  1. Agreed, but maybe I'll watch #4 again to see if I missed something. But then again, maybe not! 🤣
  2. I binged the 3 original Matrix films again prior to the release of Resurrections. I agree that the first was the best!!! #1 is still in the queue for a re-run soon!
  3. I was asleep at the wheel! 🤣
  4. I was knob expecting you to say that! 🤣
  5. I still have my good 'ol Mackie 1202 VLZ in the closet somewhere... Had some cool jam sessions in my home studio with my buddies back in the 90's using that thing. Connected a couple of synth keyboards, drum machine, 2 guitars, an XLR mic, and a bass through that. Output to stereo amp and consumer audio speakers. Couldn't afford any pro audio monitors yet. Recorded on a high end 2 track cassette tape deck, pre-computer. Good times! https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/mackie-1202-vlz
  6. Does it go to 11???
  7. I wish something like this had been available when I was starting out, lol!
  8. Just a guess, but some folks probably aren't using the balanced 1/4" inputs from a balanced audio source. My old M-Audio interface was unbalanced output only, even using the 1/4" outputs. So when I upgraded my monitors to a pair of KRK Rokits, with balanced 1/4" TRS inputs, the connection was a bit noisy. Ended up going with a Focusrite 2i2 USB interface with balanced 1/4" TRS outputs. All good now!
  9. Also Insight 2 and Nectar 3 Plus.
  10. 50 watts, front headphone jack, even has 1/4" balanced inputs, as well as unbalanced 1/8" and RCA inputs. Nice! Optional 200 watt sub-woofer for $229.
  11. Well, just ran into my first Syntronik 2 dud... the Minimod. 🙄 Quick highlights: Very few new v2 presets in this one. I'll give them credit for them. as the few new ones actually do sound great! But one issue, only ONE of them is a lead!!! For an emulation of the most famous lead mono synth ever? Instead it's loaded with polyphonic bling. Oh well, good thing you can edit the feature creep away with your own presets. But sheesh, it's more like a showcase of "look what we can do in software now". Download files: SYN_Minimod.zip 1.9 GB SYN2_Minimod.zip 0.23 GB
  12. Does the OPUS player require a network connection?
  13. Well we only need 379 more in 6 days for the extension at 2000, and 1379 more total to go all the way to MAX at 3000.
  14. One more though here about a dedicated audio interface ... it's not just about getting audio into your PC ... You will also want to be getting a good audio mix back out of your PC if you are using VSTs! Don't think that the MOX will handle PC audio output? So even if you are able to directly monitor your MOXF audio from the keyboard end, you really wouldn't want to do that, as the audio will incur some noticeable latency once it gets mixed in the PC. So you will only want to be monitoring from the PC side. So consider the optimal audio signal path from the keyboard-> to the PC -> then out of the PC.
  15. Yay! Only 96 more to go ...
  16. It's typically legal to use samples to make your own music, but not legal to distribute them "as-is" as samples. BTW, how are you able to access these samples...?
  17. Well then, you are probably ready to get started, assuming that you have already followed the Yamaha instructions for installing their PC drivers and connecting the MOX to your computer. Just keep in mind that recording the keyboard and using VSTs is going to require different setup and techniques, depending on what you want to do. Recording the keyboard: Record the MIDI from the keyboard (using MIDI tracks or simple instrument tracks) Record the audio from the keyboard using audio tracks Using the VSTs: Play virtual instrument VSTs via MIDI from your keyboard (using simple instrument tracks) MIDI playback using virtual instrument VSTs, and/or your MOX on-board sounds, via recorded MIDI tracks Use VST audio FX on your recorded audio tracks, and/or use them in real-time on the audio tracks connected to your keyboard. Use VST audio FX on the audio output of your virtual instruments There are various video tutorials which will cover these things, but not all in one video. Break it down one task at a time and learn them step by step. Recommend starting with the MIDI basics tutorial posted above. Good luck!
  18. I used Cakewalk as a MIDI sequencer only back in the early days (90's). I had my keyboard audio going directly out to a Mackie mixer and amplifier. I was just using multi-timbral type presets in my keyboard, and multiple MIDI tracks in Cakewalk. It was a while before I began exploring the audio side of my DAW, and getting audio into it, and then back out. That comes with the advantages of mixing other sound sources and effects together in the box, but increases the complexity of signal routing. It took me a few years to come to grips with the "home studio" concept.
  19. My most recent addition was the Syntronik 2 OXa. Gotta say this one is a keeper! Already had a couple of OB-X emulations, so I had my doubts, but the v2 presets are great! Even better if you add some sub oscillators to the factory presets. Then you get even bigger, fat, juicy analog goodness!!! 😎 "Manhattan Beach Sunset".
