A new mix by Aewon called Answer To Panther. The album I've been working on 'Rapture' is almost complete. These will be the final mixes.

It took several remixes to get it right to my ears. I used some (new to me) UA plugins which IMO blew the plugins i was using well out of the water.
A little background on the sound.
I used a Miktek C1 into a prism sound interface. The microphone was switched to modern sound for the verse, and vintage sound for the chorus. The modern sound is not recommended as very sharp hard to remove esses. I have since upgraded to a Neumann U87ai, which I have not used yet. However for the remix i did use the u87ai for the backing vocals in this track, you can subtly hear them, Am looking forward to making tracks with the U87ai into the prism in near future.
The plugins were/are a gamechanger in sound and cutting through.
I used the manley voxbox, la2a compressor, and many more, but these 2 plugins are what brought the vocal right to meet with the beat. Listening to the original mix are worlds apart. Much warmer and clear with these plugins, which are well worth the investment. I got the UA essential package and the ManleyVoxBox.

Not sure if I listened to a remix version or not, anyways, the low end is really great, and yes some other sounds would add to the song. X1 is a long way from the current version, enjoy!
So nice of you to say. Do you mean the low end of the beat or the vocal? Remix is not up yet. I downloaded Manley voxbox and La2A and it just adds some amazing warmth and clarity to the vocal and cuts through nicer. I havent uploaded remix yet as waiting on a friend to add to the chorus. He may or may not come through though. So Will give it another day or two. I appreciate the feedback. Now have Cakewalk by Bandlab so I can use all the latest plugins.

Could do with a bit of a breakdown or a middle 8 the back beat gets repetitive real quick.
Mix wise not bad nice definition in the bottom end, reasonable placement but not much other content other then the vox and the Kick/Bass line.I was limited with my plugins as only had X1. Ive since downloaded the latest cakewalk bandlab and the new plugins work. so i will probably remin it with manley voxbox and see what other sounds i can get. wouldnt mind getting a female on the chorus to make it pop.
And thank you Jack that means a lot.

Maybe i should download cakewalk by bandlab for vst3, over X1?

I can't see where it states vst2 or vst3 on the plugin uad website. I downloaded the la2a and the manley voxbox. Do they have any vst2 plugins still available?

Interesting MCleod. Thank you for taking the time to reply. That is a shame. So i need to look for vst2 only plugins? Can you point me in the right direction or is only vst3 now?

Hello reader,
First time poster.
I have used Sonar X1 for many years and decided to upgrade plugins. I downloaded a trial UAD plugin and have the folder in the VSTplugins folder where my other plugins are. Despite this and updating VST folder in settings, i cant see the UAD plugin anywhere.
Is Sonar X1 compatible with UAD? I remember many years ago I upgraded some native plugins and can see them and use them in X1. Maybe I am missing something? Thanks in advance
