  1. Tell me, who does not already have a couple of spectrum analyzers? Don't misunderstand me, it's nice, but no reason to jump to Sonar! Since I have found out that the Start Screen slows down starting that much, I have disabled it! 😄
  2. So it seems the only real change is the look of Sonar vs. CbB! If you do not have a high resolution monitor/graphics, then this is not worth much! Also in the list of bug fixes I could almost find nothing that is of interest to me! But YMMV!
  3. Yes, here it did not work (Sweden)! 😞
  4. Mere chance that suspicion and subscription sound similar? 😄
  5. Nowadays it seems to be in vogue to make frequent, unessential updates for marketing purposes! 😆
  6. In some daws it does, but not in CbB/Sonar! But you can also move the VST3s out of the subfolders if you want, it shouldn't destroy anything.
  7. Or nowadays Western Inquisition! 😄
  8. I know, but mostly the explanation is very short and there is nothing about the conntext in the plugin. Sometimes I am lost! Many other verdors have much better manuals or help!
  9. I would also like a good manual or at least a better help! Because sometimes in Melda plugins it is very difficult to understand the effect of some values/parameters.
  10. For me the kind of authorization makes it easy to pass! 😄 That's also the reason why I passed the last time when it was on sale! I would even prefer iLok! 😆
  11. I always wonder what such "changes" mean? I guess it is only that they do tests with the new versions. Because in Reaper it works even with the previous version without issues (AFAIK)!
  12. I only found out that you have to login to your user account for activation! But this is exactly one of the severe problems of all these machine activations, you never know what are the conditions to keep them alive. First, it is very difficult to find out how you have to authorize and how many seats are available. Then you don't know what can cause a fail of those activations (reactivation required after a time, Windows updates, harddisk changes, network adapter enabling/disabling, ...). Also, it is difficult to find out whether you can remove an authorization and use it again (it's a nightmare to setup a new system with machine activations)! Frankly I have enough such problems already! 😄
  13. Don't cry wolf! I fear there are reasons to feel like that! 😉
  14. This exactly is A.I. ! I was confronted with the same foolishness when I had replaced my car some months ago (American)! I thought it was stupid, because there is no fallback if the battery fails! Nevertheless I was optimistic, because in the past I noticed when the key battery had been low. 3 weeks ago it happened, I could not start the car, because the battery was too low. It was luck that it did not happen out in the woods, happily I was near a supermarket and could buy a new battery! Strange kind of progress nowadays (ok, I sound like an old geezer, but I think there is some truth in it)!
  15. Waldorf, regrettably another online authorization provider! I pass on such annoyance!
  16. I hate that Microsoft merge the operating system with the user interface and system functions! Essentially the operating system did not change as much as the other stuff since W7. If they had separated the operating system, then it would have been possible to do the minor changes even on W7/W8/W10 and keep old systems alive. Much less trouble! I mean similar like Unix and Linux. Regrettably this is only a wish! 😞
  17. iZotope Radius is the best audio stretching algorithm! Including this one is a crucial advantage of Sonar/CbB over its competitors IMHO!
  18. He he, it seems you have the same idea to use X3 as backup, if Splat or CbB cannot be authorized on new systems anymore! 😄 In any case I tested installation and offline activation of X3 two days ago. It worked without issue! I could even install over Splat and CbB without destroying something, because I renamed the shared folders before installation and reset them. Now I am relieved that even in the worst case ... To your problem: I would try to use a standard project template instead of yours!
  19. It seems it has been a wise decision NOT to use Softube Central, because I've never had any problems with Softube plugins using the direct installers and the iLok license manager. 😉
  20. For the newer Softube plugins I cannot find pdf manuals anymore! Nowadays it's like a plague with these online manuals! I know there are some utilities to convert web pages to pdf, but Everyone has to do it again, pointless! Sometimes it does not work with the content links. If there are cookie prompts (EU), then they cover the contents. There are additional pages included that do not belong to the manual. It's a real PITA! 😒 But maybe someone here has a great idea?
  21. That's what some companies assert. But I doubt that they make more profit installing some annoyance for the users. In the contrary, they lose more purchases (e.g. me) than they win. Those bad guys that misuse software surely won't buy their products, if protection is added! So I agree with @Brian Walton that no or an easy (offline) protection is the best for the users (I have a long list of company names that delight and it seems they can survive)! And I prefer such companies in the last 2 years (that increases their purchases! 😉). On the other hand I agree with you that iLok is definitely a better/acceptable protection system (compared to online, login protection). Whereas time limited authorization is one of the worst protections (like CbB 😄), totally user unfriendly IMO. But YMMV!
  22. @cclarry don't you ever sleep? It must be quite late (or should I say early) in your place! 😄
  23. I'm getting old, for me the freebies in some shops get worse and worse! 😆
  24. Also in the Roman Empire there were some old men that had pointed out the decline before it actually was true! Sometimes it would be a good idea to listen to wiser old men/women that have a great picture of what is going on! 😄
