  1. Okay I figured out the problem, there was a mild audio oddity that's been fixed by restarting the software, and the confusion was compounded by my misreading the sheet even though I should've absolutely known better.
  2. I don't know what the PRV is, I'm primarily placing them on the staff view so they should absolutely be 1/4 notes.
  3. I'm working off of sheet music just to play around with what Cakewalk and various software synthesizers can do, but I've hit a snag. The piece is in 3/4 time, and this specific measure is filled out completely by an 8th note at the start, a quarter note, another quarter note, and another 8th note. However placing that second quarter note, regardless of context (I've even tried it in the same position on a measure in a track absent any other notes) instead results in a pair of bridged eighths. What causes this and how can I fix it? I've tried placing it by means other than staff view but it still comes out wrong.
