearted. I enjoy your videos -- I love your playing. When you've gone off on musical tangents playing stuff like Stevie Wonder, I really enjoy it. I would love seeing you playing some Beatles, but I'm not seriously pushing for it. I'm just a huge Beatles fan and I just think it would be great to hear, because I bet you'd play those old songs very well. And while I don't need more piano libraries, I'd probably ending up loving this one so much that I'll eventually pick it up.

I'm a total sucker for Beatle-esque and Jon Brion-esque sample libraries and effects.

Three words that are always followed by an insult..😀

The phrase is OFTEN followed by an insult, not always followed by an insult. Case in point, if you read what I wrote, it was followed by a compliment and another compliment with no insults.  Both sincere. I really do appreciate this group, that's why I stick around. But Larry is the driving force behind the deals forum.

  3. Okay, @Simeon Amburgey, I recognize a lot of what you play in your videos, from the church/gospel stuff to Stevie Wonder, Toto, secular stuff, but I really feel you need to show The Beatles more love, especially with this piano!!! Come on, at least a little "Penny Lane" or "When I'm Sixty Four." I always enjoy your playing, but I think you need to do another video for this piano where you get lost playing a Beatles medley! It is, after all, the band the piano is most famously connected to. Even if you're not a big Beatles fan, I think you need to at least try a bit for this one.  Don't make me start a petition! ;)

  4. It's  not related to this specific library, but when I visited the page I listened to an awesome demo of the not yet released Bon#Ham Drums. Wow! A couple of weeks ago I posted how I wish he would do a Bonham library and he does it! So, where ever you are AnyDayLong, I thank you and eagerly await your new library. The vibe is definitely like a really cool spin on the Bonham sound; kind of like Synthwave when a synth has a really retro sound, but is also tweaked to sound modern. I just have to say it's just plain awesome and the demo song is really cool.

On another related note, I was going through my emails with libraries setting up my new DAW PC and I confirmed a suspicion a lot of us have, AnyDayLong was indeed part of Past to Future Reverbs, as a link to one of the Past to Future Reverbs went to AnyDayLong's Sound Cloud account.

Friends who own KONTAKT, check these libraries out. All AnyDayLong's libraries are free except for the above library. But whether they're free or 3 €, 5 € or whatever these are just really great sounding, ready to go libraries. Here's a link to the upcoming Bonham / Zeppelin drums library:

  5. No offense to everyone else here -- this really is a great forum with lots of great people. But the deals subforum really isn't the same without @cclarry. He truly is unreplaceable. Larry, at least when you return, you can read this thread to realize how much you were missed!

  6. Now I am in a real dilemma. I have two Waves plugins in my cart at Everyplugin.com, but because Larry isn't here, I'm unable to pull the trigger as Larry hasn't posted about the sale with a message that says a code or no code available. Larry, we need you back soon!!!

  7. I hope developers have planned for this. ;)

@cclarry I hope your trip goes well, you enjoy some good times with your family and that you stay healthy. It's so obvious I realize that it doesn't even need to be said, but I'll say it anyway -- this place won't be the same without you.

The crazy thing is that drum libraries keep getting more detailed and expansive, yet I have a lot of tracks where this 20 year old kit from Wizoo Samples that only takes up 32MB sounds just fine.

Interesting, I was just going through a bunch of my old software recently and found a couple of Wizoo drum sample CDs. I can't even recall the name of the sampler I was using back then,

  9. I could use some advice. I've watched two videos on the nonlinear filter. Both focused on a synth patch. It sounded mildly appealing to me. But I am wondering, does the effect work well on say vocals or acoustic Instruments or is it mainly something you use on electronic music? I am a rocker, BTW. I do have a bunch of Kilohearts effects, so I've already invested in the Kilohearts ecosystem.

I think a lot of you are also mainly rock musicians. So what kind of uses in a rock context could you imagine for this effect?

  10. Man, if I had a bigger budget I'd absolutely buy this. It sounds really nice.

Of course, the fact that Simeon is such a good player really makes me appreciate this library more -- when he gets lost in a library he loves I always seem to enjoy the journey. Even really good libraries in the hands of YouTubers who play poorly can detract from a good library, so Simeon's talent makes his videos so much more enjoyable. But this library sounds so appealing to me. I need to stop watching! It's way too tempting.

If, and when, you can, you definitely want the upgrade to Superior Drummer 3.
It's like EZ Drummer combined with Superior Drummer, and far, well, SUPERIOR!

Yeah, I know I'll eventually do it (I only realized after your post that I have SD2 and they're on SD3). I do love the sound of it over any other drum vst. I just wish they offered long time customers better update pricing, as I'm not going to update until I see you posting a great deal on it in the forum.

