  1. I've noticed that if you are using a sustain pedal and cut or edit a section (like deleting notes after), the pedal will be left in the "up" position.

This causes what sounds like notes sticking when the transport stops...

My fix:  add a pedal down command so that it cuts off the way I expect it.

You can also make your own.  Just replicate the size of the *.bmp files (96 x 96 pixels) using images from the web or your own images and graphic creations.  I have even used little iPhone pics of the logos on my hardware synths, a guitar or two and some other gear (edited down in Paint or Picasa) to use as a bus or track icon.  The icons can actually be a bit bigger than 96 x 96, but they have to be square to show the whole thing.  Fun and easy to see at a glance what's on the track or bus.  Here are a few.

    KORG M1.bmp

    Thanks for the tip.

I was looking on the legacy forum where someone had done a bunch of them.

Problem is the link no longer works. 😡

  3. Hi Dreamer,

I would think you don't HAVE to use Cakewalk by Bandlab.

Just remember that Cakewalk has moved on (and how), so in order to have issues corrected, you'll need the most current version.

And who knows? Those issues might have already been addressed in CWBL (Cakewalk by Bandlab).. 😀

I'll admit, there is a bit of a learning curve from Sonar 8.5, but I'd say it would be worth it.

  4. I like the idea.  I was just going through a bunch of "last years" 8 to 16 bar "ideas" looking to see if there was something I could use them for/with.

This would help out and your comment about dragging them in via the browser (NOT sure why I didn't think of that before) would go hand in hand...

  5. Hi James,

You should be able to set "sound on sound" as your default in the preferences section (P).

Also, as far as I know, project templates will hold your settings as well.

what I would do is get all of the settings you typically change before getting started, make the changes then save the template (as your normal template).

That way, you can just start right up! 😁
