Byron, I am talking to CW now and reinstall is one of their suggestions after clearing cache. They also asked me to try different browsers. Crashed in both Chrome and Brave.

I am learning to select effects. Cakewalk closes each time I select and add a plug in. Example: Console screen, scroll up > click + to add effect > follow menu to PITCH SHIFT > enter > screen waits a moment, then closes CW. What can I do differently?

I haven't found audio pitch shift (not MIDI) in the index, or old topics. I'd like to duplicate an acoustic guitar track and pitch shift it very slightly. Then try another duplication but pitch shift it the other way (sharp or flat).

How do I switch from playback on headphones to playback on desktop speakers?

I found a used iTrack Solo Interface (Focusrite) from Sam Ash for $45. This clean, sweet, little box does everything it's supposed to do. Email support was fast, courteous, and technically right on. I am plugged in and rockin' with guitar and keyboards. No latency issues at all. The MidiPlus Smartface II I bought earlier this week ($38) is going back to Amazon tomorrow. Although they tried, Hung Lee and his Asian friends couldn't get the download links to work for me. Is this thread good enough, or should it go somewhere else for others to find? We've come so far from the original title I posted.

I bought a MIDIPLUS Smartface II https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4EBA40?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image for $38. Ad says "supports ASIO" but the link in the owner's manual is 404 not found. I googled around till I found the MIDIPLUS website and the ASIO download for windows 11. Next screen was a Google Drive message saying I did not have permission. Then, "ask for permission." Just got an email from Hung Lee who said he will take my message "to his engineer." Waiting on that. Hmmm...

Thank you for guidance. I have done my homework: the two interfaces I posted confirm having ASIO drivers. (There are no Focusrite refurbished under $100 right now.) I thought more members would evaluate the specs I submitted rather than dismiss by price. I'll just make my best guess, buy it, and return if it doesn't perform. I will post the results and the forum will have the benefit of my experience.