  12. @cclarryI think I read that you used to use Addictive Drums 2 but aren't to happy with their lack of updates, I own AD2 and all but around 4 AdPacks. I own the first versions of Superior Drummer and ezDrummer, which to my ears, are my favorite drum  kits of all, but Superior Drummer 2 is so expensive compared to AD2 or even what I can upgrade to the latest version of BFD for, I haven't updated to SD2 or EZ2. What are your and others thoughts?

I actually like the simplicity of ezDrummer and the detailed sampling of SD, but while I really like having both, it's a lot of money to have to upgrade both. Honestly, it's just my opinion, but while I think that Toontrack makes great drum VSTs and libraries, they're not very good to loyal customers in terms of update pricing and incentives. They really should offer loyal customers better deals than they do.

    Excellent. Thanks for the share.

I practice "harm reduction." One of my more effective strategies is "not owning a full Kontakt license." Freeware is my non-alcoholic beer.

(Anyone else keep a few $5-10 trinkets in their PB wishlist in order to be able to jump on the monthly freebies?)

My self-justification for the past year for grabbing every shiny object with a big price reduction is that it's been impossible to watch a movie in a theater or go out to eat at a restaurant, so I figure I'm spending my restaurant meals and movies on sound crafting tools. (not helpful I know)

I do the same thing. Right now I have a couple of $6USD KLANG libraries in my wish list ready to go in case I want the next freebie. I didn't pick up the current one. Do you really like it @Starship Krupa? I'd be game to give it a second look if I hear good things about it. I like the dev (AudioThing).

I still have my old 8088 around.  It has 2 - yes 2! 20 mb hard drives and 2 floppy drives.  I was SET!   I have no idea if it still works.  I should probably try to set it up and turn it on.   It got me through college, so I was happy.

I still have one of my two Atari ST music computers somewhere in my crawl space. Yeah, I think it's time to let that go. I haven't turned that on since the early 90s!

  15. I travelled to the gig with the lead singer -- the owner of the band name -- offered our road crew  like $150 to leave me stranded at the gig. But they refused the money. Even more, even we were on the way back the lead singer's van was caught off the highway in a ditch and I swear I pleaded with our road crew to pull over to see if he needed help and they refused. Fortunately, he and my band mates were okay. But man, I really learned how much our road crew despised the guy and fortunately liked me even though they always complained when I got carried away jamming with the guitarist during sound checks.

  16. I have some of this developer's KONTAKT libraries, but I'm not a fan of their leaving KONTAKT behind to make their own custom VST. If they were moving from say KONTAKT to SFZ, I would be okay with it, but not another custom VST.

Beyond my already having invested in the KONTAKT ecosystem and taken  the time to learn KONTAKT, from my perspective, the developer transitioning to their own proprietary VST means that I have the hassle of having to deal with learning and installing and dealing with any issues and maintenance for yet another VST -- and small devs making their own VST haven't had a great history, as if they go out of business, you're stuck with the last version of an abandoned VST that eventually is likely to have issues that will never be fixed and be completely useless. So, unfortunately, while I like this small developer and have some of their KONTAKT libraries, their switch away from KONTAKT over to their proprietary VSTs is a deal breaker. I write this not merely to publicly air a gripe but because I feel a little bummed because I was about to buy one of their libraries -- I think it's called Slow -- when I read the dev's blog post that he's leaving KONTAKT behind for his own proprietary VSTs and it stopped me from buying the library, because future support matters to me.

I'd be interested in how other Frozen Plain customers and any sample users feel.  I realize some folks are going to agree and others are going to disagree, I'm just curious to see others' perspectives.  What do you think?

Not sure what type of work you were applying for, but might have been a missed opportunity.

The link is to an article  regarding the early days of programming and an example of looking beyond stereotypes.

And for a few degrees of separation, ran into Uriah Heep's (original) bassist when he was working for IBM in Scotland.  Wonder what his hiring manager was thinking. Or what he put on his resume. 🙂

I actually don't even remember what the job was. I'm pretty sure it was something in marketing or advertising, which did become my career. I just recall the guy asking me all sorts of questions that showed that he didn't take me as a job candidate but was kind of fascinated with me as a musician asking me questions about drug use (nope), groupies, tattoos, earings, etc. I quickly realized there was no way to get the guy out of the rabbit hole we went down no matter how hard I tried, so I was friendly and polite and realized I had no shot and quickly did receive a rejection letter. It's okay, everything worked out just fine once I took musician off my resume. Truth be told, that experience was the reason I never got a tattoo or earring even though I really wanted an earring, I suspected that getting one would cause prospective day job hiring managers to make all sorts of negative assumptions about me (mainly, drug use based on the prevalent stereotypes of the day of musicians).
