Paul, I never heard the expression "factory fodder schooling" before, but that's a great way to describe it.
I like the song (great voice!) but I kept waiting for a definite chorus to break out. Just a personal expectation maybe, but there it is.

Doug, steve@baselines and antler - thanks for the listen and commenting.
Philip - I used to do field recordings - water, rain, birds, things like that. Don't remember if I used my own recording on this one. Thanks for the offer. Might take you up on it some time.
Steve P - always surprises me when I realize I've been listening to and commenting on people's songs here for YEARS. And believe me - an encouraging comment goes a long way to help someone keep on keeping on, be it music or just enduring a bad day/week/month.

Freddy this is the best song I've heard from you. Great lyrics, music and playing. How did you do the vocal treatment? Sounds like a second track was transposed a little bit?

Gary I actually laughed out loud when I read your comment. Yep, babbling brooks can do that to you.
Jack, Hidden, Wookster Thanks for the comments. Appreciate it.
David Nope I don't play the harp. There is something magical about its sound, can't explain it but there it is.
Kurt My doctor's office has a continuous video of tropical fish in the waiting room. Kinda nice actually. Lowers the stress.
Larry T Thanks! I do appreciate the comment.
freddy Thank you. I have a bit of a writer's block right now so I posted one of my older songs.-Bjorn

Straight ahead New Age music that I wrote probably late 90s.
Reminds me of the shops at that time that sold crystals and incense and books about Healing your Aura and always had music going on in the background that sounded like this one.The harp was written in the piano roll view.

You got the mysterious (mystical?) mood across very well. Never sure which note the piano will make the next time it comes around but it always hits one that evokes a reaction.

Love this. Took me away from the dismal gray of February in Oregon for a while.

I really like the guitar accompaniment - it's simple but engaging. Inspired me to write a song.

Never heard of Twixmas before. Good description.
My first impressions as a casual listener using headphones:
Seemed like the lyrics were trying to catch up to the music at times so maybe the tempo is too fast? Or there are too many words to fit the measure? Something like that.
Also, the voc doesn't have enough presence, so bring it up a bit. The lyrics are very good and so is your delivery so it's promising for sure.

Larry, I think I remember this one from the first time around.
Very nice mood enhancer but I got distracted by the repeated phrase with the same five or six notes. Probably only noticed it because I was in critique mode. Other than that I enjoyed the listen.

So I'm looking at this again and thinking, well maybe the T.Rex and whale were a bit over the top. At least I didn't include the stalking tiger clip.
Jerry - Thanks for listening. Not sure how relaxing the T.Rex was for you? 😁
Hidden Sym, David, Nigel - Thank you.
Doug - Thanks. I've done meditation music in the past. Never finished one 'cause I always fell asleep. Bada boom. 😁
Adalheidis - As Ricky Nelson said: "you can't please everyone so you got to please yourself" Which probably won't earn you money but maybe that's not the point. And you're probably asking yourself, "Who's Ricky Nelson?"

Nice one Doug. I don't know, seems like I've heard this before or maybe parts of it? Anyway, very professional sound as always, the performance and production.

Sounds like a Broadway musical. Very nice. And I like that dash of Middle Eastern phrases in a couple of places.

I really enjoyed this one Makke! Sounds so good. I think the tempo could be slowed down a bit which would bring out the emotion in those great bends you do.

Great chord changes. Accompanying instrument is very good. Voc sounds bit thin to me. Maybe try doubling the voc track?
Your lyrics are always good, this one especially so.
-Bjorn -
I don't know anything about harps except I like the sound. I had assumed the "pitch bends" were done by physically de-tuning strings somehow, but sounds like they're done in software?
Lots of reverb and delay on this gives it an ethereal quality. Don't think you need to add anything more to it.Trying to figure out your name. Greek?

In a Galaxy Far Away
I wrote a song that I didn't think was all that good so I made it a video soundtrack. I guess this is a learning Davinci Resolve project more than a real video.
I downloaded a bunch of clips from Pixabay and iStock and applied some fx tricks like chroma keying and blending options for interesting results. At least I think they're interesting. Well some are kind of stupid. Fun to do though. Some fx didn't blend well so don't look too close.
Thanks for watching/comments.

Spot on lyrics that I can certainly relate to. I really like the "something to prove" bit as well. Got me thinking about what motivates me enough to get out of a writer's block.
Wonderful song! Enjoyed it.-Bjorn

Very cool synth intro but maybe too long? The theme that begins ~3:30 is very promising and could be developed into something great.

Interesting stuff going on here David that somehow reminds me of a David Lynch movie. And that's a good thing.

Tom, the video has it all - great images accompanied by music that, to me, describes an urban landscape perfectly.
I really liked the Prochnow and Morris quotes at the beginning and, like Jesse, I expected a bleaker story from the video because of that introduction. But I like your take on it, that the city is a made up world of constant distractions.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the video. Top notch production for sure!

LarryT - I'll have to look at the levels again. I thought the voices were too low so I raised them and maybe I should have left them alone. Anyway I appreciate the comments.
jwnicholson - Thanks. I have no idea what they're saying. My wife is a fan of Balkan folk music and she says the lyrics are usually about a lover's death or else something about herding goats.
David - Thanks. The drums are from NI Mideast vsts.
Lynn - Thanks! I appreciate the kind words.
Antler - Thanks. Seems like a library of vocals has just enough variety to extract one decent song from them. I usually use the vocal phrases.
Tom - Thanks. Hmm I'll check that string you mentioned. I've been using NI Raum for reverb lately, pretty much tweaking random presets.
I thought about using Melodyne on that bit you mentioned, but I kinda liked it as is.Paul - Thanks for listening and commenting. Appreciate it.

Sounds good to me.
I have some old songs that I've redone, but since I wasn't very diligent about saving the tracks or noting which vst/fx settings were used, the songs came out very different from the original. Which is okay but you always think it's supposed to sound like the original.
