I've been having a very similar problem for a while now. I've even built a new PC from scratch and it persists. Basically Cakewalk works fine until I click on any part of any tracks audio clip or use the space-bar to stop/start the transport. It can be a few a three clicks and Cakewalk stops responding and I have to restart the application.

I have the SL mk3 and I haven't been able to get it working properly with Cakewalk. When I defined the Sl as both an ACT and Mackie/HUI controller, I was able to get most functions to work (including transport), well sort-of. I note that the Mackie/HUI interface is marked as beta and when used, I get an unusable keyboard interaction with sticky keys, missing notes. Hopefully the SL will be supported soon and in particular the 'In Control' feature - which works like a dream with Ableton. I tried the AZ Controller but couldn't work out how to program the SL buttons or transport. I tried the HUI preset but again, no transport connection.

I'm hoping to buy a Novation SL61 mk3 soon to replace my old M-Audio AxiomPro61 and was wondering if anybody has integrated the mk3 with Cakewalk or has/knows-of any set-up scripts. I know the SL Mk3 has lots of templates and features for Ableton etc, but I really like Cakewalk for music production and would be loath to have to change and re-learn everything. I'm particularly interested in the InControl feature, although I was never able to get the Axiom's HyperControl to work with Cakewalk..
