  1. update from Waves:

I suggest rescanning in Cakewalk, as per this article.

    https://www.waves.com/support/how-to-find-your-plugins-in-sonar
    (useful; not)

Make sure that the following paths are listed for VST3, making sure to remove any Waves-specific folders -

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3

Note that VST3 is the only format tested and qualified with our software in Cakewalk.
Waves software is 64-bit only, as 32-bit support was dropped a few versions back.

So how come all i can get is the VST2 CR8...this plugin is screwed!

Had the same initial problem with CR8 not showing up, copied the whole WaveShellsV13 folder to my usual vst folder, then CR8 re-appeared.  Unfortunately, after restarting Cakewalk I get the the "A plugin was requested that appears to be unavailable..." etc. error -see the attached image.  :-( The same thing happens with Presonus' Fat Channel XT, this seems to be an issue with Cakewalk....

yes had that error before when i tried loading CR8...

  3. weird; reloaded cakewalk and now the VST3 version of CR8 has gone; interestingly, when you click to bring up Cosmos, it loads another instance of it; mine in standalones is running as its tagging samples ; as though this version is now a plugin thats linked to CR8...and it might be 32 bit...

  4. well, I copied the waveshell v13 folder into my default vstplugin folder and it now includes CR8 ; i did uninstall V13 plugins first then re-install; i might remove that folder just to see if it still recognizes it; but at least it is now working!

I used only up to V12 of Waves, but when I changed it to V13 with CR8 this time, I got an error when scanning.
I ignored the warning and chose to use it, but it worked without error ...
With other software, there is no error in V13.

i thought it was just a V13 plugin?

I've experienced the same issue with CR8.  I have an open support ticket with Waves and have communicated it appears to be a VST3 issue where they are aware of.  Waves Support has been very responsive to the issue and once I get resolution I will let you and the forum know.   There also appears to be an issue with Output Arcade as well.  Identical to the CR8 issue.  Output sent me a fix, but it did not correct the issue.  Waiting on the next line of instructions from the Output Team and will keep the forum informed as well.

in some respect; im glad im not the only one. Ive re-installed it; cannot find it at all, even though when i reinstall cakewalk detects the vst2 & 3 plugins. Ive sent a support email to Cakewalk as well. I think this is just a plugin not standalone unlike Cosmos that goes with CR8 which is just standalone.

  7. this is a great video but unfortunately my audio interface isnt being reconised by cakewalk or other standalone audio sofatwre for that matter... the driver is the default on my system; when i do a test audio it plays but no sound; funnily enough; platinum recoginises the L-12 driver but not CbB...

there is something weird about this; things like this should just work!

  8. So Ive bought a Livetrack L-12. Drivers are installed on my PC (Win10) but Cakewalk doesnt recognize it as an Audio Interface. I know folks here use the Livetrack so is there something Im doing wrong (something stupid) or is there an issue connecting it to Cakewalk.

Also having issue playing normal audio out of Cakewalk and with standalone software apps like Omnisphere.

Ironically my old version of Platinum recognises the driver for the L-12 but complains about it!

  9. Hi, I've just upgraded to Explorer 7 the 'all' bundle from Rob Papen. Im having major issues when in transit. I can play preset loops, click on midi which plays preset loops but when in transit i just get a short sound as though the plugin cuts out. This is happening on Sub Boombass2, Punch2 and RAW so far but not Predator3.

I thought it was an issue with the latest update so ive rolled back. Also tried other plugins and these are fine. Im' also getting major spikes with the CPU which I rarely see on my system.

To be fair unless they tested it in Cakewalk with other synths in a project they wouldn’t have seen a problem.

Technically though its not normal for instruments to change output counts its not disallowed in VST, but because of the way we handled port routing in Cakewalk (since the 2000’s really) this affected the port numbering. I’ve changed the code to adapt to changes in outputs now so this shouldn’t happen in the future. Of course older versions of Cakewalk software will still have the issue.

Well thanks for fixing the issue, I thought it was just me who had this issue when I posted this a few weeks ago and I was going to stop creating new projects with any Spectrasonics plugin due to this issue.
